In the process of organizing the fridge with bins and such, there was a little of this and a little of that... which is what we're having for dinner! The last of the potato salad, corn on the cob, green beans, maybe a caesar salad, and shrimp foil packets on the grill. Sweet northwest cherries and cantaloupe for dessert.

Grilled chicken brats with sauerkraut, tossed salad, and some sort of potato. Probably roasted.

I made hoisin chicken meatballs, and we had that with stir fried noodles, onions and carrots in a hoisin/soy/sweet chili sauce, and a side of snap peas. Then for dessert we had a birthday cake for DD.

I have absolutely no idea and I even meal plan on a weekly basis but what I had planned isn't going to happen. My sinuses are in full on congestion mode from allergies and I don't feel like cooking.
I was also going to mention this because I've read a few of you have mentioned how happy you are when you meal plan. I created a 30 day system for myself. DH and I sat down and wrote down our favorite meals to cook (we didn't include DS because he's moving out next month, plus he's always been a picky eater) until we reached 30 meals. I printed out those meals on 30 blank index cards and keep them on a key ring. So when planning our weekly meals (which I usually do on a Sunday night while watching a movie or taped show because I grocery shop on Monday mornings) and I'm stumped for ideas, I reach for the ring of index cards with our meals on them.

We settled on homemade chicken nuggets, roasted mini peppers/broccoli and applesauce.

We grilled shrimp and topped it with a smoky roasted red pepper vinaigrette (Weight Watchers magazine). We also had corn on the cob, and I made baked zucchini sticks. That was kind of an odd choice, but I felt like making them. The shrimp and sauce was really delicious and I'd recommend it.

Alas, I'm having a chicken tv dinner. No energy to bother with it. Lol. But, fried rice mentioned above made me take out chicken and cook some rice so I can make chicken FR tomorrow. But that's for a whole new thread.

I can't remember the last time I had to make dinner - was it Friday? Saturday? It's been a nice break and I have struggling to get back into it, but there was a pork tenderloin that needed to be cooked. It went on the grill with potatoes, onion, zucchini, peppers and asparagus.

@nicksmom, Have a wonderful visit w/your mother and happy birthday to your dd. PepsiGal, I'm sorry you had crummy news yesterday, but you're handling it well. @iowa57girl, thank you for that great idea. I think I'm going to try it, too.
