Good morning ladies!! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!! Today starts probably one of the busiest weeks of the year for me. I got up at 5:20 this morning and was downstairs on the treadmill at 5:45 doing my workout. I cannot let excuses take over! So not only did I get my workout in but it was the day of C25K that required a 20 min run! I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't think I'd make it but I did. YAY! I keep forgetting to see what the distance is because it said to run for 20 mins or 2 miles. I can't imagine at my slow turtle speed that I was even close to 2 miles. Today was official weigh in and I'm up about 1/2 lb. After the bad eating of this weekend, I'm surprised it wasn't more. But I'm back on track 100% this morning and will do my best to eat light tomorrow since we're eating out. Today after I drop the kids off at school, I need to make brownies. Then go to work for a couple of hours. Then picking the kids up from school and coming home to bake cookies. Then I need to put the ganache on the brownies and ice the cookies. I hope you all have a wonderful Monday!! Keep up the hard work girls!! It pays off!!

Wow, Brandy, you are doing GREAT with the C25K. Congrats! I gained 1.4 lbs. I had a little too much fun my birthday week. Yes, not day--week! Hope to get back to normal today. I am also retaining more fluid. I do that in the heat and humidity, and I hate it. Hoping that I can get rid of it too by eating better this week. Thanks for the encouragement, Brandy, to keep on working. I need that today! Have a blessed day everyone!

Congrats! Some day I will complete C25K! Haven't bother weighing myself today. It's that time of the month and I am feeling very fat. Back to work today and without any meal prep, lunches will be tough. I was going to make soup last night, but realized I was out of onions and just wasn't feeling it. Gym after work today!

I'm 4 days out from my little surgery and really feeling almost normal. I'm on doctor's orders for no aerobic exercise for 3 weeks, so no brisk walking for me. I'll try a slow and careful 1 mile walk this morning to see how that feels. Yes, I know not to push myself too much. I'm down a 1.5 lbs, but I'm not sure how realistic that is. I've not had a huge appetite in the past several days. We are being "blessed" today with zucchini from the in-laws garden, so I'll make some heathly(ish) zucchini bread and look for some creative ways to cook the rest. It's one of those veggies that I won't eat if the texture is wrong. Thanks again to everyone who posts here for the encouragement. It really does make a difference in my day.

tuesdaysgone I saw this recipe recently and want to try it. Looks yummy! brandy327 great job! I think I asked one other time and not sure if you responded but I was wondering what kind of shoes you are wearing when you run? Patter I retain water in the heat as well. I have been noticing that my ring is hard to get on and off lately. We had a busy weekend. I had to get the garage sale stuff cleaned up and we also went swimming and to a parade. My mom is supposed to be coming today through Thursday (they have a plumbing issue, though, so it depends if they get that fixed). I haven't worked out since Wednesday but was very active and hardly sat down at all. I didn't eat much but what I did eat wasn't that healthy. Of course I am up a few lbs as usual. I'm getting frustrated that I haven't lost for so long. I feel stronger and more confident, but need to start losing again. I'm about to do BBM workout. This is the start of week 5 and it is supposed to get more challenging. I'm a little nervous! I have my food planned for the day and am happy to get back to eating healthy.

Doesn't always work though. Add to that PMSing and the water retention is at a high. You can do this, my friend!! One day, one hour, sometimes, one minute at a time!!

I've attempted the C25K program at least 3 or 4 times over the years and I've never gotten this far. All the times I've attempted in the past, I've been at least 50 lbs heavier and my foot muscles/tendons just wouldn't allow it. It's been MUCH better this time around!

brandy327 great job! I think I asked one other time and not sure if you responded but I was wondering what kind of shoes you are wearing when you run? I think you'd asked if I had new running shoes, which I do. I have 2 new pairs that I got just a couple of months ago. I have one pair of New Balance and one pair of Adidas ones. The Adidas ones I LOVE because they have a memory foam/gel insole and they're SO soft and cushy!! The New Balance ones I also like a lot because they're SUPER light but they're not as cushy.

I am with you both on water retention, Patter and iamkristinl16! Same for salty foods which is often why bad eating will really do me in. Double whammy with the actual weight gain and the water. On that note, I think it was this weekend, maybe even yesterday, that I posted that I was back down to where I was when we left for our 2 week vacation in May. Today, I was shocked to see I was down another pound, bringing me to 0.5lb away from the 10 lb mark. That was my original goal for May, but it was pretty early that I realized I would not make it so I set it as my June goal, trying to be realistic. Yesterday was not much of an eating day at all. I went to take photos at my niece's dance recital rehearsal and ended up staying to see the show too. I had 1/2 of my sister's bagel (breakfast), a slice of broccoli pizza (lunch), a small piece of chicken with marina sauce and some pineapple. That was my whole day. I drank two or 3 bottles of water as well. Probably a bit dehydrated hence the sudden weight loss. But it shows what is most definitely possible! My next goal is 10% of my body weight. That's a loftier goal. I should hit that by the end of August.

