Good Tuesday morning, my friends!! I feel SO good this morning! I didn't sleep well, woke up to lots of thunder and lightning around 3am, but it's supposed to be cooler today (80s instead of 90s) and I'm looking forward to being outside a bit! I can't remember if I mentioned my official weigh in yesterday was up almost half a lb but this morning I'm down almost 2 so I'm happy to see that. I was back on track 100% yesterday with eating and got my exercise in. Today I'm debating on what to do for exercise. While I did run yesterday it was back to intervals for the C25K (vs a solid 20 min run the time before)...so I kind of want to just run but not do the C25K. So I'm considering that. If I don't do that, I'll do the elliptical, bike and walking on the treadmill. I still haven't taken the time to put together some sort of lifting routine. It's one of my goals to get done this week. I thoroughly enjoyed my day of not doing a damned thing yesterday. It was about 94 degrees here and too hot to do too much so it was a perfect day to do nothing. Today though I have stuff I want to get done. Some cleaning projects that I've been putting off because I just haven't had the time. And then next week I want to get some painting done - window sills and doors. I hope you all have a wonderful day today! Stay strong ladies! We can do this!! We've already made it almost a full 6 months!!

Good morning! I'm dragging today. All three of older kids have baseball games on Mondays and Wednesdays. Went to the younger ones game first then to the older. The middle one had a double header in a town over an hour away (due to one of the games being rained out last week). He and DH didn't get back until almost midnight. I feel like I haven't been getting enough sleep lately and have been really tired.
Getting ready to do today's workout before taking the kids to their activities then to work. Trying to eat light today in hopes of losing what I gained over the weekend.
Have a great day!

Good morning!
Heading to OrangeTheory a bit later with my dd who has been thrilled with her results. Not that she is losing weight, she's just cross training and building more stamina. I don't know.. she looks pretty fit and no where near as spent as the rest of us at the end of class.
I need to regroup my efforts on healthier eating. My weight did drop down to a bit below where it was in May, but it is now nearly the end of June and I am fluctuating from that point to about 2 pounds heavier. Not making my 0.5 lb per week progress by any means. Starting today with more water because I know I've been slacking. Picked up some fruit last night because we don't have any in the house. I know I snack at least once a day and I need something healthy to reach for. If I don't have a good choice, I'll grab a lesser choice or worse.
Dd is only home for 4 more days. Kind of bummed, knowing that this is the longest stretch she will be home this year (20 days) and it doesn't look like we'll get this again next year. Weird to think that it might not ever happen again. She's only 19. Doesn't seem fair that we are suddenly at this point in life!

brandy327, glad you enjoyed your relaxing day yesterday. I may try that today as we don't have to go anywhere since DD is sick. Can I say this illness has been a blessing to me? Am I a bad mom or what? LOL! And melissa, it doesn't seem fair that our kids grow up and move on. I am still trying to get used to it myself. It's hard for sure! And I too need to get to the grocery for more apples, etc. Hope to be useless today. I want to paint and enjoy today. We will see if I can make that happen. The dogs are a bit wild so need to tucker them out first. DD#1 and DD#2 are at work and enjoying what they do so that is comforting. Not sure what will be for dinner yet. Need to ask the two girls what they want. Enjoy your day everyone!

I hate this too...mine is 20 and waiting to get into the Air Force...she is staying with relatives and making more money than she could here. I walked .5 miles before work and 1 mile during lunch. Drank 2 24 oz bottles of water, trying to work more on that...

Good morning! Yesterday was my day to get back to my routines, including working out. I am happy to report that I actually felt great on both my walk and on the rowing machine. I was a little worried for nothing. I was busy as a bee all day and got a horrible sinus headache around three o'clock. I felt terrible the rest of the day but I had my dinner planned out which helped. The Whole30 book mentioned that day one and two should be fine but days 3-7 might include headaches/carb flu symptoms. I don't think that is what was going on with me-- I have a long history of sinus problems which is what started this whole quest.
Today I am getting my hair colored and I am looking forward to getting rid of my grey roots.
Day two of Whole30 is all planned out- same breakfast and lunch as yesterday (which doesn't bother me) and grilled pork chops for dinner. I made a cherry rhubarb compote to go with the pork chops from some rhubarb I got in my weekly CSA. Finding recipes for rhubarb without sugar is almost impossible so when I found this one I had very low expectations but I made it over the weekend and it is pretty good.

Oh sweet routine, how I love thee! I got my workout in this morning - I did run. I didn't do the C25K today, just did my own thing. I walked for 5 mins, ran for 15, walked for 5, ran for another 10 and then walked for 5. Almost 2 miles. And then I scrubbed my bathroom tub and deep cleaned my bathroom. I've already met my steps for the day!!

