Good morning ladies!! I hope everyone is having a successful week!! I'm doing pretty well! I've gone back to eating as few processed foods as possible and I'm doing ok. The most I've had in the way of processed foods is some pretzels, whole grain tortilla, cheese and salad dressing. All in all, not too bad. Today I'm dropping the kids off at my MILs and then I'm going shopping in search of some skirts and dresses. I'm finding that I really enjoy wearing them and I only have one shorter casual dress - the rest are maxi dresses. I think I'll probably hit Target...maybe Old Navy. I don't want to spend very much because I hope to not be in this size long. I put together this comparison photo yesterday so I thought I'd share with you ladies. 1998 v 2016 More than 150 lbs. Still blows my mind at times. Anyway, I hope you ladies have a wonderful day! Keep up the hard work! You girls can do this!!

Brandy, I love seeing your comparison photos! You are doing great.
I've haven't been eating well the last few days and need to get back on track. I have been so tired and feeling "blah" and I don't think that is helping (along with pms). Of course the more tired I am, the less motivation I have for things like cooking and prepping food. I'm about to do my BBM workout now.

brandy327 WOW! You go girl! Your transformation is amazing! WTG! Have fun shopping!!! It's one thing I'm looking forward to this fall is getting some nice, new clothes for work. I've been wearing the same stuff for over 5 years now because I HATE clothes shopping with a passion of a thousand burning suns! Hopefully, come fall, I'll have more choices and I'll feel better about clothes shopping. iamkristinl16 I totally hear ya on the pms. It's killing me this month! Hang in there--it will get better soon. Just got back from dropping the boys off at CCD classes. Did a 6 a.m. boot camp class that kicked my behind! And I loved every minute of it! Love the people, love the instructor. So great and supportive. I've decided to hold off on my walk today as I'm card runner again tonight for our swim meet. Between all the chores I have to do and that, I'm sure to get all my steps in. Not to mention when I went to the laundry room to grab the empty water bottles for delivery today I saw PILES and PILES of half dried laundry my boys left. I want to scream! Loads and loads of laundry to do that I hadn't planned and now the stuff I do need to get cleaned will have to wait. I swear it's a good thing they're cute and harming your children is illegal 'cause man!!!!! Having some breakfast here. I'm seriously getting bored with my food...ugh! I'm having some fresh mozarella cheese over some toast and tomato with a nectarine and coffee. Always coffee! Ok...off to check on laundry and start cleaning. Ugh! Have a great day everyone!

brandy327, your picture just brings tears to my eyes. You are amazing. My daughter just loved how you look and said "I love her hair." @imkristinl16, I haven't eaten well the past few days either as I have been out of town. I feel icky too but back to the plan today. I love how God shows me how bad I feel when I don't eat right. That feeling really helps me jump back on plan quickly. Love that. missfrenchjessica, I too get bored with food at times so that's when I get a day of fun then back to program. That usually helps. Also switching up my snacks every now and then helps too. I am so tired from our trip but it was good. Now I hope to paint this morning before taking DD to cardiac rehab and picking up the dogs from the kennel. Back to the rat race we go. Have a great day everyone!

I attempted to go out for a run last night, but it didn't go well. I had a limited amount of time, and spent much of it getting ready to run and then getting the dogs fed/pottied before I left. Still had time to get a few miles in, but I just couldn't get myself "into" the run. My knee was still bothering me a little and I did not put on my knee support. It just wasn't a good run, which was unfortunate because it was a beautiful night for a run. Ended up back at home with just under a mile recorded. I didn't even feel like going for a little longer so it would go to a mile. Funny thing was that my limited time was due to having to go to an informational meeting about the half marathon training group which starts next week. I'm going to have my work cut out for me if I can't even make a mile right now. We have a five mile race coming up on Monday too. It's my first time running in it - it's one of the big ones in town each year. I'm hoping to find one of my running buddies to run with me, because I am not going to be able to complete it on my own. Tonight I plan to ride my bike and also work my dog in agility. (Side note...did anyone see the border collie on AGT last night??? Amazing dog. Looks a little like my BC.)

Brandy- you look incredible!! You are such an inspiration to me- you have worked so hard and it shows! I was at Kohls last night and bought some dresses there. They were having a sale, so it worked out to be about the same price as the couple of dresses that I bought at Target last week. Kristin- I hope that pms goes away fast! Missfrenchjessica- Glad you enjoyed your boot camp class! And you breakfast sounds delicious to me Patter- Glad you had a good trip! Brab74- I hope you can find a good running buddy to train with. A half marathon is on my bucket list- I have a local friend who runs them, but I am just not at a point where I can train with her yet. Hopefully by next spring. Thanks so much for the warm welcome yesterday. It was fun to get on the computer this morning and have notifications. I got out and did my walk this morning, but the stinking gps was all screwed up, so it thinks that I walked 3+ miles in 30 minutes. Not so much!! Dd has a flute lesson this afternoon and ice skating tonight so I will be on the go most of the day. Everyone have a great day!

