Kindle Paperwhite - but I highly recommend buying the most recent version of the regular Kindles. I have a 2nd generation Paperwhite and I've never been happy with the screen resolution or how dim it is.
I was considering the Voyage, but it's from 2014 - almost 2 yr old technology. The latest is the Oasis, but the price tag is very hefty. I'm currently using my iPad Mini, but do secretly hope a new Kindle Paperwhite comes out in time for Christmas, but I've not read any rumors about that happening, so I'm not holding my breath. Ha.

Another vote for the Kindle paperwhite. I have a waterproof case from Amazon and I float and read, read and float.

Kindle Paperwhite is perfect in practically any lighting situation. I also learned here it fits in a quart sized zip lock bag if you don't have a waterproof case. I'm set for the beach.

I have the Kindle paper white. I really like it and read quite a bit in the car and outside.

I have and use the first edition Nook - mine is 5 years old and I have never had a problem with it.

I also say Kindle Paperwhite. Amazon has an extended payment plan that can be used on Kindles - 20% of the price is billed in 5 monthly installments. link to Amazon's billing offer
