what do you do in that limited time?
I know many of us prefer large blocks of time to scrap, and honestly I talk myself out of doing anything if I have just a few minutes. I also know those few minutes can add up to a lot of valuable time, even over a week! Let's create a list that we can go to for ideas.
Here's my contribution:
Clean/organize something - Put together a paper set for a layout
- Find some inspiration for next time (pinterest, magazines, youtube, etc.)

Sort printed photos, and put next to scrap on top.
Make a list of titles you might use with these photos.
Grab top set of pix, and pull out pp & cs that will work with them.
Write out a quick plan for when you can get back here.
Paint or stencil something on a background so it will be dry when you need it.

Look out the window and watch the birds at the feeders and bath.

Ten minutes?
Gathering mission.
Photos to work on next. Sheet of cardstock and one of patterned paper that coordinates.
Am I scrapping by color or theme?
Color: grab enamel dots, Stickles, look through my diecut drawer.
Theme: grab whatever I have of that theme.
Gathering just means bringing together the choices. I don't have to use everything I pull.
That's probably ten minutes right there.

Clean or organize. If I'm chomping at the bit to scrap, I would work on my current project (I always have something on my desk).

It would probably take me 10 minutes just to get into my scrap space, but I would grab a completed album off the shelf, carry it out to my bedroom and look at it.

Definitely tidy up, I don't think I could get anything "done" in 10 minutes- just enough time to put away an old kit into my stash or take out the scrap trash! Sometimes, though, on a PL spread when I feel like it isn't coming together, I leave it out on my desk in the grid pattern and shuffle things around. Every once in a while, I'll commit one card to a pocket just so I can move forward! On a bad day, that's a 10 minute process!

I think there was a thread like this recently about what you could accomplish in 15 minutes. It did inspire me to do something in that amount of time. I'm like you - I feel like I need a long period of time to get anything done, but that thread got me scrapping. If I remember correctly I was having a very busy week but with just 15 minutes here and there throughout the week I got two layouts done that I would not have finished without that idea put into my head.
If I spent 10-15 minutes scrapping right now I'd figure out which pictures I'd be scrapping next and look for paper and embellishments. Since I'm sitting here with my laptop and a cup of tea I could look for some inspiration for the supplies I've most recently purchased. It makes it easier for me to get started with them.

Ten minutes? I'd either tidy up the surface of the desk, organize something, or maybe do a bit of decorating in my planner if I felt the itch to be creative. I'm a sloooooow scrapper so 10 minutes wouldn't be enough time for me to get into a project.

Look out the window and watch the birds at the feeders and bath. LOL. This is totally what I do. My house has a wrap-around front porch and my craft room window looks out on the porch. I have several feeders on the porch for birds, squirrels and chipmunks, plus a low bird bath that all of the critters can drink from. If I have 10 minutes of uninterrupted, quiet solitude, I love just sitting there watching to see who is coming up on my porch. Totally recharges me for what ever I do next.

I have a few options: Cut a background cut file with my Cameo Scan and possibly edit the photos for my next few layouts (working with pre digital pics right now) Continue working with the cut file I cut yesterday - adding patterned paper behind cut out arrows. I agree - you can actually get quite a lot done in little increments of time. There was another thread in NRSB a while ago where someone shared their habit of doing a few little tasks every night to cut down what they had to do at the weekend and I was inspired to start doing that as well. It's amazing what you can accomplish in a few minutes On the other hand, I might just spend 10 minutes on this board!

My apologies, I didn't realize someone had already done a similar thread! I did a search before I posted, but my search terms must have been off a bit and didn't come up with the prior thread.

No need to apologize. Looks like you got lots of responses, so your new thread was appreciated. I didn't see the other thread earlier either. May have been on NSBR, and may have been something like FlyLady, getting household tasks and organization done one little bit at a time.

I'm a pokey scrapper so there isn't much I could actually complete in just ten minutes. I have to really get into my zone to get things done, and it just frustrates me to start something and not finish it. LOL I could probably do a "one arm sweep" of the work table into a box, but that wouldn't really accomplish much!

Hide from my kids and play on my phone. I agree with Gail (Frazzled Mom), 10 minutes isn't enough time to do anything before someone will come looking for me. It takes longer than that for me to just settle down, drink some water, and remember how to breathe normally.

scrappyoutlaw- No apologies for starting cool threads. It's not allowed. I work on digital files Take my scrap box, paper punches and cut out things to make embellishments Fussy cut Work on a project. I always put my projects in stages. That really helps when I have limited time.

The only way I ever got anything accomplished when the kids where small was 10 minutes here, 10 minutes there. Luckily I could leave in-progress pages out. The only suggestion I don't see and can think of right off the top is journaling. I'd set down with a photos stack and type up thoughts on the photos.

Gosh, I'm pretty bad at this - I so often have tiny pockets of time where I sit down to my desk intending to work on something crafty, and all I end up doing is checking facebook. I think I just have to come to terms with the fact that I like to knock it all out in one go and not have half-finished (or quarter-finished) layouts laying around. Especially since I will procrastinate the one part that I don't want to do, usually journaling or repetitive stamping / cutting. But I like the other suggestions on here of cleaning / organizing in those small amounts of time.
