i have been on the search for the perfect adhesive ever since I got into this hobby. I want something that will allow for some wiggle room when first applied, but once on there, things stay stuck together. I have finally settled on the Glue Glider Pro gun and refills for most of my projects. I use sook wang scor tape for ribbons and other items the runner doesn't handle very well. It works great for glitter as well. And then I use Glossy Accents to attach heavy items like metal charms. I also use it to puff up elements. For smaller die cuts, like letters, I use a Xyron sticker maker. For larger die cuts, Especially the intricate ones, i use StickIt double sided sheets which cut nicely and then stick the piece down. And then there are good old pop dots and foam squares...
What do you use for adhesive? Do you use different ones for different purposes? Do you use glues for purposes other than to stick things together?

Years ago I used Hermafix repositionable and I loved it. I've never had anything come loose in my old albums. I stopped scrapping for a few years and when I came back to it I heard about the ATG gun. I got one with a 50% off coupon and I haven't used anything else since. The one thing I don't like about it is that if I want to move something I usually tear paper at least a little. Sometimes I can lift something up without tearing anything, though. Another adhesive I use is the Zig glue pen. The thin tip is great for adhering thin strips of paper or gluing down corners that are lifting up. I don't use pop dots or anything dimensional.

What do you use for adhesive? Scotch double sided permanent tape (for paper to paper, photos to paper, for most things), pop dots (for lift), and Scotch quick dry liquid glue (for sequins, tiny things, etc) I still have a Xyron sticker maker, but no refills. It was good when I had an alpha die set and was gluing down entire titles at a time. But I really hated gummy residue.

photo squares for most stuff. Xyron 'X' for small things (die cut letters etc...). Glue dots for vellum (I used to be able to get small clear photo squares and I liked those much better as I find the glue dots harder to work with but...)

OK, from reading the previous posts, I'm going to be the glue maniac. I have my old ATG 700. I use it for most paper/photo to paper applications. For liquid glue I have scotch quick dry in the bottle and in a thin line bottle - great for cardstock/chipboard pieces including alphabets. Glossy accents - for anything really heave and to add gloss to the tops of things. Aleene's tacky glue if I have a foam piece to adhere. Xyron X and 5" one for when an all over adhesion is necessary. (swap items and things that get mailed) The 5" just came out to get the backs of my ATC and the Info card attached to thicker chipboard. Glue dots in mini and medium. when I'm cluster flowers together I always use a glue dot between layers. But also for extra adhesion. sometimes it's easier than pulling out the liquid glue for enamel dots and bling or if something is popping up in the corner/side and you want it to lay flat. Dimensional adhesives. I typically grab my scotch dimensional tape first, especially for large pieces. It's thin enough for sending cards through the mail. If I need to I can double it for extra height. I also have pop dots/squares which are good for smaller items. The dots have more dimension. And I have kooltak clear dimensional tape. Perfect for clear items with dimension or when it's small and you definitely don't want to see white sticking out. I have a repositionable spray adhesive which was used mainly for art journaling/print making and resticking silhouette mats. Gel medium and mod podge used mainly for art journaling. These are just the ones I use. I still have the Zig pen, glue sticks, tombow multi adhesive, some hand tape runners, and others. I also have red line sticky tape and sheets which I would pull out for certain applications.

odd man out,
I still use glue sticks. Esp Like the Elmer's Photo Sticks. Hate the pioneer and uhu sticks...awful, awful, awful
I do have an ATG, but as with most tape runners I am jinxed. I always end up having the tape floop out of the dispenser and have to stop and rewind...and then the tape breaks. I do like it when it works, but for me ...it is a pain. also for dd's wedding invites I used Tombow permanant...then saw one of them at a friends house and it was falling apart! $7 per dispenser and it was not worth it.
Mini and Craft dots for embellies, pop dots ...the red permanant tape when these don't work
and a friend introduced me to a glue pen for those smaller or thin embellies that the glue stick is too messy for.

I should own stock in hermafix removeable dotto. I use this for 98% of my adhesive needs. I use it to put down ribbon, attach thickers that lost their stick, you name it. Unless the paper is very glossy, I can remove things and put them back on YEARS later. I do not have a problem with anything not sticking. I am the type of person that will be looking at an album I did 5 years ago and decide to move something. So I go through about 2 rolls each crop, or maybe 2 rolls for 30 layouts approximately. At 2.85 a roll at scrapbook pal, that is what my family and friends give me for gifts!
The other 2% of the time I will use glue dots, glue lines, pop dots or squares, herma tabs, and these are for some purpose when herma dotto removeable won't do.
I have quite a few rolls of herma dotto permanent that I bought at a yard sale and I have it on standby in case I run out of adhesive and am desperate.

I still use photo squares as my main adhesive. For stuff where I can't use photo squares I use Dimensional Magic. I occasionally use pop dots or double sided tape but those photo squares are still my go to. I love that I can move things around when I change my mind but once they're stuck they're in it for the long haul.