Morning!
This has been a great morning so far.
Today was the last day of my 10 week squat program, so to finish it out I had to test my 1 rep max (the heaviest back squat you can do for 1 rep). I PR'd my old one rep by EIGHTEEN pounds! I was hoping for at least 8, maybe 13 if I was lucky. I had a plan A, B, and C in my head for numbers I wanted to hit and I got them all. Super excited. I had to be very patient through the process, knowing the numbers would keep going up as long as I didn't rush things and get into my own head. As soon as I got under the bar for my last lift I know I would make it. My coach that was spotting me was laughing because I was jumping all over the place.
Stuck around for the regular class workout (3 rounds of 20 calorie row, 40 box jump overs, 50 situps with 3-5 minutes rest between each round) and now I'm going to settle in for some editing while DD is in art camp. I did get some meal prep done yesterday (deviled eggs, chicken salad (both made with plain whole milk greek yogurt vs. mayo), garlic butter asparagus, baked sweet potato, and chicken.
I read this really powerful post on Instagram from an Olympic weightlifter about body image. I'll come back later and post it.
Have a great day!

I don't know.. she looks pretty fit and no where near as spent as the rest of us at the end of class. I just found out that OrangeTheory will be coming to my town later this year. I will have to check it out! Yesterday was a rest day for me. We wanted to take the border collie out on the trail for a walk, but right as we walked out the door, it started raining. It didn't last long, so we were able to get a walk around the block, but that's just not the same - especially for a border collie. DH and I also attended a fix-a-flat clinic at the local bike shop. They offer it free a couple times a month. It was hands on, so I changed my own bicycle tire (the rear tire!) while they walked me through it step-by-step. I bought a couple CO2 cartridges (for filling a new tube) in case I have a flat out on a ride. I also bought another water bottle cage for my bike (I had one, but really wished I had more water on my long ride this past weekend.) I eyed the shoes while I was there, but I am not ready to "clip in" for my rides. If I get new pedals/shoes, I will do it over the winter when I can practice indoors on a trainer. I'll put them on my Christmas wish list ;-) Tonight also will be a rest night - going to the annual awards dinner for my dog training club. Bad day for food all around - it is a food day at work and I already caved (I had been so good about resisting these for months - why now???) Will have some work to do the rest of the week!

littlefish Your workouts always make me tired just reading them. And I thought mine were hard!
I have legs with shoulders today and am already having trouble with my shoulder. Maybe rotator cuff? I'm icing it now. I noticed it when I was doing wide grip presses on the shoulder press machine. How could I screw that up? I was seated, but it was 40 lbs- which is kind of heavy for me. And I'm supposed to do them again today. I may have to ask about that. Why do you always get injured when you're making progress? So frustrating!

Can this week go by any slower?!?!?!? I swear Saturday will never get here - we are all so excited to leave for the coast.
Ate great yesterday, had a good run too. It's over 100 degrees this week so I'm on the treadmill instead of outside. Funny how after years of thinking runners were crazy I love being one of them now.
Today is treadmill walking with an incline and arm weights. No clue what we are doing for dinner - I forgot to take something out to defrost.

I went to PiYo yesterday evening. It was hard! My lunges aren't nearly low enough but I feel like I am working so hard. I ate pasta today for lunch. I have been drinking cucumber water like crazy. My exercise today is going to be decluttering and cleaning.

IT'S FINALLY SUMMER!!!! No more school for me until the end of August! I'm so happy! Our department celebrated by going to Bonchon--a Korean fried chicken place. I got the chicken strips--they weren't really "fried" like I imagined, but had a crispy "something" to them. I only ate half of mine (about 8 strips) because they messed up and gave me half garlic soy, half spicy. I tried the spicy and HOLY CRAP, no. Just no. I don't usually do spicy, but this was more than I could handle. I also had kimchi as a side. I ate around 1...and I'm freakin' starving! Just had a snack of a boiled egg and some veggies. Hoping that keeps me going for a bit. I'm trying to not go nuts with the food. It's been really up and down with the food this week and I'm trying really hard to keep a handle on it. Oh, I DID YOGA THIS MORNING! Wahhoooo! I didn't die. I didn't tip over. I didn't look like a complete fool. The instructor was lovely and very reassuring. She kept checking our positions and making sure we were in the right positions. I felt pretty strong. It's amazing how much muscular strength you need to keep the proper position in yoga! Definitely felt it in my legs, arms, and abs. Yay! I'll go back next Tuesday (can't make it) and then when I'm back from vacation. I'm excited that I actually enjoyed it! Tonight I'm doing a step circuit class. Not sure what it will be like, but I'm going to try it out. This is going to be one heck of an active summer!

