Spanx were created by the Devil. It's an aerobic activity just to get them on! LMAO! I went shopping with my elderly mother-in-law and she had a wrestling match going on in the dressing room with her and the spanx. She lost her balance and fell into the wall. It was frickin' hilarious. We had a giggling girl fest. When we were still busting a gut laughing as we walked out of the changing rooms, my husband just couldn't figure it out. Good times.

Get a product called Glide. It's available at Dick's or other sporting goods stores. It goes on like deodorant.

Do the jockey skimmies help with sweat? I wore a skirt last year on a hot day and felt like I was sweating like crazy. It was gross and I worried that it would show.

Yay! Thanks for linking to these. My Mom had picked up a black pair for my 13 year old DD to wear under her lacrosse uniform skirt. Every time they come out of the wash and I fold them, I am impressed with how heavy and nicely made the are. You can't beat the $6.50 price tag! I just ordered myself a black pair for under my tiny gym shorts and my daughter 3 more pairs for dance. SaveSave

I bought some cotton pantaloons. They hit mid thigh and look like a slip if my skirt blows. I call them my bloomers. I had some a long, long time ago and I called them "saving my sanity". I lived in a hot, hot, humid, hot country and summers were nasty. These let me wear skirts and dresses every single day. Loved them.

iluvpink, I think they probably run true to size. I thought they didn't so ordered a large, and they are too big. I then ordered mediums, and they fit much better. Ramona, I don't find them hot, and I live in a warm/humid climate. And I personally consider them a slip so I wear panties underneath.

Ok, I have to ask, do you wear underwear with the skimmies? Aren't they hot (temperature)? Yes I do. And no, they're not hot. I live in humid as hell FL and find them very comfortable.

Thanks for the recommendations, everyone. Just put in an order for the skimmies. They have a package for about $60 that has four pair. Hoping they're here soon. Can't wait to try them with my new-found skirts.

99% of my wardrobe is dresses so I clicked on this thread as I usually wear Bonds granny pants.
Skimmies look great but so far I can't find any for sale in Australia. $34 AUD PLUS shipping for one pair is a bit dear for me, my Bonds are about $16 but I normally wait for sales, use my Myer discount card and stock up.
Corinne Before our trip to Thailand last year I was desperately trying to find something here that weren't shape wear because it is so hot. Amazingly I found the perfect thing at Tempt of all places. I was in there with my teen daughter and saw these lightweight mid thigh pants that had something like "keeps you cool" in them. I bought 2 pairs and they were perfect. I've never worn dresses so much in my life as last summer.

I wear shortie bike shorts, not for chafing, but because my frigging granny panties won't keep from drooping off my bony ass. I almost PIMP...this is SO me!!! OP, I love skirts!! 'm very long waisted so until recently when the maxi dresses came into fashion I was pretty much limited to skirts. I like mine long so I will wear capri leggings under mine, but I'm very cold natured and when I'm at work I appreciate that extra layer. If my skirt is too short for a pair of leggings I'll wear a pair of bike shorts underneath instead. I like Monistat's anti-chafing gel. The ever enabling peas turned me onto it for a totally different use (primer) but I had an occasion to need it for it's intended purpose and it worked wonders!!

I remember watching my grandmother getting into those girdles from the 1970's...she would twist around like a contortionist, swear under her breath the WHOLE time about how hot it was all just to go to the grocery store!!!

regular cotton shorts that go at least mid-thigh are my best friend under a skirt or dress !!! ETA.....I was always afraid to get ANY shapewear because of HEAT, but now that I've read all the replies, I see there are some that DONT add heat and misery----thanks, everyone!

I wear a similar long line panty by maidenform. I order one size up because I don't want control. I also love them under skinny pants because there is no panty line. I have another brand also and the maidenform seems to be more high waisted I wear dresses and skirts a lot now that I found this solution.

Skimmies are a lot thinner than shape wear. I live in Texas and have to go outside around noon everyday for recess duty. I don't have any problem with them being too hot under my skirts. Much cooler than wearing pants or thicker shape wear. Love them!

I use a pure silicone lubricant. It's not slimy or sticky, doesn't wear off and no chafing.

I purchased some long line women's boxer shorts (like bike shorts but they are such that there isn't the center seam to chafe) from Junonia. Since I got a few pair of those I have started wearing dresses more often. Bonus is that there is no potential for panty lines!

I still remember once at work a woman was visiting our office in the summertime and every time she walked by my desk I heard this swissing sound and I couldn't figure it out. Then finally I realized she had on spanx underneath that was making that noise. I say get some Glide, don't wear something that everyone is going to hear and it'll probably make you hot.
