I know this is last minute but my DD, her BF and I are heading from Houston to Belton for my grandmother's 100th birthday and we're going to be there probably an hour or two before the party starts. We're going to be hungry so we need to find a place that's not Jane hopefully and certainly not fast food. Any ideas?

Hi,
Belton is my hometown, and I visit frequently. Miller Bar B Que is outstanding, and it is right downtown across the street from the First Methodist Church. There are two good Mexican places--one on Central Avenuemain drag through downtown), and one down by the Gin--behind the courthouse. There is also another bar b que place on Central--Schoefs--but Miller was voted one of best in Texas. Crow's Hamburgers is awesome(homemade), and it is on Old Waco Road and 6th Street.
Happy eating, jamh
