I got an email from a local fitness place--they're offering 8 sessions of beginner yoga starting this Tuesday morning. It's on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 4 weeks.
I have to miss 4. I originally thought I'd miss only 5, but I double checked my calendar and I'll have to miss this coming Thursday due to a doctor's appointment; next Thursday for my dd's well visit, and then the follow Tuesday and Thursday because we'll be out of town.
So, I'll have 2 classes in and then 2 classes to go...Is it worth it; would you go?
ETA: I haven't paid anything yet for it. I had contacted the instructor when I thought I'd only miss 3 dates and she was willing to let me pay per class since I couldn't do the whole session. So, I'm not out any money at this point.

If you can pay by the class, I guess I would go. If not, definitely don't go. Find something else. Sometimes it just works out like that. Life gets in the way.

Yes! If you pay by the class, totally go! If you have to pay for them all up front, then it wouldn't be worth it, unless you don't have to do them all in a row.

I wouldn't go. It's a beginning class, and unless you've done yoga before you might not be able to catch up all the poses in the last two classes.

I think I would wait and do one where you can go to more of the sessions. Since this is for a specific number of weeks, I'm assuming she is going to build on what you learned in the last sessions. If you miss some, you may be tempted to keep up and not be ready for some of the poses.

I would wait until I could take more, if not all, of the classes.

Thanks everyone.
I'm still not sure what I'll do. I can't really reschedule my or my daughter's doctor appointments--I scheduled them 6 weeks ago and the facility we go to is booked solid. Getting another appointment at this late date won't happen. I really don't want to wait into the summer for them. Dh has limited time off so him taking dd to the doctor's isn't going to happen.
I contacted the instructor to get her opinion on whether I should go or not. We'll see how she replies. I'm kind of inclined to not go just because I will be missing several classes in a row. Still mulling it over

4 out of 8 is a lot to miss, I personally wouldn't bother. Will they be offering the class again?

See what the instructor says...if she will allow you to pay only for classes you can take that's great. When I run my beginner classes we add new poses each class, but we keep practicing the poses already learned, until the last class which is styled just like a one of our regular classes. So you should be able to stay connected. Beginner classes usually are have more detailed explanation of how to get into and out of poses and very easy to follow....
