My fitness pal. It will even calculate the calories on a recipe once you put the ingredients in. I probably should go back to using it.

I use my fitness pal daily. It's super easy to use. I like that I can save certain meals that I use over and over again. And scanning a barcode makes finding the food so much easier.

I track in MFP daily also. After using it so long, it "knows" me! And since I tend to eat the same meals for an entire week it makes it easy as I can just choose, yesterday's lunch without having to add everything in. Super quick nowadays!

My favorite thing about MFP is that when you finish the day it tells you what your weight would be if you had a day like that day for 5 weeks or so. It's neat. Also, important to note that all calorie trackers work primarily the same - it's you who does the work. Other trackers I've used that aren't as good as MFP, in my opinion, of course: - Lose It - Spark People

The biggest problem I have is no app or calculator is friendly to those who cook from scratch, like myself. If that's you, you may have a lot of problems as well.

My Fitness Pal allows you to input recipes with the quantities of ingredients and will calculate the calories & nutrition. I use that feature all the time when I'm cooking my own stuff. You can even paste in the URL of a recipe and it'll calculate it. Then you can save those recipes so if you re-create home cooked meals later, you don't have to reenter everything. SaveSave

I can make my own recipe in MFP and the app calculates the calorie count per serving. Is there something else you were looking for an app to do?

I don't measure my ingredients. I just cook. There's no way to determine calories or serving sizes for those of us who just...cook.

I also should add I don't follow th same recipe every time. The other night I cooked spaghetti and added some fresh summer squash I had on hand.

The Fitbit app works for me because it accounts for my activity or lack thereof for each day.

Yeah, but you know if you cook a whole box of spaghetti what that portion size is. And you can at least estimate how much summer squash you added (by cups). Seasonings and stuff you don't really have to measure, as most add zero to minimal calories, so you'll still get a pretty good estimate if you just enter the main ingredients. At least you'll be able to ballpark it. SaveSave

Ah, so you need an app that can read your mind? Wow, I don't think that's fair to say. I'm just looking for something more flexible than manually entering everything every single time I make small changes to a recipe, which people do all the time. I didn't say it was a bad app, just that it has drawbacks. No need to be rude. Geez. in the end I stopped counting calories at the advice of the dietician I see at my doctors and have focused on overall health and daily servings anyway.

I was just teasing, clearly it didn't come off that way! My sincerest apologies!
