I went to Oprah with a friend, ironically I was there when Tom Hanks wife, Rita Wilson, was on the show. It was a makeover show. We all got make up bags, dry shampoo and root touch up kits and a free pair of very fancy silky pajamas that were worth about $100. I gave them to a pea who was sick and having treatments. I forget who now. They were really lovely but waaaay to long on my 5' frame. If I recall she liked them. Why ironically? Because the OP was in the audine for Tom Hanks and his favorite things. I probably should have said interestingly not ironically. I was tired after a day on the lake yesterday.

Don't worry--it wasn't about the incorrect use of ironic (which I never get right). It was my poor reading comprehension.

Years ago I went to a taping of The Price is Right. More recently, I was in an episode of Cesar 911 with my neighbors. One of the neighbor dogs was a problem dog and Cesar came to help him. My dog was in the episode as well.

Ha - we went to Price Is Right - there were 4 of us but we were toward the end of the line and by the time you got in the studio most of the seats were taken so the 4 of us were separated - I ended up in the top right section and nothing was going on up there so no I wasn't on camera. None of our names were called to go up on stage. (This was 7 years ago)
DS and I went to a taping of Jay Leno the tonight show - I think Russell Crow was on and I can't remember the band but I do know for some reason they after the taping they we had to wait while the band re-did their song. I also ended up with a pair of tonight show socks -
Nothing too exciting - unless you consider the Truth Or Consquences taping I went to with the girl scouts 100 years ago (maybe not that many just seems like it)

I went to a taping of the Rachael Ray show in December. It ended up being their last taping before their holiday break so we thought we thought we would get some great gifts. While we were waiting in line outside, we watched the audience from the show taped before ours come out with a ton of gifts including a Ninja coffee maker. We got nothin' ? Curtis Stone was one of the guests.

"That's how you know you've made it in life--you've got someone to put on your shoes!" (I think they perhaps didn't want her to lean over and muss her hair or clothes). Oprah talked on the show about how she could barely walk in her heels, so she would walk out and then put them on.
I saw two tapings of Oprah - both episodes were aired live in Chicago, but at my house in central Illinois, she aired at 4:00 pm. I was able to get home in time to watch the show. One episode had Samuel L Jackson (we had watched his movie Eve's Bayou before the show - so we were there really early!) He was really nice and talked to the audience during commercial breaks. The second was the season premiere for the season which she sang her own theme song. Rosanne was the guest (she was promoting her new talk show.) The following season premiere had a lot of "favorite things" giveaways. I didn't get a giveaway in either one. I was able to see myself each time. I remember having to call for tickets, and I needed to know the names and ages of everyone who was coming with me. My mom went with me both times; one time one of the assistants said that we should have come the day before for the "mothers and daughters" episode.
In college, I went to a taping of The Jenny Jones Show. (Back in the day when all of the cheesy talk shows were popular.) The topic: older women who were addicted to sex. I never saw the show air. We did get Jenny Jones to come over to us so we could ask a question, and she did not look good close up!
ETA: I also got to go to see "Shall We Dance on Ice" two years in a row. The shows were taped to air on ABC. There were a lot of figure skating champions and some Dancing with the Stars pros too (like Maks) They also featured Charlie White and Meryl Davis. Part of the show was skating and part of the show was dancing. They did a lot of retakes so they could get the right camera angles, including doing a lot of the numbers (or segments of a number) for a second (or third!) time. The first year was sponsored by Vera Bradley and we all got a small ID sized wallet as a gift.

My dad got tickets to the Junno awards one year and he took me. The award show is the Canadian music awards. There were many good performers so the show was fun. It was the first time Celine Dion performed in the public eye. She blew us away and we had no idea who she was. She was a teenager at the time.

One of my former co-workers was in the Oprah audience when she gave away the cars. I don't remember all of the details but I know they were there for a really long time and had to sign something. They didn't know what was going on but they knew it was something big because they were there so long and were given refreshments.
She had to pay like $6000 in taxes but the last I knew she still had the car. Her friend couldn't keep it because she couldn't afford the taxes. They didn't tell their husbands they win and took them somewhere to watch the show and that's how they found out. I wouldn't have been able to keep it a secret from my husband.

I was in the audience for the Rosie O'Donnell show once - she was at MGM Studios at WDW. Andy Dick and Dido were the guest. We got Dido's new CD and a bunch of other goodies in a gift bag and she gave us free tickets to WDW - it was a lot of fun.
If any of you use to watch it, she would use a sling shot and shoot out Koosh balls during the commercials and the friend I was with caught one.
