When I worked full time, I tended to cram all of the errands, including grocery shopping, into Saturday, always hoping for a restful Sunday (not that THAT ever happened!)
So thinking about a word that started with S to keep the letter thing going, I came up with SHOPPING. So the prompt is: Buying scrappy supplies: Where, When, How do you shop? What do you spend the most on? What do you enjoy shopping for? What do you find a pain?
And a challenge: if you are getting crafty this weekend, I challenge you to use at least one newly purchased item on your project.

Scrappy Shopping - how fun!
Well, I picked up some black cardstock and Sticko alphabet stickers at WM tonight while getting groceries. Locally WM and Michaels are the only options. I usually only shop at either if I need something specific.
If I go about 45min South - there's a Michaels, a Joann's, and a Hobby Lobby. We're there about once every 6 wks or so - but often on a Sunday so no HL and we don't always go to J's or M's. There's Tuesday Morning too and I do usually pop in there and see what I can find.
I used to always look for a LSS when we travelled or an Archivers but...there's not many left anymore. Now I watch for a Tuesday Morning instead.
I probably spend most of my scrapbook money on basics - photo squares, cardstock, page protectors, photo printing...I enjoy seeing the PP and stickers etc...but I've become pickier about what I actually buy - I need to have a plan for it.
I don't shop online too often - shipping is the big reason, it's so expensive. DH did just pick me up a Quickcutz Japan cookie cutter die set on Ebay - it arrived today. My oldest is stationed in Japan with the Navy.
I don't know that I'll have time to scrap on Saturday or Sunday...

I finish work early on Friday's so try to do all my running around so I can spend my weekends relaxing.
Most of my shopping lately has been for embellishments and I've been buying lots of basics like enamel dots and washi. I'm a sucker for a good travel themed line and lately I've been buying lots of things in pink which is kind of surprising since I'm not really a pink kind of girl.
I find it easier to keep a running cart at my favourite online stores. I tend to be an on sale shopper so I'll usually browse the new arrivals and add things to my cart that appeal then review the cart when the next sale comes along before checking out. Most of the AC papers usually turn up at Spotlight in either 6x6 or 12x12 paper pads so most of the local stores don't really carry much of those ranges any more. I miss being able to see the products in person as I've had a couple of things recently that were a completely different colour in person than they appeared online, and were things I would not have bought if I'd seen them first.

So the prompt is: Buying scrappy supplies: Where, When, How do you shop? What do you spend the most on? What do you enjoy shopping for? What do you find a pain? Where: Dollar Tree (sequins, baker's twine, sometimes stickers) Michael's, A C Moore Walmart Thrift stores (rubber stamps, sequins, misc. awesome stuff) When: I don't usually plan to shop, I just pick up stuff when I find a good deal, if I feel my budget can handle it. I spend the most on albums, simply because they cost the most per piece. I like to not spend more than $17 each, though once in a blue moon I've been able to get them as low as $9.99/each and I was ecstatic. Embellishments are my favorite thing to shop for. They look like little bags of candy, all pretty and delicious. I also feel like I get a bigger bang for my buck with most embellishments because one package can be spread over several layouts. What do I find a pain? Buy trimmer blade replacements. More than once have I bought the wrong size. Why, Fiskars, do you make all the trimmer blades orange, but different sizes? Why would you not print text on them to differentiate? Right now, buying albums is also a pain. I can't find any WRMK in person. I'd rather buy in person because I really hate when my albums are scratched, dented, or marked up in any way.

The easiest challenge of all! I am scrapping all day at a crop and my friend just gave me a birthday gift full of new stuff. I am still cranking out pages on my England album and she gave me some fun 3D stickers so I will be using those, and some papers I got from Scrap Your Trip.
I won't be shopping, but last night I ordered some custom paper for her birthday from Scrap Your Trip. I got an email that custom papers are 20% off for the weekend. She is a scrapper who always has whatever is the latest thing, so to get her something she doesn't have I ordered some custom paper for her upcoming family reunion and some new camera papers. She will be surprised I'm sure!
I either shop online for specialty stuff or I shop at conventions. I am going to 3 in the next 4 months.
Edited: This looks like I work for Scrap your trip but I don't at all! They just have papers perfect for my theme obsession!

