Mondays are tough, getting back into a routine. And yet we get up and get on with it. Sometimes I think, it is easier to do the routine things than the creative ones.
What gets your MOJO going? Do you need just the right atmosphere, time of day, type of project? Are you motivated by the photos? By the scrappy supplies you will be working with? Do you troll Pinterest or the web looking for the right inspiration? And what do you do when you have the time and opportunity to scrap but no mojo?
Looking forward to hearing your responses. I haven't thought of mine yet . I do know that one thing that keeps me going is a scrappy community I can communicate with, who "get" me!

My mojo gets going when I am at a crop and I have exactly what I want to use to scrap certain photos. I get hung up rooting through my supplies trying to find what I can use and make sure I don't forget anything. The way I go to a crop is to put everything into a bin that I will use for a certain set of photos.
Atmosphere is a big space, good lighting, semi quiet room noise and access to my supplies. I hate being scrammed into a small scrap space where I don't have room to have my supplies where I can reach them.

My mojo is always high when I go to a weekend crop, like myboysnme. Being home alone on a weekend helps, too! I guess it's the knowing I have lots of time to play.

I have trouble scrapping on a deadline--have to finish an album by a certain date, have to leave to do something else at a particular time. Usually, if I know I have the whole morning ahead of me to play, I can "look at the big picture" , pull out what I will be needing, and let my right brain have free reign.
Unfortunately, it does not take much to derail my mojo. One interruption I can handle. More than that--especially those that get my pesky left brain engaged--and the creativity evaporates. I can still continue, but everything just seems like a lot more work. And I am never as happy with the results later.
When it's gone, I often am better to walk away. I will do something else entirely, take care of whatever it was distracted me. Or go for a walk around the yard. Or find a way to relax: read or nap. To get back into the creative frame of mind, I often stroll through challenges and galleries, look at my own completed albums, go onto my own boards on Pinterest to see what sparked my interest at one time...
Mojo is illusive for me. When it coalesces with time, opportunity and photos & scrappy product that fit with each other, now THAT is golden!
Challenges also help to get the juices flowing. This morning I was up early, but I knew I didn't have a lot of time for scrappy play. I had looked at the LOAD516 prompt last night, and knew I wanted to do something with numbers. This morning the stars aligned and the numbers paper jumped out at me from a messy stack waiting to be put away.
I wasn't going to link this here, but then I realized I had used PL cards in an unusual way (well not as PL cards), as refugeepea challenged us to do this month, so here it is:

Mojo can be elusive for me also, but I think it is knowing I have a space of time. Whether at a crop or at home, just don't seem to be able to scrap in between other things.
Also, other scrapper's pages can give me Mojo, see a color combo or design element that I want to copy...er...emulate.
This weekend was not a good scrapping weekend, and I hosted a crop! Only one layout finished since I was hosting....BUT...I got 3 cards made (I was teaching techniques), learned how to roll flowers from my Art Philosophy cartridge (one of the kids figured it out for us) and got @12k steps in for the day...so not a total 'bust'.
We are having services for my fil this Friday...so this week is going to be crazy with prep...but I don't think anyone has anything planned for Saturday. it will be a quiet, recovery day...so, might get to spend some time in the scraproom solo ....

What gets your MOJO going? Newly printed photos! A delivery from Snapfish always does it for me. It's one of the reasons I have photos printed monthly, to ensure that I have something new and recent to work with. Buying new supplies also does it for me. I always have the desire to get a new stamp image on the next page I'm working on, or to break open that new package of sequins. And what do you do when you have the time and opportunity to scrap but no mojo? I come here. I play around with my supplies, thumbing through them, seeing if anything strikes my fancy. Sometimes I'll go shopping, with a limit of $5 and under to spend on just a little something to get me going.

grammadee - I'm loving your LOAD pages Mojo - this May challenge has helped A LOT! I tend to go back and forth between scrapping, sewing, and genealogy. I seem to only have enough mojo/energy/time to focus on one at a time so when I can't seem to get going on one, I switch off to another. I've just finished ordering the rest of the photos for 2014 and the most recent couple from this month. Having printed photos means that when I have time and am in the mood... I can get going...

My weekend went by in the blink of an eye so I kind of feel like Monday is being especially rude to me today. I'll have longer than usual work days this week so I don't know if I'll even get to edit any pictures. I have honestly been quite busy but I can see that I'm putting it off. Maybe if I can commit to doing 6 months worth of pictures instead of a year that will get me going. What gives me mojo? Time. Knowing that I have a good amount of time with no distractions really helps. A sketch or a layout for inspiration helps, although I usually don't copy exactly. It's usually picture placement that I need a little help with. And I just have to feel like scrapping. Even if I have the time and great supplies, if I don't feel like it I won't scrap. I go through phases of scrapping a lot and phases of not scrapping at all. I'm pretty sure that if I was more prepared and had more pictures this month I'd still be scrapping at the rate I was in the first week of the month. The editing is what drags me down. I will try to give myself at least 30 minutes tonight to work on the photo gathering and editing process tonight. I hope you all have a delightful day and get to do something scrappy.

Funny, my post on my blog was about having to complete a project (cards) that I'm really not wanting to do thus no mojo. Since I have to have them completed by this Sunday. My standard response to this situation - Pinterest for inspiration and then put off the project with other non crafty things until I can't any longer. The one time where cleaning the bathroom falls in the want to do it now category instead of the have to do it now. lol.
If I can just create whatever and my mojo is waning, then art journaling or art journaling backgrounds tends to get me into the groove again.
I love challenges, especially combining them.

LisaDV - I love challenges also but many times the process of trying to figure out how to DO the challenge leads me in a different direction - which is okay because it still inspired me to do something
