Good morning ladies!! My plan this morning was to get up at 5:30 and get my workout in so it would be done for the day. Unfortunately, sleep won out. I didn't get up until 7. And now I'm trying to get a bunch of stuff done before I leave to get the food for the soccer banquet. I'm hoping to get home in plenty of time to put my workout in after I get back. I wore heels yesterday to the girls' graduation and they tore my toes up. I think at least 4 or 5 have blisters that were completely torn open. I would've been fine if it had just been the graduation that I wore them too but we ended up having to walk up to the middle school and it was quite a walk. Hopefully it won't mess with my working out. Today I'm completely on track with eating...and eating light. I have leftovers from the restaurant yesterday but I'm not eating them. DH said he'd eat them for dinner so I'll have salad instead. I hope you ladies have a fantastic day!!

We are supposed to have storms here today, so I am hoping I can get a run in during ds's basketball camp this morning.
Other than that I just have a ton of house chores. Ds is going with my dh on a business trip tomorrow morning. They are flying to Houston for a few days. They are taking my Dh's father as well so ds has so eone to hang with during the day. Friday night they will be going to a baseball game. They are so excited. I need to get ds packed and laundry must be done first.
My heart is broken today for the family who lost their son at Disney. So sad for them.
Have a wonderful day ladies.

TankTop it is so sad. I can only imagine something like that happening. brandy327 sounds like a good plan! Sometimes you just need sleep. My mom and stepdad didn't come Monday because of plumbing issues but I think they are coming today. DS has an allergy appt and then I have to work for awhile. I also need to Renew my drivers license. My birthday was may 16 and I believe you have 30 days so it HAS to be done today. I keep forgetting about it. Ugh. I am getting ready to do my workout in a few minutes. It is cardio day and I am not looking forward to it. These days are tough and not my favorite, but that probably means I need to do more of them. Lol. Hope everyone had a great day!

it's a lovely day here without a cloud in the sky-just sorry I have to work and can't be outside as much as I'd like!

Do you get credit for the weight you have dropped since the middle of April or is it just what you lose on this part of the diet? I did weigh 10 pounds more when my mom passed and the period after that so technically I am down 10 lbs from what I was. I am down a dress size so that is progress. I wore dress pants all day yesterday instead of yoga capris like I usually do. So that is progress again. I still have a long ways to go, but I have to keep on the bright side of this. I was at least 10 pounds more at this time in March and April. The exercise isn't going as well as I had hoped. My legs are killing me in the morning when I feel like exercising. Aquafit is tonight so I am hoping it will be old ladies (my bestie said it is and that she will go with me and we'll do it together). That helped a lot. I could go to the gym in a little while. I am not sure what time the new one opens yet. Maybe that will make things with my legs not hurt so much. I will have to go and workout I guess. That's the only smart thing to do. It's 6 am and I need to go to the gym.

I'm 6 lbs down THIS MONTH. Yay. I've been managing my diet really well and exercising. I'd love to lose 9lb more by August. I've been increasing proteins, decreasing refined carbs and eating lots of fruits and veggies.
Keep up the good work everyone!

Been busy this morning! Had my coffee and oatmeal for breakfast and then got showered and ready. Then I cleaned the kitchen, started laundry, vacuumed the stairs to the basement and the entire basement except ds's room. Now I'm just waiting for BFF to get here to pick us up. First day of school vacation and my dd's are already on my nerves with their fighting/arguing. One went in the other's room to ask a question and start messing with something that her sister didn't want her to and ended up hitting her. I'm tired, PMSing and have 18 million things on my plate for the next 3 days and I ended up yelling at them both. And the first night of vacation has resulted in early bedtime for both of them. The one that got hit has accepted it and moved on. The hitter is moping and being miserable. Yay for having to adult today?

Unfortunately, sleep won out. I didn't get up until 7. Rest is important too! My heart is broken today for the family who lost their son at Disney. So sad for them. It's heartbreaking. I can't imagine; doesn't even seem real. I also need to Renew my drivers license. Good luck - hope it is an uneventful outing! I got mine last month (birthday was 5/20) and I got in and out quickly over my lunch. I'm 6 lbs down THIS MONTH. Awesome! Still taking some rest after the tri. Have a NSV - I had a skirt/top which I loved but it ran small. Got it as a gift but was never brave enough to wear it because I didn't think it looked right. For some reason, I thought of it this morning. Put it on and it fit great. Made for a really good start to the day. Still have to work on my plank challenge and will do that tonight. We are starting a new challenge but I haven't really looked at it yet. I know it involves sit-ups... Have a great day!

