I have an iPad mini and it is awfully difficult to read outside. I have tried adjusting size an brightness but it is no better. Am thinking of getting a Kindle but want to make sure I can easily read it in sunlight. Any suggestions? TIA

The Kindle Paperwhite. Apparently this is the one you want for easy reading anywhere. As recommended by the Peas. (which is why I bought mine...recommended by everyone here when I asked. lol)

I love my Kindle paperwhite--I use it at the pool and beach all summer long.

I have an iPad mini, too, and I also have an inexpensive kindle for the beach or when I'm out on the patio. I have the kindle app on my phone as well, and they all sync, so I have no excuse for not reading.

I use my old Kindle. IPad is hard to read and also overheats in the sun.

Kindle paperwhite, you can easily read at night without a light AND outside in the sun! I love mine, use it every single day.

Kindle voyage- but it's only very slightly better than the paperwhite, unless you read loads.

You want an actual EReader with the Eink. Go with a kindle paper white or a nook glow light. I have a nook glow and love it for reading outdoors.

I also love my Kobo. I have the Aura H20 so it can be used by the pool or at the beach without worrying about getting water or sand into it.

My kids have Nooks and love them - definitely get the glowlight kind for reading in bed as well. One kid has a Nook without the glow, and a reading light is necessary.

Thanks for all the replies. Sounds like Kindle PaperWhite is the one to buy. I originally had a Nook, but it lasted only a little over a year, with minimal use. That is why I got the iPad mini, but guess I should have gone to a Kindle.

I use my old kindle touch. Maybe I'll upgrade it soon, but it is so much better than trying to read on my iPad.

Kindle Voyage for me and a Paperwhite for DH. Whatever you get make sure it uses eInk technology.

Another Kindle Paperwhite fan here. I have a waterproof case for it that I use when I'm reading in the pool or when I have my beach chair down in the water.

I was using my iPad for a while because I couldn't find the charging cord to my kindle. Found it and now I remember why I love my paper white. It's small and so easy to read.
