I have never heard about it and we were just at the vet with our 12 year old border collie. She was high strung as a puppy and now she is off the charts. She pants and paces all night (just at night). Doc says she has dementia. She was prescribed Valium, tramadol, melatonin, Metamucil (to offset the tramadol) and has been on SAMe for about six months. We give her one Valium or tramadol or melatonin before bed and rotate them. They have helped a bit. It breaks my heart to see her so confused. During the day she is much more herself.
The vet also recommended a crazy expensive Science Diet brand food that we didn't want to try right away. She is super picky about food and that is a battle I'd rather not fight.

We've used composure the last few years or so on July 4th for one of our dogs. She is terrified of fireworks and the Composure makes her not care at all. We did figure out that we had to give it to her 30 minutes to an hour before the fireworks started, otherwise nothing could calm her down.
Edited to add: We found it is much cheaper on Amazon then it is to buy from the vet!