Doing well, not really loosing weight, but eating so much better and my blood sugar is doing well. I took up the habit of getting off the bus a couple of stops earlier than work, and walk 1/2 mile. It feels good to be doing that. I try to walk everywhere, and being in Brooklyn it is EASY. I'm having a good week so far. I ran a couple miles last night and just got back from a 4 mile walk. my s/o is coming home for lunch today and we are going to go for a swim. I need to swim again, I love the workout! I'm 6 lbs down THIS MONTH. That is awesome!!! I have a salad for lunch. I am tired of my usual chicken salad

This post is titled "Why I hate having big boobs"...
I am very self conscious about my chest. I have been large chested most of my life - it's a very genetic thing that I hate. Right now I am a size 10 but I'm a 38DDD...that's big! Obviously since I run it's something I'm constantly worried about and I always wear super supportive sports bras when working out.
So yesterday while I was on lunch I went to our local running store because I'm over rotating when I land (and now my ankles are hurting). I figured I needed inserts or something so I took my running shoes with me. The guy there had me put them on and jump on the treadmill so he could watch my gait while I ran.
Now remember...I'm on lunch which means I'm in work clothes.
I'm on the treadmill and only running at 4.0 mph but I'm literally sweating because I'm so anxious about my boobs. I get done running and he says "I see exactly what it wrong with your run but we need to address something else first. You really should be wearing a sports bra when you run."
I ABOUT DIED! He was very nice in the way he said it but I felt about 1/2 inch tall. I replied "I do when I run but I'm on lunch from work." he said "oh okay" and we moved on to my stride issue.
It bothered me all day long that even when I'm at a healthy weight, my chest is going to be an issue and it's always going to be an issue. I know he was trying to be helpful but it brought back some really ugly self image issues that I have struggled with for years.
I love running - I feel so good when I'm running and I'm back to square one with worried about how I look when I'm out there. I think my sports bras do the trick. I have been buying them from Layne Bryant because they specialize in big boobs. I haven't been able to find sports bras elsewhere that work but now I'm obsessing on if I'm wearing the right one.
I had an appointment last week with a local surgeon about a reduction but my insurance won't cover it. They say it's not a health issue. Paying out of pocket isn't an option so I have to learn to "deal with it" I guess.
Thanks for letting me vent...

(hugs) I'm sure he didn't mean it in a negative way. There are a lot of women who run who don't wear appropriate support and don't even realize they need to be. I see this a lot when I'm doing dog agility, for example. Now...this advice is coming from someone who is small on top, but I know that there are brands designed for proper support while running, for all-sizes. Here's an article from Women's Running which may be helpful, as to finding out what the specialty brands are: womensrunning.competitor.com/2016/03/shoes-gear/the-best-new-sports-bras-for-dd-through-f-cups_55635You may try the running store again and work with a female associate who can help with a sports bra fitting; the store local to me is mostly staffed by women, which is nice for things like that

needmysanity I totally understand how you feel about your boobs. I feel the same way but I do not run-- a while back a busty friend of mine told me she swears by Enell sports bras and gets them at ladiesonlysports dot com. I haven't purchased anything because my sizes are changing and the bras are expensive. Plus I'm just walking so I'm okay for now. Anyhow, that might be another source for you if you feel like you need one. Hang in there-- our bodies are not perfect but they do so much for us! My in laws have made it home safe from visiting us. We had a good time and my FIL is following his medical advice for his blood clot. He was cleared for the flight as it it was short and he got up and moved around. My husband is home on vacation all week! Yesterday we walked along the Milwaukee Riverwalk (about two miles) and saw the Fonz statue for the first time. It's probably been there for 8 years! We are going to see a play over the weekend and tonight we are going to see a water skiing show! It is in a lagoon near us and usually I'll pack a picnic dinner. There were some splurges while we had company and I'm a bit off my normal schedule so I'm going to wait until next Monday to weigh in-- that is the start of my Whole 30 and I'm not supposed to weigh until day 31. That will not be hard for me-- I hate the scale! Delta Dawn I don't make the rules in this thread but I don't think there are any rules for counting your weight loss. As far as I'm concerned- every pound is hard to lose and they all count!

