Has anyone given their dog Rescue Remedy ? My Sandy is soooo scared of the fireworks and tons of firecrackers going off. Last year I finely crushed a teeny bit of Xanax in some ice cream and it worked really good for her. She seemed so much better but was not knocked out at all. The next night ( which was going to be noiser than the first night) she wanted nothing at all to do with that ice cream trick !!! Gosh they are so very smart. I've heard some say that they have given Rescue Remedy to their dogs with seemingly good results. Any advice is greatly appreciated. We have a golden mix who is terrified of loud noises (thunder, fireworks, etc.) to the point of completely losing control of his bowels. I spoke with our vets office last week in anticipation of the 4th, and they suggested Rescue Remedy. I could not find it locally, so I ordered it from Amazon. People around here started with fireworks last night, and it will continue on through half of next week. I followed the directions and put 4 drops on a treat. It was AMAZING! He calmed down immediately and curled up on the floor. But he wasn't groggy or out of it at all. Just very calm. It works super fast, but I don't know how long it lasts. All I know is that I gave it to him around 9 pm, went to bed around midnight, and there were no accidents found when we awoke this morning. This will be a game changer for our family!

Btt I didn't think I had an issue because thunderstorms don't phase the pups but a neighbor was shooting off fireworks last night (they are illegal in MA ) and Dakota was shaking. He jumped in to DH's lap and sat square on his chest. I ended up taking him with me to bed. So I'm glad we'll be home all weekend.

Thanks 61redhead for the reply. I, too, can't find it around here and I've waited too long for Amazon. Darn it. I think tonight will be worse than tomorrow, so I think I can sneak her that teeny bit of Xanax one time. Her and I both need a break from this craziness. Thanks again.

Thank you Furry pea for bumping this up/our FW was canceled til this coming week end....to much rain You're welcome! I bump it again now because the fireworks will be starting soon in my neck of the woods. My babies are quite calm and napping right now. They won't be so happy once they start hearing the noise. But they do not get so bad that they need to take anything. Just turning up the volume on the tv helps. Save