I love seeing your comparison pics brandy327. We got a call last night at 9:00 pm that a landscaper we have been talking to about buying some plants and shrubs has a free day today and could do all the plants and shrubs and labor for an awesome price. We were going to just buy the supplies from him and do it ourselves, but the deal is killer and with Dh's schedule we would never get it done. I am waiting on them to arrive. I am so freaking excited! However, this has thrown my routine off. Once they are here and underway, I will do my BBM and then run tonight during ds's practice. Oh, in other exciting news.... My brother is a private/corporate pilot. Ds, 11, had been dying to fly with him for a long time. He will get to sit in the cockpit and just observe everything. Well, my brother called this morning and has a quick 5 hour flight tomorrow morning. He is going to get approval to take ds with him. Ds is going to flip if this works out! Serious bucket list item for him.

The last 2 weeks or so have been a disaster! We have had family birthday parties a wedding, a lake trip and family in town. I have had overnight guests the last 8 days. They are leaving today so hopefully things calm down. I haven't had any time to meal prep and I have only been getting in 3 workouts a week.
The scale has stayed within the same 1 or 2 pounds from where I was, so that is good!! This weekend I plan on getting back on track with food prep.
Lunchtime kickboxing today! I love that class!!

Good morning! Love the comparison, Brandy!
My weight is holding steady - as it has for the last how many months. Getting in my workouts fine, but this knee pain is really holding me back. I'm avoiding squats as they seem to exacerbate it. :/
I really want to get focused to get this last 10 lbs or so off. Just can't get to the right mental place for more than a few days. Frustrating.

Love your befores and afters brandy327 Day of rest for me. It wasn't the leg curls that got me yesterday- it was the preacher curls. My left wrist is hurting- I've been icing and looking into wrist wraps. Can't- won't get injured! I'm not sure how much more weight this body can lift though...
Those of you who lift, how do you know when you've plateaued?
Have a good day, ladies!

TankTop, how fun for your son!!! My dad was a pilot so I grew up with that very fun stuff. When I was little, I thought everyone's dad was a pilot, and I didn't think it was a big deal. As I got older, I was always in awe of my dad (and still am). And the company hubby works for has 3 corporate jets. He flies it a lot around the country. He gets to see some fun stuff that way. Your son is going to LOVE it! Update when you can!

Also, before you joined us we discussed another great app for safety... link I have passed along that safety app to quite a few people - it's awesome. I have been using it here on vacation which is nice since I'm running in areas I really don't know. Makes DH feel much better about me going out in the am. I use the Nike+ app for my gps. I like that is tracks my shoe miles and I can add my treadmill runs manually.

Good Morning - Our vacation is half way over ;(...I'm sad it's going by too quickly. I ran this morning and it was the first run that I didn't feel like I was dying. Running in humid weather kicks my butt - it's so different than the dry weather back home. But I was under my 5K pace which was my goal so that was a good thing. We cooked in the condo last night which was so nice - best food of the trip. Still eating way too many snacks but I know that will stop once we are back home. I'm geeking out cause today we are off to the Ronald Reagan Museum. He was my favorite President and I'm super excited to go to the museum today. After that we are heading to the outlet malls for some retail therapy.

I use Map My Fitness, but I don't think it is the app- I have had gps issues off and on with my phone and dh has as well. I also have the RoadID app, but I haven't been walking alone so I have not used it yet. Typically I walk in the morning with dh, but once school starts in the fall that will probably have to change.

I like Map My Run. They have a walking version as well. I have a Garmin, but I also upload the data to MMR because that's what I had started with. I use MMR to record my walks at work and my bike rides as well - just change the setting from run to walk or ride
I've had a few GPS issues in the past week with my Garmin.
ETA: I also like to upload to Strava because it will show trends if you run the same routes over and over.

Hey everyone! I apologize, I haven't had a chance to read the posts yet but hope to check in tonight and read. brandy327, love seeing your pics! Today is going better than the chocolate milk and salami kind of night I had last night. Still incredibly busy with barely any down time, but I had a 20 minute hole here where I could eat the lunch I packed before a 4 hour marathon meeting that's about to start. I actually did end yesterday on track -- macros ended where I wanted them. Even though the dinner was an odd choice, I think there's something to be said for eating what sounds really good at the moment. I knew if I hadn't gotten that chocolate milk, I would have been scrounging for something that satisfied all night and probably today too. Obviously you can't just go with what sounds good all the time, but I can tell the difference between "Yeah, I'd like to eat that" and "OMG that is the only thing that sounds good and I won't be happy with anything else." When it's the later, I'm better off just eating it first, otherwise I eat 4 other things trying to be satisfied and usually end up eating the original thing anyway to make the craving go away. I didn't get in exercise as I planned yesterday but did get a good number of steps thanks to being at our corporate offices which are kind of spread out. I was so so so tired and overworked last night, I decided to give myself grace and just go to bed rather than trying to squeeze in a 15 minute workout I would have been miserable during. I don't regret that! I am going to exercise tonight though, and I'll do another day this week to make up for missing yesterday.

