Ok- so I suppose my Latin culture manifests itself in weird ways- one of them being my jewelry choices- I never say no to a nice hoop earring or a Saints' medal. I'm not too keen on bracelets or rings. My friends and I (all Hispanic women) joke about the size of the hoops all the time. Oh, and let's not forget the filigree name pendant-which were ridiculously long cause they had like our first and middle name (eye roll). I try to tamp it down- recently though I bought a Benedictine jubilee double sided medal cause I was having horrible nightmares! And it worked!! Now I want a nice-sized Virgen de Guadalupe- or, alternatively, a Virgen del Carmen. I'm still debating. Anyway-what's your jewelry THING? Rings, earrings? A particular style? Culturally specific?

I guess I'm kinda boring in the jewelry dept. I've never been into jewelry really but I do like collecting my pandora (or similar type) of beads and I really like my Alex and Ani bracelets. I've been eyeing their necklaces also but I don't wear this stuff on a regular basis...only when going out.
Oh and back in the early 2000s I was really into Orbis rings. I loved buying balls for my ring but they balls really can get pricey and I was a poor teenager lol so that quickly faded away.

I wear a different bracelet every day. I love James Avery and hand-crafted jewelry from etsy sellers such as this... I have a leather and silver necklace that I sometimes wear. I don't do gold. The only ring I wear are my wedding rings. My ears aren't pierced.

I like trendy, colorful, statement pieces. No gold, ever.

I love these bracelets from Dressd Jewelry that take someone's handwriting and engrave it. I'd have a whole arm full if they were cheap. Or David Yarman. Love!
I have very few pieces of 'nice' jewelry. I have many nice pieces of costume.
I usually wear gold or silver colored small or medium hoops, some wrap bracelets, and I have some nice chains with charms that I like to wear because they are meaningful.
My watch is actually a $10 Walmart watch my son gave me and I get compliments all the time and I've had it for several years. It is pink with bling.

David Yurman or pretty much anything from the Sundance catalog especially if it is silver or turquoise.

I wear big chunky beaded necklaces all the time. I don't get expensive ones-I like finding ones on clearance and rarely spend more than $10 on them. The necklaces are the only jewelry I change at all.
On my left arm I wear a gold Alex and Ani penguin bracelet and a blue silicone bracelet that has "team Phoebe stronger together" that were made for Phoebe's school. It is so faded it just looks like a blue bracelet. I also always wear a thin silver cuff that says "there is always something to be thankful for." I haven't taken it off for over 2 years except for when I broke my wrist roller skating and had the cast on. As soon as the cast came off the bracelet went back on. I never take those 3 off even when I shower.
I wear my wedding ring and 20 year anniversary band-1 ring in each hand and don't switch out my rings at all.

I like antique platinum rings, preferably square-ish. Otherwise I like statement silver coloured necklaces and bangles but I'm not particularly interested in earrings.

I have a special love for bracelets. I love wearing multiples.
I love colored stones. I don't discriminate between gold and silver. I love them both.

@sdeven, please, would you mind sharing where you got that one from? I'd love to get one like that for my DD! If you'd rather PM me if you don't want to post it, that's cool too!

I don't discriminate between gold and silver. Are you all meaning gold the color or gold the metal? I'm not sure whether you are making distinctions between white gold and yellow gold or if you are referring to any gold metal vs sterling silver.

I wear post earrings every day.
I really like bracelets, but can't really wear them at work, and don't usually bother to put them on at home.
I don't have any necklaces, though if I did, I would want one with a strong chain because I'd be afraid that it would break and I would lose any pendant on it.
I also don't have any rings, though I think they are really pretty. I'd really love to have a mother's ring, but haven't been able to make myself buy one for myself. There is always something more important than buying myself jewelry.

I don't care for yellow gold, and I don't much care for gold the color, either. It's odd because in college I was all about mixing the two (yellow gold and white gold or sterling silver). I guess my taste has changed. I even donated all my Christmas decorations that had gold a couple of years ago.

I'm a glass artist so wear a lot of my own pieces but still buy jewelry. Love that ocean inspired piece! We have a jewelry designer in the family so I have a lot of pieces from www.civalcollective.com too.

I'm very boring.
I prefer small simple stuff, silver if possible.
I don't wear bracelets. I have one chain I wear and a couple charms I swap out. The charms are never more than 2 inches big. I think they're all an inch wide. I wear my wedding band, sometimes my engagement ring. I have other rings but don't wear them. I have a few earrings but don't wear them regularly.
I don't like costume jewelry.

I used to be in the camp of "no gold, ever" but since that is what has become trendy in the last couple years I have picked up a few costume jewelry pieces. I would have preferred them in silver but they weren't available, they only came in gold. I think it's growing on me a little bit. I just really hate it when they make the gold tone SUPER yellow. Give me a nice pale gold color and I'll consider it.

For those of you who don't wear gold-why not? Interesting! I just prefer the more contemporary look of platinum/white gold/silver. 'Gold' gold looks too traditional/old fashioned somehow.

I find white gold vs. yellow gold is a question of skin tone. My skin has more golden undertones, so I usually wear yellow or rose gold in good jewelry.
For casual, I'll wear silver.

I like rose gold, yellow gold as long as it isn't too yellow, and platinum. I wear my wedding ring every day, it is a simple thin platinum band. I wear my engagement ring when I am not at work, it is a solitaire circle diamond on a platinum band.
I have initial earrings and necklaces that I like to wear. I have a kate spade pendant initial necklace with my husband's first initial on it, I wear that necklace frequently. I also have my initials as earrings. I love a monogram. I don't care for big chunky jewelry or wild colors. Most bracelets are too big for my small wrists.