Good afternoon.
I am happy to report that the bee situation seems to be turning around. The swelling is going down. Something I did last night or this morning must have helped.
I got my BBM workout done and plan on running later this evening if the foot continues to feel okay. I was supposed to run yesterday, but, you know.
My hubby is home from his trip and he walked in the door with some See's Peppermint Patties for me. God love that man.

missfrenchjessica YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy for you!! TankTop - Glad your foot seems to be on the mend!! Soooooooooooo ladies...how often do you replace your sports bras? I pulled one out today and it had that funky smell that you get when something is mildewy. I've had towels that haven't fully dried end up smelling like that. Anywho...that particular bra is no less than 7 or 8 years old...and it was once white, and it's now a nasty gray. LOL So needless to say that one and it's match has now been tossed. But now that means I'm down 2 sports bras. I have one from Victoria Secret that I LOVE...as long as I don't wear it. LOL It looks pretty but it's too narrow under the arms and gives me wicked muffin top above the bra/in my armpits. It's gross. I think that leaves me with 4 or 5 sports bras. And 2 of them are new within in the last 3 mons. I really need a few more but I HATE spending the money on bras...especially sports bras. And since we're on the subject, what are your favorite brands? And where do you get them?

brandy327 I'm zero help in the sports bra department. I'm in need of some that actually fit right and don't give me the uni-boob look. So far, no luck-and like you, it's not something I really like to spend money on. Oh, so not only did I do yoga, I did my step-circuit class today. Let's just say Jell-O is less wobbly than my legs tonight! Ack! It also confirmed how desperately weak my abs are. Holy heck! The sit-ups, leg lifts, and bicycle things about killed me. Hopefully by the end of the summer I'll be rocking them out. So, I need to hop in the shower and figure out what else to eat--I'M STARVING! My bowl of cereal is not hitting the spot like I thought it would.

I HATE spending the money on bras...especially sports bras. And since we're on the subject, what are your favorite brands? And where do you get them? For really high-impact things, I do have a couple of super-compression nice ones that actually have wire too. I'm large-chested, and honestly though, the one from Walmart for $10 are good enough for Zumba/yoga classes and basic workout videos. If I were doing something like burpees or lots of jumping, I'd get out the good ones. But I've been very impressed with the Walmart one I bought when comparing it to a $35 Champion (or similar) brand basic style that I bought at a sporting goods store. I didn't want to spend much because I was just buying it for comfort after a biopsy, but I've since used it for exercising and it is fine. I'd happily buy a few more of those for lower impact activities. A bunch of my favorite workout clothes have come from Walmart - their $10-$14 workout legging capris are excellent too, no shifting or bunching or riding up/sliding down.

Lol!
I have seen a lot of nice ones at TJ Maxx.

brandy327 I'm no help with the bras, either. I have several of the tanks with the built-in bras that I wear to gym, but they are getting harder and harder to find. I did buy a couple of bras with wild colors at Academy, but they are nothing special. Looks like I have 1 giant boob- I do wear a thin tank over it- so at least you can only see a bit of color. There was a couple on Shark Tank that made one that looked good- I think they were kind of expensive. Found them- Here's the link.
I made it through my workout- trainer adjusted my shoulder and it feels much better. Tomorrow is a rest day- I need it- my entire body aches and plus I have a headache.

While I've lost like 8" from my boobs, I'm STILL like a 36-38 D. I had been a 42DD at one point. I have a lot of excess skin so if I wear a bra that fits well around me...it pushes all that excess skin up and over the top of the bra under my arms. LESS than attractive. I actually bought an Under Armour one at TJ Maxx for $15 a couple of months ago and I have to say, it's not good for high impact but it's perfect for comfort with the lower impact stuff.

LOL I'll have to check out the workout capris though!

Today has been a rough day. Youngest DS always has a hard time going to daycare (and has been that way since he was a baby) but is fine when he gets there. He hasn't been there since early last week due to my mom being here and then he was still sick yesterday. This morning he wanted to stay home with the older two and was being a pill--refusing to put his clothes on, talking back, etc. Then he decided to hide from me. I couldn't find him anywhere and was really irritated. I was late for work and the rest of the day was downhill. Didn't have my food packed since I was dealing with him. I had to drive a lot today and was so tired it was painful to try to stay awake. Then daycare called and said that he had red diarrhea and she wanted him to get picked up. Within half an hour kidstop called and said that the 7 year old had a temp of 102.5 and needed to be picked up. DH was able to get them since I was out of town. He took youngest to the dr and they are trying to get a stool sample. So far no luck. So, tomorrow I anticipate having another sick child. I hope nobody else gets it and that it doesn't hang around as long as it did for the youngest.
