Your unsure if you did anything to it? I hit it on the corner of a door so hard last night I saw stars...it had a dent in it!! It was a little swollen and hurt all the way to my fingers. Got up today it was bruised and still a little swollen, and my hand even hurts...can't rest it on anything either... Don't know if just a bad bruise? Wouldn't think I could do much to it that way? Ughh...fun start to a weekend..lol

oh no! And elbow bruises are the worst, too. You don't think that you really lay your elbow on much....until it's bruised and then you KNOW!
I hope it heals quickly!

I whacked my elbow/funny bone so hard once at a restaurant that I passed out. No joke. I was sitting in a booth with friends and gesturing while telling a story. I hit my elbow, and when I came to, I had pretty much slid off my seat and almost under the table. Thank heavens that's never happened again!

I went right down when I hit it and thought I was going to vomit, instant tears ....ouch!

I've done that and it felt like a giant electric shock went through it. Hurt for a week or so after that.

I am ashamed, but it just created a very funny visual in my head. I am a Klutz and I often whack my elbow so hard that I describe it as feeling "like my fingernails fly off." But I have always remained conscious during these episodes.

She hit her head on the tile floor and was knocked out. Her daughter came in and found her, it led to a hospital stay. Four years later, and it's still too soon for jokes. ETA hope yours is better soon twoboyzmom

Thanks. Part of me wonders if it's more than a bruise...since the pain is down to my hand and my fingers get tingly. Yet I'd hate to pay a $70 urgent care copay to be told a bruise..lol

Could whacking it hard like that do that?

The funny bone is actually your ulnar nerve and I found that out after whacking my elbow and finally going to the doctor a week later, because the pain radiated to my hand. It took a while to heal and still gives me trouble now and then. I would go get it checked, but I wonder if you just injured the nerve? OW!

She hit it, passed out, fell to the floor and got a concussion. Nothing funny about the funny bone.

I will be sitting at the "passed out after hitting elbow" table. Not under it, mind you, just at it. (Mine was hanging a phone up back in the corded telephone era. I leaned too hard and hit the wall, and came to on the floor.)

Yup! Actually my 7 year old son was into wrestling and he got me in just the right spot on my elbow with a top of a Lego box (the metallic ones). OUCH. Couldn't feel my arm. Fingers got purple. A LOT of pain! I went to the E.R. to get it looked at because I had broken my ankle and 2 toes before that........ Nothing was wrong. It was akin to a sprain. I elevated it and babied it for a while, but felt relieved to know that I didn't break anything. Hope you feel better!!

I fell in a soap spill on a concrete bathroom floor. Slammed my elbow on impact. 3 weeks later still sore if I forget and rest it on my desk.

As a teen I was dropped on my elbow on a super waterlogged log out in the ocean. I passed out and slipped under the water. I have a bone chip to this day and can't rest it on a right-hand return desk. When I do whack it, it is excruciating.

My daughter broke her elbow at school. The teacher supervisor said it didn't seem bad when she fell, but DD was in pain so she called me. When I talked to the principal a few days later she said she saw it happen from her window and knew that DD had broken it. She could tell by the pain on her face. She was only in a cast for 3weeks though it took about 6 for it to be fully healed.

Don't remember who kept me from going all the way under the booth, but there's no surer way to bring about complete silence in a crowded fast food restaurant.

I hit my elbow so hard I ended up with radial nerve palsy. My right arm was numb from the elbow down, and I could not lift my wrist or move my thumb for just over 3 months. There's nothing like smacking yourself in the face with your own hand, trying to lift your arm to wash your hair in the shower. The burning and stabbing feeling in my arm when the nerve was waking up, was far more painful than the actual injury.