I have been thinking about doing the c25k again (only got to week two or three before and my legs and feet hurt so much every time so I quit). I keep hearing that the shoes make all of the difference but I hate to spend a ton on running shoes if my feet and shins will still hurt.

brandy327 That's great on the run! I just cannot make myself run...
Patter I'm a bloater- all in my belly- at times. Never anywhere else. You deserved a birthday week!
tuesdaysgone- Glad you're feeling better.
fkawitchypea- I'm terrible at meal prep!
iamkristinl16- Don't get discouraged- start over today.
melissa- Congrats- a pound is a pound!
I was weighed and measured on Saturday. Went from 123 lbs to 120 lbs- next goal will be to make it to the teens. The best news was my waist went from 32 1/2 to 31 3/4- almost an inch- yay! I lost in my arms and hips, too.
I haven't been eating enough - hard to eat when you're so sad and stressed, but I'm trying. Have a good day ladies.

Sorry to hear there are more of us with the water retention issue. It feels terrible is all I can say. I drink tons of water year round so I just keep on truckin'. I am trying English Breakfast Tea with Coconut Oil right now. So many benefits, and I want to give it a try in my diet. Hmm, we will see if it helps in the months to come. Doesn't taste bad. I am drinking it a room temp; I let it cool for a bit. And congrats on the losses! I count anything more than -0.0 a wonderful thing! Congrats on being so close to your next goal melissa! I hope to get a move in the right direction this week! Enjoy the day girls.

After getting some sad news on Friday I ate my feelings for a couple of days. I did get my exercise in every day so that helped -both calorie wise and mood- and I am back on track this morning. I really need to go the grocery store before lunch though as I don't have much to choose from. Loving all of the summer fruits and veggies that are finally availalbe!

I have lost 4 pounds for the week. This is the first week I have been on it. I am following Diet Doctor on the recommendation of an MD classmate (high school) of mine. He does Paleo but this is easier for me. On it you just don't eat anything that you shouldn't it. It's a diabetic diet and while I am not diabetic and don't show signs of diabetes, my mom's family had plenty of diabetics in it. What do I eat? Everything under the sun as long as it isn't bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, or sugar. I do get to eat fruit but just small amounts. How much do I normally eat? Not much to begin with so it's ok. I think I am allowed between 40 and 60 carbs a day and even then I don't get all of them. I feel like I am missing nothing. I don't miss food. Do I still like cake, bagels, mac and cheese etc? Of course. Do I feel like I want them? No. With both of us eating like this it is very easy to follow. When DS is home I make him some Japanese food we don't eat and he is perfectly happy.
So that's where we are!

Does anyone do Aquafit? They offer that at my new gym and I know it's a great workout and you sweat in the water as I did it a million years ago in Japan. It is really easy on your knees and you don't get over heated like you can in the gym. I am thinking maybe I should do that a couple of times a week, too. I will do treadmill 2x week and Aquafit 2x week and call it a day? I am hoping it will be lots of older ladies at the class because they are the least likely to stare at me. I hope anyway. I can't get over heated that's the problem I have. (I hope they have an easy class because I need to start there. I am sure some of the exercisers are old pros at it and are in great shape...low and slow).

I don't weigh myself. I don't even own a scale. I just measure and go by how my clothes feel. I have three daughters and do not want them to obsess over a number.
Today I'm just going to do cardio and work in my landscaping. I'm a little sore from my leg workout yesterday.

So not only did I get my workout in but it was the day of C25K that required a 20 min run! I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is awesome!!!! There is something very empowering when you reach these running milestones don't you think?
I'm down 1/2 lb this week. At this point I will take any loss I can get. I'm 6 lbs from my goal but with our vacation less than 2 weeks away I'm sure I will gain while we are gone and I will be further from my goal. oh well...I will get there!
I will run when I get home. It's too hot to run outside so I will do my 3 miles on the treadmill. I have reached a point in my running where I prefer to run outside but I'm grateful I have a treadmill for those 100 degree days.

I love reading all of the successes on this thread each day. Way to go ladies!
I also love hearing of the struggles. It is nice to know I am not alone and to see everyone pick themselves right up and move forward!
