When your judgy pants are feeling a bit too tight... Maybe just be thankful.

A statement I try to remember in many situations.

I admit, I got my judgement on yesterday in a big way. My judgey pants weren't just tight, they were Ross Geller leather pants on a hot Florida summer day tight. It was totally about me of course, and personal issues I am having reflecting on to someone else and I am not very proud of myself for it.

I have no idea what this is about, but just wanted to tell you that it's ok. You recognized it, are admitting it and I think that's half the battle. Your posts are always thoughtful and honest here and I find myself agreeing with you A LOT. also, I had a good chuckle at the Ross Geller pants reference

This is such a good phrase to remember. I have found that I try to keep my focus on empathy. When I am tempted to judge, I try to put myself in someone else's shoes and see if I can understand where they're coming from.

I don't know what this OP is about, maybe something off board? But if we're honest, don't we each have a judgey moment every now and then? And then, hopefully, get a grip on it?

The OP is just a reminder. A reminder to myself really. I figured others might like it too.

I have been consiously working on this lately, trying to be nicer in general. But I will admit, the airport was trying yesterday.

I appreciate it trollie , didn't mean to imply otherwise. I've got a friend fighting an extraordinary problem and find myself saying it for that reason too.

Yep. What changed me is getting sick. It takes more energy to be hateful and judgmental.