My youngest daughter came with me to the gym today for chest day. Love having time together over summer! I'm not doing well with eating. Being off work and around my kitchen all day is challenging. :/

Two and a half more days. Two and a half more days. Two.and.a.half.more.days... OMG, Monday afternoon cannot get here fast enough! Can't wait for summer vacation. My eating today has been good. I'm still not getting my workouts done--stupid toe STILL flippin' hurts since I banged it up TWO weeks ago!!!!! So frustrating! Hopefully I'll be fine by next Tuesday. I'm starting a step circuit class Tuesday evenings and seriously considering doing a beginner yoga class for a month 2x/week. The only "snaffu" is that the first day is next Tuesday morning at 8. If my AP okays it, I can go and come to work "late". It's on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and $10/class so I think it's a pretty reasonable way for me to try it out and see if it's something I'd like to continue with in the fall. I'm a little concerned about tomorrow, though. Seeing as the boys' first swim meet is this Saturday and every Saturday for the next 6ish weeks, I can't go to my regular Saturday morning meeting. The only time I can go is Thursday evenings. Even though I know that it will even out eventually, I'm worried because I'm weighing in in the evening, my weight will not go down, or worse, I'll have a gain. I know it's stupid, but I have a love-hate relationship with the scale. I'm trying very hard not to live or die by it, but it's had a really significant affect on my feeling of self-worth for so long it's really hard to just let it go. I'll be a big girl and weigh in tomorrow and move forward, but the build up is causing me some major anxiety.

I had an appointment last week with a local surgeon about a reduction but my insurance won't cover it. They say it's not a health issue. Paying out of pocket isn't an option so I have to learn to "deal with it" I guess. This is normal. The vast majority of women are denied the first time. You need to start making sure certain things are documented anytime you are at your intern's office and should have these things documented when you visit the plastic surgeon. Things like grooves in your shoulders. I don't really know what size I was before- at least a DD/DDD. When I see the last photos I took of my breasts, I can tell I was likely even bigger. The plastic surgeon described them in liters, not ccs! My new completely fake breasts are 650 cc implants, which on my wide chest wall, is not even a B cup. I have friends who are C cups or even D with this size implant. If you ever have issues with rashes under your breasts or you are constantly taking measures to prevent them, make sure that is mentioned in the record. Back pain as well. If you have seen an orthopedist, physical therapist or chiropractor for these issues, this information must be conveyed to the insurance company. Remember that they assume that most people will take no for an answer. Prove that you really need this (and that includes how many grams the surgeon thinks will be removed) and you should get it covered. I've even known people who took 3 tries. It is a procedure I never had, but I should have because I needed them both completely removed!

Got caught up writing about breast reduction. LOL It has been a good week for exercise so far. Went to OrangeTheory on Monday and today, I took a full ballet class at Alvin Ailey in NYC. Huge class, but plenty of room to move. My dd even helped me in petite allegro when I was having trouble getting the combination. And, I got a few corrections (the teacher, a former NYCB principal and a very popular teacher in NYC, knows me because she trained my dd). Planning OrangeTheory Fitness again tomorrow and Saturday. My dd is a very good influence. Oh, and at Ailey, the guy at the desk talked me into the new student promotion, so I got 2 classes for a little more than the cost of 1. That means I need to go back in the next month. And I will!

Bouncing running boobs are better than sedentary couch potato boobs any day of the week! I am also a very self conscious runner. Just this week I ran on our town's Main Street without dying of embarrassment. If someone were to call me out like that I would have reacted the same way. Don't let it stop you! You are rocking it!

I saw a plastic surgeon and then a GP and they both told me the same thing I had to bring my BMI back down to normal. The provincial plan will just reject me on that basis alone. I have back pain and I am carrying around these things. I am working at losing weight. I am down 10 lbs since the end of March. I am doing a low carb thing because that works best for me. I don't know if i will ever get my weight down to a normal BMI for my height.

Do you do deep water aquafit? I went tonight. I think I found my new exercise. I felt great after the class. I was told the instructor we had was pretty difficult, and I did get tired at times, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. I totally fit in and it was so nice to be anonymous. No one asking me questions or telling me I need to do this or that weight (that's another story). The instructor was so encouraging and I really liked her.
Do you go often? I am thinking 2x week and then doing the gym one day a week. This was hard work, but it was so rewarding. I amazed myself that I got through it yet I did. The hour went by really quickly and I watched the clock and it was 50 minutes and then we were cooling down.
It was fun!

I need mine to just come off all together. No. You do not need them off altogether. A reduction is a reduction. A mastectomy is a very different procedure with much different after effects. My sister has had them both and would tell you the same. Please do not confuse the concept. And yes, if you are very overweight, you do need to lose weight first.

My mother had breast cancer and died from ovarian cancer. My dad's mom died from breast cancer. Trust me they need to go. If I lose the weight then they shrink, but they worry me every day of my life now.

If they need to come off, weight is a not as much of an issue like it would be for a reduction. Get in line for genetic testing ASAP. That will change everything if positive.
