I love cotton candy! How do you use it to decorate cakes?
By the way, love your new avatar!

We don't use ours often, but enjoy it when we do.

There is a couple things I want to try.
Cake pops.
And tops for cupcakes.
That you, she was my feather baby, I miss her a lot.

OT but I thought the duck was the feather baby? Or the old woman? What happened to them?

I just bought one for my teen. She asked for it for her birthday. It will make cotton candy out of hard candies (in addition to the sugar mixes).

I just ordered one for MIL for her birthday. My kids are visiting her so they'll have fun playing with it together i think. Thanks for the idea.

The cake pop turned out really cute! But it melted way to fast for what I wanted to use it for.

I always wanted one and never got one because it seemed like a silly thing to spend money on. Then at one point years later, my wheeler dealer DH found someone selling off the contents of their concessions trailer and he bought me a full sized commercial one! We used it for sidewalk sales when he had his store, street festivals, etc. I have it in my basement. We haven't fired it up in a long time, but I expect once the PTA at DD's school figures out that we have one they'll bug us to use it.

Yeah, that may not work the way you think it will! I found that out the hard way. I made some cupcakes for a friend's birthday once and spent a small fortune on a bag of pashmak (Persian fairy floss - a grown up version of cotton candy)..which cost about $14 for a small bag. I iced the cupcakes and put a generous/dramatic swirl of pashmak in each one. They looked stunning. I carefully packed them into my cupcake carrier and when I got to the party I took the lid off...and there was not a single strand left, just a few pink water spots on the frosting In less than an hour the it had completely dissolved. If I ever do that again, I've now learnt that you can't decorate with it in advance, you need to put it on literally a few minutes before serving them because any moisture from the cake or the frosting will just melt it.

I am thinking that a cup cake liner might work.

Do you use cotton candy fluff as is or am I missing something? I was hoping I could swill it around cake pops( with a candy coating). It is very cute but melts to fast. So I might try cutting "leaves" out of cupcake liners and using the fluff as puffy flower or cloud.
