Yes. It's much better than I expected, even though I knew it had good reviews.
I really enjoyed last night because it was so descriptive of the way the police and lawyers worked.
DH and I actually had an OJ encounter. He struck us as needy of recognition - more than other celebrities that I have seen.

I'm watching. Much better than I expected it to be. I like that they gave a lot of background info on what was going on at that time here in So.Cal. I remember it all. They have really captured how much he separated himself from the African American community.

We caught the first episode on ABC the other night, but we don't get ESPN so I'm going to have to get the library to buy it for me to see the rest. Much, much more interesting than I expected. I only watched because there was nothing else on. As a NZer, the first I had ever heard of OJ Simpson was during the Bronco chase. I had no understanding of his fame, of his being the face of Hertz for all those years - none of that. So that first episode was fascinating for context...

We've watched the first two episodes so far...it really is interesting.
What he's become is so sad when you see what a truly amazing player he was.

Yes, it is very well done. I have been watching some of the episodes ahead on the ESPN website. I was shocked that they showed some very graphic crime scene pictures. I don't know if those have been seen by the general public before.

Is this a different series than was put out several months ago? I tried to watch that but couldn't get past the creepy. I would love to see a different one though.

I am. It's interesting to see all of this so many years later... this whole case is so sad to me...the families never did get any kind of justice. it's so hard for me to understand that that jury let him off..not because of his innocence but because they wanted to use it as a message. and it never changed a thing.

I'm watching. I almost quit after the first episode, because it was sports-intensive and I don't care about sports. I stuck it out, and it is totally worth it. It is really interesting to see the interviews with the various figures, in particular, and I feel like I get OJ more than I did from the 10,000 other things I have watched about this case.

I caught the second and third episode, and I agree, its compelling, even after all these years.
They interviewed a number of people who I haven't heard from before. The pics of the crime scene have been public forever. All you have to do is Google Nicole Simpson crime scene photos and the disturbing pictures come right up..even worse than what they showed on the show. It boggles my mind that people still want to try and claim he's innocent. Ridiculous. He's a murderer and should be rotting away in prison.

I don't think you (general) can understand if you are not black and haven't experienced the atrocities committed by the Los Angeles Police Department that has gone on for decades. I've lived here all my life and have seen it up close. Justice in this country depends on the color of your skin for the most part. A chance for a little pay back was an opportunity taken. Totally understandable to me.

I missed the first episode but saw part of 2, and then 3, last night. (I need to get a DVR so I can stop missing things!) It's excellent.
I was aware of the OJ happenings when they were going on but did not follow closely at all, because it seemed like such a clusterfuck and so many people were trying to aggrandize themselves throughout the whole thing. So I found it really interesting to learn and re-learn about it after the passing of two decades, when I can get the facts distilled down and there's the perspective of time. I hope I can remember to watch the next one tomorrow night. I also want to read The Run of His Life--the author was on the show last night.

Yes! Their 30 for 30 docs are so well done, and this one has been no exception. It's a lot of information I remember, of course, but a lot of new insight and information as well. I've really enjoyed it.

There was a story on NPR's Fresh Air the other night about it that made me set it up to DVR. I haven't watched any of it yet though.
One of the reporters they interviewed on Fresh Air commented that is was outrageous he wasn't convicted of the murders but he takes solace in the fact that he was arrested for the memorabilia heist/Las Vegas thing).

Highly recommend anything ESPN does as far as the 30 for 30 documentaries. They are top notch even if you don't like the subject you are amazed by the storytelling. They touch a variety of sports and subjects. I think one of the very first ones I watched was the SMU "death penalty" incident. Actually the documentaries have been a major contributor to my huge dislike of the NCAA lol! Google 30 for 30- you will not be disappointed! With that said I had no desire to watch this one for some reason. I think I am still fatigued by the whole thing. Part of me hoped I would watch it and the outcome would change (bizarre thinking I know).

The prosecution on the case was really terrible. Several jurors have said that if they'd been presented with all the information, they wouldn't have voted to acquit.

I just watched the first one and I managed to find some empathy for OJ. Something I never thought I would be able to say. I didn't grow up in a sports oriented family so I wasn't really familiar with him, but the background on how "The Juice" came about, how he was almost created, etc. was quite fascinating. (I agree about him being guilty and should rot in prison, but I was surprised at how I gained some understanding of how/why he can't understand when people started hating him). The irony of how he was held up by the black community when he himself tried so hard to separate himself from that community. Also, I had NO IDEA that "The Juice" didn't refer to orange juice. Am I the only one that didn't know that? It's streaming on ESPN for anyone who cares to watch it that way. Made in America

My husband was watching last night and I was completely uninterested. But I sat down and got hooked. I think he watched the 2nd episode and I finally sat down for the 3rd. Now I want to g back and check out the 1st and hopefully we'll catch the last one tonight.
DH and I were newly married, and I remember sitting on the sofa in our little apartment, watching that bronco go down the highway. So bizarre.

I'm not a huge sports person and had no clue who Christian Laettner was, but really enjoyed that one. The Duke Lacrosse episode still makes me hostile.
