Let us know how you are scrapmaven BIL and SIL are in town today (they live three hours away) so we invited them and MIL over for dinner ... I'm making pulled pork in the slow cooker ... it smells really good in here right now BIL is gluten free so no coleslaw ... we're having a big tossed salad instead What's on your menu tonight?

I just searched for a dinner thread and came up with yesterday's. I hope scrapmaven is well. We're having meatloaf with mashed cauliflower and oven roasted cabbage. DH is wanting to cut back on starchy potatoes, so cauliflower it is!

Thinking of scrapmaven! We have someone coming over to take away the final party stuff out of our garage (tables, chairs and coolers). We are going out for pizza tonight. Kind of a celebration of sorts (maybe!), SO's daughter got her first period. She's going into 6th grade. Last week she was have bathroom issues and in the back of my mind I was thinking it was coming. She went to spend the week with her Aunt and cousins and of course she gets it when she's not home. But, she probably felt comfortable being with her mom's sister and cousins. Now the fun begins. Maybe this wasn't dinner conversation?

I have a headache and not much appetite right now. Maybe I'll have cereal later if I feel better. Thanks to a well stocked freezer, DH will enjoy a calzone tonight and broccoli leftover from last night.

Hope everything is ok, scrapmaven It's a fairly warm day here on the coast so I'm going to make myself oriental chicken salad. Will most likely make bean and cheese quesadillas for the boys. No leftovers needed for Dh so I'm able to take the night off!

I hope you feel better soon, tuesdaysgone, and thinking of you, scrapmaven. We had salmon and couscous for dinner....without lentils this time, because I completely forgot. It looked....different...but I just couldn't understand why oh well, I blame it on my chocolate deprived brain.

We've been on a week long hotter than hades stretch in our weather so I've been concentrating on NOT using the oven and either grilling or doing something on the stovetop.
Tonight it's Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry but I also add mushrooms and onions.

Hello, This is what's left of Scrapmaven's brain cell. If you look closely you can see the debris. I am so sorry everyone. leannec , thank you so much for saving the dinner thread. I am fine, but ditzy. This am I woke up and had to take my son to the mechanic to get his car serviced. My plan was to post as soon as I got home. However, I came home and cleaned the kitchen and didn't touch my laptop. I apologize for missing the thread and worrying anyone. Though I really appreciate everyone's concern. Awwww. It's Chipotle dinner night. Thank you again, leannec and those who were concerned. tuesdaysgone, I hope your headache is gone and you feel much better by now.

Don't worry scrapmaven I am sure we have all had a ditzy day! Glad all is well nevertheless!
I forgot to take anything out of the freezer this morning. I took out a filet of salmon this afternoon and since it is 80 degrees in my house I am sure it will be thawed in time for dinner. I have a couple of bagged salads to chose from. That what I am calling dinner, easy squeezy!

I'm making the Caprese Chicken recipe that has been showing up on Facebook every day. I'll check back and let you know if it's the big hit everyone says it is in their homes. DS doesn't like cheese so it could be interesting.

I was going to make chicken soup tonight, but my brother showed up and brought me turkey noodle soup he made (he has become a housewife in his old age). I don't entirely trust his cooking, so I tasted it before putting my chicken stock in the freezer. But it definitely tastes like turkey!
If I'm still hungry after that, I'll make a chicken & cheese quesadilla. Plus there's still some lemon blueberry pound cake.
Actually, my brother made out like a bandit today, now that I think about it. I gave him part of the pound cake, plus most of a big Costco-sized bottle of peach vodka that was just sitting here.

Well, we can handle ditz. All of us get ditzy - this heat is making me permanently ditzy. Gosh, a lot of the RP's are getting pounded with unusual heat. And we got a bad storm last night with flooding in some close areas and another storm headed our way tonight. I had leftovers from cut up sausage and Trader Joe's mixed up rice. And some Doritos - heat makes me want salty stuff. Not so healthy. I'll get to the store tomorrow for the weekend shindigs. Thanks for the thread, leannec , and glad you are ditzy scrapmaven .

I'm so sorry that we didn't get a chance to meet up! After being in your neck woods, I feel that it is entirely too hot for soup lol. After 5 hours at Six Flags my cute coastal kids couldn't take the heat anymore and I think it was only 85ish. You should have seen them try to eat their ice cream cones. It was dripping EVERYWHERE! Enjoy your soup

My girlfriend's DD is getting married on Saturday. Tonight was a BBQ at a local park for all the folks who came in town today. It was hotter than Hades but still nice and fun to meet the groom's family. I've known my girlfriend for 32 years and her DD since the day she was a #5 bag of sugar as I called her. She weighed 5 lbs when I first held her. Nice to have old friends.

We like vinegar based dressings, but his secret recipe has three ingredients. So slaw at our house is always gluten-free.

DH has several friends that fish and are filling my freezer with tuna. A nice piece was transformed into Ginger Sesame Tuna for dinner with grilled vegetables and brown rice.
