Morning ladies!! I hope you're all having a successful week!! I haven't had a lot of time to read and post but on Saturday my time will free up in a big way!! Today is baking day for me! 400+ cookies and 80+ brownies. I got up at 5, showered, got ready and will be starting on it all shortly. Just waiting for my ds to get up so I can go downstairs and get all the stuff I need to get started. My eating has kind of been crappy AND I'm PMSing...so the scale is up a bit. Still haven't gone back over the 200 lb mark but it's up enough that I know I need to get back into this in a big way. My goal for that is Saturday. I don't have much planned and hope to get a good workout in at some point that day as I don't think I'll have time today and I definitely won't have time tomorrow. I hope you all have a wonderful day! You girls can do this! We all can!! Just keep up the hard work!!

Wow, that is a lot of baking brandy327! Your house is going to smell yummy! I feel so swollen. The heat is killing me. I just keep retaining water. Would this heat please go away? I hate to jump on the scale on Monday. I need the cooler air please. I am throwing a beef stew in the crock pot this morning so dinner will be done. Love that. DD#2 that just came home requested it. Love that she requested something easy! Well enjoy the day everyone. Stay cool!

Up way too early today to see dh and DS off on their guys trip to Houston. With dh's travel schedule and dd's work/social schedule, DS is my constant companion. Going to be a lonely day around here.
If I get motivated I might go do some shopping and get a pedi. Most likely I will work out at home and sit outside and read in the sun.

Good grief brandy327, I'm tired just thinking about your day. Best of luck. I think the silver lining might be that after seeing that much cookie dough and brownie batter, you'll be so sick of it you won't be tempted to indulge. I'm a bit frustrated because I'm not able to exercise much at all. I went back to the surgeon yesterday and he confirmed that I'm healing up well, but I still need to be in "take it easy" mode. I will follow doctor's orders, but I want to be out working in the garden or walking. Due to my almost no exercise lifestyle, I'm trying to be extra careful with eating. I'll focus today on being happy that I'm healthy and try not to be too grumpy.

So Ive been lurking on this thread for awhile. But I want to participate more. I'm still nervous about it because I so often jump on this bandwagon and then fall off. And then I feel like a failure.
I have been hiking and walking several days a week with my husband and I'm going to start working on my eating habits.
I will be starting allergy shots in the next couple of weeks and hope that it will result in being able to eat fruits and vegetables again. Right now i can tolerate citrus and no other raw fruit or vegetables. I can say that eating right is extremely difficult when you can't eat healthy foods. Especially in summer.
So I would love to join and possibly just follow along quietly for a while still. But after the inspiring pics posted this week I thought I would say hey.

I'm still nervous about it because I so often jump on this bandwagon and then fall off. And then I feel like a failure. Glad you are here! Take it in baby steps so it doesn't get overwhelming. Little victories add up! Today I got up early and went to the pool to swim laps. It was such a beautiful morning I didn't want to leave. Had to break out of my comfort zone a bit, since the lane closest to the side was already taken. I don't usually swim the middle, but I did it! I still don't get many laps in at a time but I am learning what works for me and what does not. Tonight, I have a meeting to go to, so I don't know what kind of workout I will get in, if any. Had all my work day food packed and then I realized it's Thursday and I have a work-related lunch today. Will have to make sure that I make good lunch choices

brandy327 I don't know how you do all of that baking and not nibble away!
raindancer Welcome!
I'm still hanging in there- trying to get my protein back up by eating 5 times a day- so hard. And I'm really not hungry anyway. Gym(s) is/are going good. I still go to my regular one 3x a week and the training one 3x a week. I am seeing more muscle and less belly- yay!
I will be one of those old ladies in a bikini- not this year- but next!
Keep up the good work ladies!

raindancer, welcome! Oh my, I took the dogs on a much later walk than normal because of the garbage trucks in the neighborhood today. Oh my word, was it hot already. Now I see why I walk at 6:45 a.m. The dogs are now asleep, and I feel like joining them!

raindancer - welcome. You will find lots of support here! brandy327 - that's an insane amount of baking! I hate my new insoles in my running shoes...HATE THEM! I have tried the last 2 days to run in them and they pinch my toes and I feel like I have cement on my feet. Today is my rest day so I will try to run in them tomorrow and if they still bug me they are going back. Food wise I'm doing well. Lost a little more this week so now it's 4 lbs from goal weight. I don't think I will get there by next week when we go on vacation (which was my goal when I started) but I will be super close. I have a work dinner to go to tonight. I'm sure everything they serve will be fattening - ugh

Well I am now down 2.2 lbs from yesterday. That is progress. I am down 14 from the end of March when I dared get on the scale.
When I got home from the pool I made 2 soft boiled eggs and had some strawberries. The diet I am doing really works well.
Today may be a rest day as I am kind of stiff and sore. A lot of my joints hurt now. I just need to do some stretches. I will be fine later. Tomorrow will be the gym I guess.
Tofu for breakfast with more strawberries!

needmysanity, are your new insoles made by your doctor? Mine are, and he told me to break them in over the course of 7-10 days. I had to wear them for 2 hours the first day then add an hour each day after that or so. I LOVE them. He said the people that don't break them in generally hate them. Your feet have to get used to them. Maybe try that.

