How much do you tip the guys that deliver and set up new furniture? We are having a dining table, six chairs and a tall cabinet delivered. I'm just wondering if I'm in line with $15 for each guy. Not enough or overtipping?

Nothing. You paid for delivery when you purchsed the items. They get paid to deliver the furniture. I do offer a bottle of water.

I don't. I'll give them a bottle of water or soda each, but no tip. Last time we had furniture delivered, there was a delivery fee. The store owns the truck they use (unlike the pizza guy who uses his own) and pays them a wage. No need to tip.

This store has a next to nothing delivery charge, less than half of other area stores. It's family owned and they don't sub out the delivery.

Still wouldn't tip.

If they don't sub out the delivery, the delivery people are store employees. They are being paid for their work. You shouldn't feel obligated to tip them.

I would offer them a soda or bottle of water, but I wouldn't give them cash.

I am a $10/person tipper for furniture delivery. (Irrespective of all the other factors of who and how much they are being paid.)

I would tip them each $10-$20, depending on how much they were delivering, how many stairs, weather issues, how well they did the job, what they did with the old stuff, if I asked for them to move things around more than once, etc.
I am sure that is over tipping based on other pea responses, but it's what feels right to me.

I don't. I pay for the service. If it is hot out, I would offer water or pop.

Then they've taken into account wages and the cost of the delivery when setting their charge/prices. Still wouldn't tip. But if they do a great job, I would give them a shoutout on social media AND recommend them to friends.

You don't tip them. That would be like tipping the cashier for bagging your items!
HOWEVER, if you asked them to move your own furniture, tip.

I don't tip delivery people. I do offer a bottle of water, gatorade or soda.
I might consider it if I lived upstairs or it was hard to get to property, but other than that No.

I don't tip people who deliver/set up furniture/appliances. Every time I have bought something, we pay a delivery/installation fee.

I've never tipped furniture or appliance delivery guys. My house is one story and easy to access. If they did something "above and beyond" I would tip them, but when I pay a delivery fee, I've already paid for that service.

No tip for delivery. They charge to deliver and that should take care of it.

Depends on what they do.
Carry in a chair? No.
Carry in a whole room full of furniture, ask me how I want it set up, and put protective pads on the bottom of all the feet - yeah, they are getting a tip.

Hubby always tips....I don't mind tipping for this...especially when they do a good job (even if they are already getting paid). It is just a nice way to say thank you.
