Though today is typically a bbq day dh is going to make a new recipe, chicken sausage, gnocchi and veggie skillet. Dh picked some veggies from the garden and will use an ear of corn fresh from our favorite stall at the farmer's market.
What's on your menu?
Have a great day everyone. I wish everyone a wonderful week w/lots of happiness.

We're making fajitas with the steak that we grilled on Saturday. I'm glad that was the plan, because we are socked in with rain.

One of my brothers decided last night to have a BBQ today. I know we'll be having potato salad (I made it) but I'm not sure of the rest of the menu. I'm guessing grilled hamburgers, hot dogs and sausage.

We were supposed to grill hot dogs and hamburgers, but it's super hot here today. I took mercy on DH, who would have been the one standing in the heat to grill, and told him I'd use the Foreman instead.
I'm making green beans, mac and cheese, and pasta salad. We'll have watermelon for dessert.

Not brownies. I am in for a quiet fourth this year but I may run up to Publix for some fried chicken. Then again, maybe not. I might just go with a baked potato and call it good.

Dh and I made an unplanned visit to see my Dad earlier and stopped for lunch. I had fish and chips he had clams and scallops. He brought half of his home and gave it to our neighbor who was thrilled! Plan is to have the chicken we bought yesterday along with some cole slaw and maybe some rice or noodles from one of those packages with seasoning/sauce.

I just finished making 2 dozen deviled eggs for a cookout this afternoon. Not my favorite thing to make but they turned out ok.

We're having grilled hot dogs, pasta salad, and I'll come up with one or two more sides using what limited ingredients I have. This no refrigerator thing is more challenging than I anticipated. anxiousmom, good call on not using the eggs. I recently did the research and learned the sad fact that once refrigerated, they must remain that way and had to throw out two 18-count packages of eggs. May I suggest peanut butter toast with chocolate chips sprinkled on top to tide you over until you're able to get some eggs and make brownies. Not an ideal substitute, but desperate times, call for desperate measures.

Heading to a baseball game and firework display, dinner will be something from the BBQ place at the stadium, with kettle corn and beer on the side

We're having somewhat traditional 4th fare - grilled burgers, leftover potato salad, baked beans, deviled eggs, and cantaloupe - which was deliciously sweet and juicy. I loooove summer cantaloupe!

I am making bbq pulled pork in the crock pot and just picking up potato salad and cole slaw and calling it good. I have been swamped with work so haven't been around much. I even worked yesterday and am working today, too.

In the cool (that's a realitive term in Georgia) of the evening, we are headed to sister-in-law's house where we'll have traditional 4th foods. I'm bringing fruit and some snicker doodle cookies I made this morning.

I breaded a big batch chicken Schnitzel this morning. I froze most of it, saved some for dinner, and cooked some up just before lunch to take to a friend who just had a loss in their family. So tonight we will have the chicken I set aside this morning, some grilled corn on the cob, salad with a peach dressing, and some roasted potatoes.

Bacon cheeseburgers, a selection of pasta salads that I bought thks morning, and corn on the cob. Not local, but what we can get this early in the year hasn't been too bad.

I was planning on grilling some BBQ chicken, and serving it with a spinach strawberry salad and Mac and cheese but DH said he didn't want to grill since its planning on storming later this afternoon. He was running some errands and told me he would figure out dinner. So he text me and said we are having steak and shrimp...guess where? On the grill. And he wants to do tater tots in the air fryer.

Family cookout tonight... I'm making crockpot pulled pork and Hawaiian macaroni salad, my sister is bringing pimento cheese and ham sliders and lemonade pie, my brother is grilling shrimp and bringing pecan pie, my other sister is bringing corn and ribs for the grill. And that's it. Not really typical 4th food, we all just made what we wanted to eat today lol.

Boring but something everyone will eat I really considered not Liking your post, since you called my dinner boring. We are having slow cooker BBQ ribs, mashed potatoes, and salad. If my sister brings cole slaw, I'll skip the salad and make some cooked veggies instead. I'm also planning to make a cherry crisp I found on Pinterest the other day, IF I can figure out how to pit the cherries without that little tool that does it for you. Any advice? I was thinking I'd just cut them in half and pull out the pit, but then I won't have whole cherries anymore.

We decided to stay home instead of going to the family bbq since a couple of us aren't feeling good We're going to grill hot dogs, make a fruit sald and throw tater tots in the oven. No one really feels like cooking.

We generally don't really do anything big on the 4th but we did play golf this morning and it was great ~ my best score at that particular course. We had leftover tri-tip sandwiches for lunch and, since DS is going over to some friends' house, I'm going to grill some salmon for dinner. About 9:30 we'll walk up the hill to watch fireworks at the fairgrounds. Then we'll easily walk home while the 70,000 people at the fair fight massive traffic jams. Happy and safe 4th everyone!

Hot dogs, potato chips, and macaroni salad. I was kind of craving a hot dog the other day, they were on sale this week, and the 4th is a good excuse to make them.

DH wanted another hot dog with soup. I had a hot dog with the leftover cole slaw. We each had a cocktail and said Happy 4th to one another. Too hot and humid to cook outside or even go outside - thank goodness for a/c. Heat index is around 105.