brandy327 WOW! Thats an amazing transformation. TankTop that seems like a cool app. AN I'll have to check out that Fairlife milk. Someone at WW was mentioning it but I caught the tail end. I was leary also that it was Frankenmilk. I've been avoiding drinking much milk since WW changed their program again, 5 sp for a glass of 2 percent. Got my 10,000 steps in yesterday, a little bit over too. Went on a couple of walks with my youngest to give myself a boost. It's cooled off nicely here so we took advantage. I want to try to do that daily. In one of our last WW meeting they talked about de-cluttering. So, I tackled my side of the closet and my dresser today. I held on to so much junk. I had summer shirts I was hanging onto from when I was at my lowest 7 years ago, I finally put in the donate pile. I said once I get back in that size I'll treat myself with some new stuff.

I have been so busy with work lately that I haven't been very active on this thread-- (after just joining this thread about a month ago!) Trying to be more participatory. brandy327 -- you look fantastic!! Hard work does pay off and you are proof of that. I am still going to my Barre classes about 4-5x/week which is a big routine change for me. I bought a 3 month membership and am nearly at the end of the 3rd month and plan on renewing. This is the first time in forever that I have sustained a regular exercise routine and I actually enjoy it!! I turned 50 last week -- still trying to adjust my brain to that! I finished my most recent Whole30 eating plan just before my birthday (yeah I planned it that way ) but I didn't have much "scale success" this past time and that felt really discouraging since I didn't cheat, I followed the plan and I can barely tell a change (if I depend on the scale) but I can see a difference in my overall shape. (Though I tend to attribute that more to my exercise routine than the eating.) Anyhow, trying to get energized again to continue with positive changes with the eating plan.

brandy327 amazing before and after pics!! I will not be working from the 1st to the 5th, and it will be a staycation. So cleaning mostly, getting rid of clothes and books and whatever is not needed anymore. Purging. I hope to keep eating good, I worry because when I am not a work I eat crappier. We shall see. So how do you ladies stay motivated to work out?? I have been having issues finding time to do it, and WANT to do it.

I'm on a 4 day roll of eating well and exercising. Seems a little silly to celebrate just four days, but I know most of you will understand. The thing to remember is that good days tend to lead to more good days. I wake up excited because I feel good about these small successful days.

Thank you all so much for the nice words. It helps take the sting away from clothes shopping today. I'm having myself a little pity party. The good news is that it seems I'm officially into a size large in most things. Coming from a 3X-4X, that's huge. But as I was trying things on, it's disappointing that my body shape (excess skin) won't allow me to wear certain things. I know I can have it removed, and likely will, down the road but until then, it's disappointing. Anyway, I hit the mall and looked for dresses at Target...nothing really caught my eye there. I typically don't shop much at JC Penny but I stopped in there and found like 4 dresses to try on. I tried on 2 in a size XL and 2 in a L and both XLs were too big. So I bought one of the 2 size Larges. Then I went to TJ Maxx looking for skirts...I tried on 5 of them and bought 2. The other 3 fit but with my roll of excess skin, they weren't flattering at all. I feel like I have at least a little bit of a choice now. I only had 1 shorter (meaning not maxi) skirt and it's 2 sizes too big and I've just been wearing a belt with it. So I have 2 that actually fit now.

Do any of you struggle with overestimating how much food will fill you? I'm not sure if this is because of being morbidly obese for so long or if this happens with everyone that's lost weight. But when I sat down this afternoon to plan out what I was going to have for dinner, I was starving. So I planned 2 full whole grain tortillas, 6 oz pork, 2 oz of cheese to make a full quesadilla. And then I figured 2 cups of lettuce and 1 tbsp dressing for my side. When I got ready to make it, I realized that 1 cup of lettuce was probably good. And then I ended up using only 4 oz of pork, 1 tortilla and 1 oz of cheese. It was more than enough!!

Hey guys! Just checking in really quick. It's been a full 4-5 days! Slowly working on getting my food back on track. DD and I had a fun-filled time these last few days--beach, soccer, Sea World...but now she's back with her dad and today and tomorrow I'm in a workshop. We were so busy having fun I didn't get my grocery shopping in until tonight, and our only option for lunch was subs with chips and cookies from Publix. I ate one part of a sub and a piece of cookie. I don't eat much bread but I needed to having something more than a slice of cheese and a slice of meat on my stomach. They already told us there's pizza tomorrow, which I definitely cannot eat (makes me sicker than a dog!) so I did get in my shopping tonight and will bring my own food tomorrow.
I caught a kettlebell wrong doing snatches last night and my wrist got whacked pretty hard, and swelled up right away. Resting tonight and icing it up some more. It's still swollen and my mobility isn't great. I can put weight on it though, which is good. If it's still painful tomorrow I'll go in and get it checked out.
Hope everyone is having a great week! I'll try to check in tomorrow and reread what's been going on!
