For those of you who don't wear gold-why not? Interesting! I used to wear yellow gold. Nearly all of the jewelry I had been given by exes (boyfriends and ex-husband) were yellow gold. None of those relationships ended well so i equate yellow gold with bad memories. DH's first gift to me was a pair of silver earrings. I loved them. Ever since, it's been silver jewelry.

I'm very old fashioned. Gold or platinum, diamonds, pearls, emeralds or sapphires. Hoop or stud earrings and tennis bracelets. Solitaire diamond with a wrap and a band. I don't really wear many beads or costume jewelry. I only have a few pieces but they are nice so I am happy with that.

I usually wear just a small necklace and my nose ring. I have been looking for a necklace with a pink charm on it. I wear a lot of pink especially in the summer. But I recently bought new nose rings and I found one with a silver flower. My DH hates it. Says it is too big so I haven't worn it out of the house.

For those of you who don't wear gold-why not? Interesting! I just prefer the more contemporary look of platinum/white gold/silver. 'Gold' gold looks too traditional/old fashioned somehow. I agree. I've never been a yellow gold person. I also think since I'm pale skinned yellow gold looks horrible on me..I've liked the look on darker skin tones though.

I find white gold vs. yellow gold is a question of skin tone. I don't choose based on that....I've never really noticed if either suits my skin better but I'm just not attracted to yellow gold so never choose it or wear it.

I have enough gold to last me my lifetime and I am just going to put it in the safe deposit box in the bank. I don't want to wear it any longer. At one time I enjoyed wearing it, but I am afraid I will lose it and now no longer need it. I have enough Pandora bracelets to last me a few lifetimes and I will just wear them for jewellery. I also wear fashion jewellery that I have bought at various places. Nickel free earrings don't bother me at all I have tons and tons of them. I wear stuff that matches my outfit. My mother before she passed away and my dad have made it clear many times they would like me to enjoy my mom's jewellery. She had this watch for example. It was crazy expensive and I won't wear that thing. What if it falls off or what if I lose it or something? No that, too, is going in the vault. I have some beautiful Italian gold hoop earrings and I wear them all the time. I love them, she bought them in Italy for me and that's all I need!

DH went through a bead and wire jewelry making phase years ago, so I have tons of beaded pieces. DD has taken over his hobby, so she presents me with new treasures every so often. I also love Bohemian style jewelry like this necklace: Vintage Love Necklace by Village Artisan.

I don't discriminate between gold and silver. Are you all meaning gold the color or gold the metal? I'm not sure whether you are making distinctions between white gold and yellow gold or if you are referring to any gold metal vs sterling silver. Oh, good point. I like yellow gold and sterling silver. I don't care for rose gold. I do have several pieces that are both white and yellow gold. I like them, because I can mix in sterling silver. I love pearls, too.

I prefer yellow gold over silver or white gold. I wear a yellow gold chain with a yellow gold Miraculous Medal that was made in Italy. I found it about 15 years ago and it was what brought me into the Catholic Church, so it is very precious to me. I wear it all of the time, and don't take it off.
I have a sapphire engagement ring that sadly is too big for me. I need to take it to the jewelry store and get it sized to fit my ring finger now that I am finally at my goal weight. It fit when I was married almost 21 years ago, then I gained weight and I had it enlarged. Now I'm back at the weight I was 21 years ago-I should have left it alone. When it's fixed I'll wear it again. Same with my wedding band.
In the meantime I have a lovely gold diamonique (QVC's cubic zirconia) 1.80 carat eternity band that DH bought for me 10 years ago. I love it and wear it everyday. I really loved their diamonique jewelry from years ago when they set it in gold and ephinany (silver layered with platinum) but sadly in the past two years the quality has really gone downhill. I still shop there but I send back a lot of pieces-I'm very picky. Once in awhile I'll find a good piece. I will never buy a real diamond because of ethical issues. Yes I know they say they are conflict free but I don't know if I can believe them. For me a piece of cubic zirconia works just fine if it's done very well.
I like bracelets and I have a sterling silver bracelet with a Miraculous Medal charm on it and sterling silver beads strung throughout it.
