I'm having a bunch of family over for dinner on Thursday night and I want to make pulled pork How do you make yours? Do you just throw pre-made sauce in with the meat or do you make your sauce from scratch?

We like Sweet Baby Ray's and since I recently got a pressure cooker that's how I'm making it forever. No more crock pot. lol Pressure cooker 50 minutes, shred, put some of the cooking liquid back in along with however much Sweet Baby Ray's that seems right, heat for a bit longer, done. Everyone devours it.

I use about 5-6 lbs pork shoulder/butt, rub with about a tablespoon of sea salt, 1 or 1.5 tablespoons liquid smoke, and a bit (1/2 c) of liquid (water, chicken broth, etc.) and cook on low in the crockpot for about 10-12 hrs, turning once. Shred and add your favorite bbq sauce (homemade or we like Sweet Baby Ray's sauce) later when eating. Delicious!

I use a bottle of barbecue sauce. Life is too short to pre-make BBQ sauce when I'm using a crock pot for the convenience factor. I cook a pork shoulder in the crock pot with a little water, quartered onions, ribs of celery, and vegetable stock if I have it. After it is fully cooked i take out the vegetables, I shred the pork, add the BBQ sauce, stir, and let it sit in the crockpot for another 30 mins.
I like to serve mine with Hawaiian buns, coleslaw, and baked beans.

Sweet Baby Rays sauce poured over the pork butt in the crock pot. Sometimes I put Famous Dave's rib rub and liquid smoke on the meat before dumping the sauce on. When it's done, shred the meat, add enough cooking liquid to moisten and add fresh sauce. I tried the Kevin and Amanda recipe referenced above and it was good, but way more effort than I would put forth again.

(Hidden in a corner), I like the Campbell's 'Apple Bourbon' slow cooker sauce. It is good for 2 - 3 lbs of boneless pork shoulder. I cook for 1 person & this gives me just enough leftovers for a few future meals. leannec, another item to add to your shopping list when you go to the USA on your vacation. The Korean beef slow cooker sauce is really good as well.

This recipe is easy and goood. I usually add a bottle of BBQ sauce (Dinosaur is my favorite) after shredding, and then put the meat back into the crockpot on low for another hour or so. Southern Pulled Pork - Allrecipes

I get a tenderloin from Costco. Add a 2 litre of Dr. Pepper, garlic, some hot sauce, brown sugar, liquid smoke and a touch of bourbon. Then I slow broil it, shred it and slow broil it more. Make a thicker bbq sauce from a bit of the au jus.
Get some coleslaw and use President's Choice Chipotle dipping sauce as the dressing. It's a massive hit.

I've done it both ways, but this is hands-down my favorite pulled pork recipe. Make sure to use smoked paprika and not just the regular kind. Spicy, smoky and not overly sweet. The Best Pulled Pork

I use a recipe that uses a can of French onion soup, 1 cup ketchup, 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, and 3 Tbsp brown sugar. I cook it in a crockpot all day on low then shred it. It's great. I always put coleslaw on my sandwich too.

Slice up an onion and throw it in the crockpot. Put your hunk of pork on top of it. Pout a can of beer on top of that. Cook on low overnight. Drain the liquid, shred the pork and put it back in the crockpot. Add a bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's to the pork and cook for another hour or two on low. My kids and nephews always request that I make it for family events. And they take home any leftovers.

I use the Slow Cooker Pulled Pork packet by McCormicks. Add the ketchup, brown sugar and double the vinegar it asks for. Cook in the pressure cooker for 50 minutes. Use my bear claws to shred it in the pot.

I make the Pioneer Woman's Spicy Pop Pulled Pork. Spicy Pop Pulled Pork I like a half can of chipotle peppers/sauce and freeze the other half for later. (I'm from Minnesota. Ketchup is a little spicy, dontcha know--said in my best Minnesota accent!) If I'm serving for a crowd, I don't add the BBQ sauce. I usually have several different kinds and let people choose what to add. The meat is good on it's own, or with BBQ sauce. But I'm diabetic and BBQ sauce has a LOT of carbs. So I'm a without kind of girl.

My husband smokes it on his smoker for about 20 hours . Then let's it rest and then shreds it. The best and much better than any restaurant version. He uses a rub we make then add a sauce as needed to the meat depending what are doing with it.

I throw it in the crock pot with a 20oz bottle of Dr Pepper and leave it for 8 hrs on low. Then I pull it and add our favorite BBW sauce. That's it!

I make my own sauce, but it takes seconds - tomato, brown sugar, mustard powder and Worcester sauce. I cook the joint in the slow cooker with onions, carrots, garlic and some stock. Then shred add the sauce ingredients and cook for abit longer the combine and soften the flavours.

I use pork loin.
Cut up an onion in slices, two if you like a lot of onion. Put in the bottom of the crock pot. Lay the pork loins (seasoned as you wish) on top.
Let cook for several hours until done. Shred and mix with onions. Add your favorite sauce and let cook down a little more.
So yummy.

However you cook it, if you have a KitchenAid stand mixer then use the dough hook to shred the meat. So easy and comes out the perfect shred with no effort.
