This is my first actual crop on a little tree I got three years ago. Should I pick what's ripe and keep going back to the tree? The birds are driving me crazy - I've been on anti-bird patrol all weekend. Thanks Peas!

any fruit tree, pick it as it ripens. If you wait for all/most of it to ripen the ones that ripened early will be in various stages of decay.

I miss my cherry trees! We moved and we aren't going to plant fruit trees. Enjoy your cherries, pick as they ripen.

Thanks for that rule of thumb, but to be truthful, my most recent visit (about 1/2 hr ago) out to this tree, in the guise of "harvesting" was in reality just a grazing opportunity. I had no idea how sweet those cherries are! So, yeah - I got the ripe ones, and I will be back.
