For my party this Saturday, I was going to make the pulled pork, but instead I took an easy route and went to GFS and bought pre-made BBQ pulled pork. Delicious. Just threw it in the crock pot after it thawed. I did make homemade sloppy joes. I would make is as others stated above - I use sweet baby ray's, too.

However you cook it, if you have a KitchenAid stand mixer then use the dough hook to shred the meat. So easy and comes out the perfect shred with no effort. @ tips; Cut meat into chunks, No continous beating- turn on and off or else you will get a paste.

I have done it different ways depending on time. Kevin and Amanda's was good and if I'm feeding a crowd I do like letting them add their own sauce. I also do the pork in the crockpot with dr pepper. Then adding Sweet Baby Rays.

Pork Shoulder in the crock pot.....I add the sauce once the pork is cooked, not while it's cooking because we've used the pulled pork for other things than just bbq.

I like to cook my pulled pork without the sauce in the pan. I season the meat with a little salt, pepper, garlic. If I have some Italian dressing or raspberry vinegarette dressing, I might put a couple of squirts into the pan as well. I also add a several shakes of Lea and Perrins worcestershire sauce.
I let the meat cook in its own juices.
Then I shred the fork tender meat.
I eat it that way and people just add BBQ sauce to his/her own individual sandwich if they want