I ended up eating 5 cookies throughout the day...broken ones that couldn't be served except to me. Now I feel really gross and kinda sick. Good news is that I won't touch the damned things tomorrow. I did it...got all 400 cookies baked plus the brownies. I'm going to wait to do the ganache on those until tomorrow. And I'll cut and plate those at the banquet hall.

I'm queen of that bandwagon...AND the falling off. Hi, my name is Brandy and I ate 5 cookies today. Tomorrow I refuse to eat any cookies. LOL It happens...life happens...its most important to just not give up.

So, today, I will find out where I really stand in my journey. I'm not sure I'm ready to find out. LOL Our gym/studio is doing Body Analytics Hydrostatic Body Compositioning Testing, and I'm doing it. I'm pretty nervous. Not so much about the test itself, but of the results. I have no idea what to expect, especially after doing 8-9 classes a week now.
Luckilly, the results are instant, so I will let you know how it was, and what they say. I know I still have some weight to lose, but I am hoping for some positive news. I know what my weight was this morning, and what the internet says my BMI should be, so I am curious to see the difference, and what I need to do to continue this journey, and finally meet my goal.
Wish me luck!

I had some from the running store that my doctor actually recommends but they didn't work for me so he had to end up making them for me.

brandy327 Holy cow! That's a lot of baking! I'm currently baking cupcakes for my boys' (and mine!) French class party--my class and next door will be doing a joint celebration of the last FULL day of school. We still have to go in Monday for a half day and I want to choke the jerk at the State Dept of Ed who thought adding a day to the calendar was a good idea. We're all DONE. I'm impressed you've only had 5! I break way more than that! Patter Ugh! I hate the humidity! Today's been humid here, too! raindancer WELCOME! I'm definitely part of the same group as you--you can do it. We're here for support. needmysanity WTG on the loss! You're so close!!! So, as I said, I'm pretty tapped out right now. I'm counting the HOURS 'til the school year is over. Thankfully all my exams are graded and entered. I just need to check over my recommendations or next year and see if I need to make any changes based on exam scores. Tonight I weigh in for the first time in the evening--have to change my weigh in day due to swim meets on Saturday mornings. I'm nervous about a gain, but if it happens, I'm going to move forward and not freak out over it. I'll likely have a loss next week and that's what I'm going to focus on. I did, however, try to eat fairly light today, so hopefully that will help. I'm looking forward to trying a yoga class this summer. Hoping I enjoy it and can add that to my workout routine.

But now I'm not touching another stinking cookie. I hear you about being done with school. We finished on Tuesday but with the soccer banquet tomorrow, not much has changed here. I'm still running around non-stop, not getting a chance to sleep in or relax...but Saturday...Saturday should feel like vacation (I hope)! You can make it!!!

Hello all,
I tried running yesterday but the heat got to me. Instead of my 3 miles, I came home after 2...boohoo.
I am thinking of signing up for running a marathon next year. I did 3 half marathons this year. I am telling myself that training for a marathon will be a little bit better for my PMS and other issues than thoughts of eating chocolate for breakfast. I haven't signed up yet but I am definitely leaning towards it.

Hey everyone! brandy327 I have zero self-control with cookie dough, so kudos on keeping that mostly in check. I would have no check, none whatsoever, lol. Patter now that summer is officially here in FL I feel like all I do is drink water and pee. Now that school is out though at least I can use the bathroom whenever I want! If I don't stay hydrated I definitely feel puffy. Hi raindancer! *waves* STBC good job swimming in the middle--your confidence will continue to build the more laps you put in. KikiPea, let us know how the test goes--I'm super skeptical of BMI but other results could be interesting. missfrenchjessica, the end is in sight! Hold on! I just finished up a 3 day workshop, so technically tomorrow if my first day of summer--for two weeks, when I have another workshop. At least we get a stipend for attending. It was well worth the time, I just hated all the sitting. Yesterday I wasn't feeling fabulous so I took a rest day and did some yoga. Tonight I got home late from class so I just got back from CrossFit--did the regular class with some friends I don't see too much. It was good! Dips, power cleans, and bar facing burpees. So I had some good coupons for JCPenny's that I went to use after our workshop today. Trying on some cute cropped pants and it was so frustrating. The waist was big enough I could fit more than my entire fist between the waistband and my stomach, but the quads and butt--way too tight. I did find some work pants that should work--I got the same size and style as what I wore today, so I didn't try them on, and when I got home they were also too tight in the quads. Squat problems!!!

Are they Superfeet? They need a break in period (according to their website) to get used to as well. Try wearing them when not running to get used to having them. I wear them in one pair of my running shoes and they did feel "heavier" at first but I do like them for that pair of shoes. They are Spenco - I'm going to wear them tomorrow when I run and see if they feel better. If not I'm going to take them back and see what other options I have.

Chest and triceps!
Flat bench dumbbell press Flat bench dumbbell press pronated grip Flat bench dumbbell Flys Flat bench close grip presses Cable Flys
Cable straight bar push downs Cable straight bar push downs reverse grip Cable kickbacks Overhead extensions on Smith machine
I pressed 50 lb dumbbells 7 times without a spotter. I probably should have had a spotter.
