Not me, not yet. BUT my USAA MasterCard just got replaced by a Visa card, out of the blue. So now maybe I don't need the new one after all.

Well, the new one is your Costco card too ~ with your lovely picture on it. I guess you have to look at the perks for both cards and see which one gives you more bang for your buck. I like the 4% reward for all gas purchases with our Costco one.

I'm so excited that I can use Visa at Costco now!! (or will be able to shortly)...my Visa is linked with my kids' 529, so I get 2% every 3 months put into their college savings. It's like free money, so I try to use that card as often as possible.

Did they automatically send it or did you apply for it?

Every time I scroll by this thread I read it as "Costa Vida cards". Can you tell I'm hungry?

The interest rate is higher than the AmEx and Citi won't let you cancel it - you have to physically take it into Costco and get converted back to the old style membership card. Can you tell I'm not happy about the switch? Yeah, we're probably going to break up with Costco. Buh bye. And your little dog, Citi Visa, too! Oh, and I didn't answer the original question: no, it hasn't arrived yet.

I can see where it wouldn't be a good fit if you don't pay it off every month but if you do, the perks are excellent.

I suppose that is true, but I don't keep any cards with high rates or fees unless I get something really good for the exchange, like airmiles or something. And the card I have that does earn miles is no fee and low interest. But, it's the principal of the thing.

Not to split hairs but, to me, 4% cash back on gas purchases, 3% cash back on restaurant and travel purchases, 2% cash back on Costco purchases and 1% cash back on all other purchases sounds pretty sweet.

Yep. I'm retiring my REI credit card with 1% back. Easier to pay one less bill each month too!

I don't know. Gas purchase is maybe $200/month, restaurant and travel also a few hundred max. Unless you're a huge Costco user most of your monthly spending is actually at 1% which is actually pretty poor. I think maybe if you travel a ton for work, an on the road salesperson kind of situation, then it may pay off. Otherwise I would say there's better reward cards out there.

I only use my Costco credit card for gas and travel. Everything else (the 1% part) goes on our CaptialOne Venture Card.

Yup, got them last week. We got a different kind of AMEX months ago so we will still have one on hand for their stuff.

Do we need to cancel our Amex cards when we start using our visa? I don't want to keep it open.

Oh, you know, I skipped the gas part - you're right, 4% would be big there. I don't buy gas, so I didn't pay attention to that.
I am pretty loyal to AmEx and it's a long, boring story why, but 4% for something I bought frequently, yeah...that might convince me. A card that paid 4% on groceries could charge any interest they wanted and I'd stand in line for it!

Do we need to cancel our Amex cards when we start using our visa? I don't want to keep it open. If they are Costco issued Am Exp cards, they will automatically become invalid on June 20th. You should have been getting letters from them. We've gotten a ton.

Just don't want an open account hanging out there I don't know about or use.

Mary K We try to buy as much of the stuff we normally would buy elsewhere at Costco, use the Costco credit card and cash in on both the credit card reward AND the executive membership rebates. We also pay it off every month so the interest rate is irrelevant. Last year alone between the two we got about $400 back just for buying the stuff we would be buying anyway.
