Coconut cream slab pie.
Seriously..the most delicious thing I have ever eaten. They describe it as..
"The Coconut Cream Slab Pie (rich and creamy slab pie made with coconut milk and macadamia nut graham cracker crust, topped with praline toasted coconut) will be offered for a limited time through September"
You get a huge piece, big to split with someone or bring half home. It is divine. With a cup of black coffee. OMG.
We went for dinner last night and I'm thinking about my remaining piece sitting in the fridge at home.
The crust is all thick and grahamy, and that praline sprinkling on the top..and the filling is creamy and just coconutty enough. Its rich, but not so rich that it's overly sweet.
Good pie is hard to come by and if you've got a Mimi's Cafe around your parts (looks like the lower half of the states) I highly recommend because it's only available during the summer. LMK if you try it and agree.

Coconut cream pie is my all time favorite! That one sounds really, really good. I'm going to have to think up something to reward myself for and get on over to Mimi's.

The ones here all went out of business. Here too. They had a turkey cranberry brie sandwich I really liked too. I was sad to see them go.

Oh no are you guys kidding me that some have gone out of business? I sure hope the stick around here, its one of my favorite places to go, for breakfast or lunch or dinner when we can't decide what we want. I wish I could send you all a piece.

You know, there ARE some things you could keep to yourself. I did not need to know this... I have one about two miles from my house. If I run there, eat pie, and run home I've negated any calories eaten, right?

My motto is, I'd rather EAT my calories than drink them! (hence the black coffee ). You can get it to go, probably. Then sneak it home, put your feet up and some Netflix...ahh...

In fact the one here was open for a while, completely shut down for a renovation and menu change to something more foo-foo, and then closed down permanently after that. It was totally torn down and there is a sports bar there now. It is good, but eh. Too many tvs and it is distracting. (I am old, what can I say. )

That sounds wonderful! I love Mimi's. There isn't one close by, but it might be worth making a trek.

I'm trying to recover from a major headache right now, but I'm wondering if I can send The Boy to the Mimi's across the river. I think it will make me feel better.

We ate Thanksgiving dinner last year at a Mimi's Cafe outside of Denver last year. The whole meal was outstanding. We don't have Mimi's Cafe in Atlanta.

I love our Mimi's too. But no coconut pie, I'm allergic and it makes my lips look like Steven Tyler's.

Sorry allergy irritant RefuPeas, it sounds amazing to me! Sadly, I hadn't noticed our closest MiMis had closed until this thread.
The closest one is now 45 minutes away, or 1-1/2 hours depending on traffic, and I have no other reason to go there!

We don't have a Mimi's near us, but when we travel we look for one. The last time, though we noticed the menu is smaller and so are those yummy carrot breads. At the most recent one, they made them in Madeleine cookie pans and not loaf pans. I joked with the waitress that next time we get there, they will probably be nuggets!
Someone above mentioned Bakers Square and our local one closed years ago, as well as Marie Callendars!