So thinking about a word that started with S to keep the letter thing going, I came up with SHOPPING. So the prompt is: Buying scrappy supplies: Where, When, How do you shop? What do you spend the most on? What do you enjoy shopping for? What do you find a pain? I live somewhat near the SEI outlet store. Most of my papers are from the 0.25 and the 0.10 bin. It used to be whenever I was in the area. Now they are only open on Saturdays and I fear they might be closing soon. I am an over thinker and it drives me NUTS! So when I buy online, I have to go through my stash numerous times having a clear idea of what I want to buy and what I'll use. Also, if shipping is a justifiable expense. I spend the most on paper. I enjoy shopping for paper the most. I do love a good pattern paper you can cut apart and use numerous ways like papers with words, cameras, or flowers. I usually shop with photos in mind (Comic Con, camping, etc...) or certain colors in mind. I like earthy or primary colors. If it's a holiday or event, I prefer to buy themed items. I'm not creative and it's less time trying to find the right paper. I find shopping for albums, adhesives, trimmer blades, photos, sheet protectors, and well... the basics so boring and a PAIN but necessary.

Constant online shopper here..Amazon, Scrapbook.com, and recently A Cherry On Top. I keep running carts and whenever I see something here or on other scrapper's blogs, or on youtube (yeah, thanks, y'all)!!!...I put it in my cart. Then when it is time to buy, I review how 'impulsey' that was...and then hit buy. I don't delete much.
I spend the most on...ha!, right now cannot get enough of Project Life type of cards... I enjoy shopping for...everything! A pain?...getting out of the house to shop for groceries, instead of scrapping!
I did scrap this morning..a layout that took me over 2 hours....it was of my dgd#2 with my late fil. Guess I really wanted to make this one 'right'. Did use a clock on it, so that is one May challenge done.

Oooo, love this topic Where: Scrapbook Generation, ACOT, Joanns & Tuesday Morning mostly with a few daily deal sites, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Paper Issues and Scrapbook.com thrown in for good measure here & there. When: I get monthly kits from Scrapbook Generation so those come at the beginning of each month. I then add things here & there from their store as I see them for SG to save & send in my kit box. I usually make a few ACOT orders a year for brands SG doesn't carry. I keep a cart running there for this purpose &'hit "buy"'when there's a good coupon code. I also shop TM every few weeks or if I see YouTubers getting good stuff. Ha. I hit the big box stores for adhesive and basics. Plus specialty collections at holidays and things. Joanns had great Christmas lines last year! How do I shop? I resist the urge to buy boy papers when they first come out bc most likely I'll see them in my SG kits. If after a few months they haven't, I'll get a bit! I also buy some embellishments & Thickers at Tuesday Morning. Great prices and I get way more for my $. I spend the most on my SG kits, consistently. But I use them! I dont have much of a backlog bc making them is therapeutic for me after long days. I love shopping for amazing stuff for amazing prices! When TJ Maxx had all that brand new American Crafts fall product last year, I enjoyed checking out all the stores in my area to hunt down what I wanted. It was a blast!!! I hate spending money on albums and protectors. And adhesive to a lesser extent. But all necessary!

I am so grateful I have a LSS where I live. I find online shopping a pain. I go to Michaels as well. When we travel, I try to hit any LSS along the way. I like to see paper in person if possible. I buy lots of everything.

I am happy to report that I had the opportunity to shop at the American Crafts Warehouse Sale in Orem, Utah last week. We were in Utah for a funeral, and I found some time (not enough!) to make a quick pass through the store.
I found a bunch of stuff, pens, 6x6 pads, PL page protectors and an album, a fuse tool, Thickers and an assortment of other scrappy stuff. Definitely worth the time and effort, some very good prices, and will definitely go back next time we are in Utah visiting family. If you have a chance, go - they are in Orem at the old K Mart on State Street.

Where? Online (scrapbook.com, paper issues, a cherry on top and amazon are my top 4 favorite places, but I will shop at other places for deals.) IRL, M's and Joann's are closeby, but even one of the local grocery/ace has a selection of goodies as does my meijers (like target).
When? Online, generally when I need something. IRL, I almost always walk through the aisles at the grocery/discount shop, but only pick something up 1 out of 10 trips. M's and J's are special trips, usually I have to be searching for something or just in a mood to get something.
How do you shop? I compare prices. Like sales. I keep a wishlist or cart at the online places. I tend to shop in cycles. I was all mixed media material for a while, including stencils. Earlier this year, I was all about Shimelle's new line and new papers/ephemera. Right now I'm running low on flair. So I'll be watching for deals and stocking up there.
What do you spend the most on? My first thought was overall, it would be tools -punches, stencils, inks, embossing folders, dies, my photo printer, my cameo, cameo cutters/mats, etc.
What do you enjoy shopping for? Anything craft related, except organizational things.
What do you find a pain? Organizational things - because 1. I don't want to waste my $$ on organizational supplies when I could buy craft supplies and 2. The items never really meet my desires exactly. More of a "it'll do" kind of thing.
No crafting for me this weekend, except to finish my catechism graduation cards for Sunday.
