...here are some words to remember. (I have posted this before but it has been a while and I think it is important enough to repeat.) My sister was a very wise woman. When we would have a disagreement she would hold up her hand, palm facing me. We both see the same hand (issue) but we see different sides. Be passionate about your side but give respect that someone else might see a different side. I try to live up to those words, sometimes it's harder than other times . But they are still wise words.

Cadoodlebug, I agree, very wise words. Our political views come from such personal places, maybe from our parents & how we were raised, or issues within our family or our job. I don't join in the political threads because there is so much bashing of anyone with a different view. I like to read them, however.

Very wise words, and very hard to adhere to in this divided electorate.

Very wise words, and very hard to adhere to in this divided electorate. Very true. However, every time someone on Facebook posts something that I want to respond negatively to, I remember my sister advice and let it go. Doesn't mean I haven't *unfollowed* a few people until after the election.

That is sage advice. I don't post on the political threads because I have such staunch viewpoints. It's a lesson for everyone to go ahead and have their own opinion but be open minded and open hearted.

I'm sort of just over it all now. I'm depressed and have given up on both sides.
I'll vote in November but I'm not happy and I feel this is the worst election ever IMHO
