I'm having our family's Father's Day brunch tomorrow and I plan to make Greek salad as part of our meal. I make it all of the time, I'm just looking for tips on making it (one website said to soak the onions??) and serving it.
Has anyone had it served in a neat way or prepared in a neat way? I saw interesting presentation photos. Some had a huge block of feta on top. Others had it on a plate instead of in a bowl.
Thanks for any ideas! Just wanting to try something new.
Paige.

Layer all of the ingredients on a platter and serve it with tongs.

serve in the back of a toy dump truck?
eta: honestly, I'd just serve in in the salad plate or little bowl of your celebratory dish set (we sometimes use the good china and sometimes use decorative paper plates)

We toss all the ingredients (red peppers, tomatoes, English cucumber, Kalamata olives and red onion) with olive oil, vinegar & oregano. Letting these ingredients sit together for a while really combines the flavors. Always serve the feta on the side or add just before serving. The feta will leach moisture from the cucumbers and they don't look pretty very quickly.

I read that real Greek salad has huge chunks of feta on top as opposed to crumbled inside. Now I know why.

A lady I work with served it in cooked (al dente) shell pasta (the big ones) as an appetizer. So, you just pick up the big shell full of salad like a taco and eat it! It was good!

I like the photo, above. You could also do it similar to a 7-layer salad in a glass bowl or trifle bowl. It won't matter how many layers you have. Just end with the feta chunks on top. I love Greek salad.

I too, make Greek salad all of the time. It is my very favorite salad! SkinnyTaste makes a spiralized version and I thought it looked fun, so I tried it. It's a nice twist if you have a spiralizer. LINKI will say the 'noodles' were long so I would serve this with a knife alongside your fork. SaveSave

Make sure you use good feta. Superstore carries a couple of decent types.

Well, DH said it was the best Greek salad I've ever made.
Isliced the tomatoes and seasoned them with salt. I sliced the red onion extra thin and marinated them in olive oil, red wine vinegar, and lemon juice for 3 hours. I added cut bell peppers, cucumber and Greek olives. Then I added the marinated onions (reserved the marinade). I mixed the marinade with dried oregano, whisked it up and poured it over the salad. Right before serving I added in the feta. Very delicious and more flavourful than my basic Greek salad. The onions in it were a hit.
