Compwalla, I hope tomorrow is an easier day for you! DD just brought me a snack of grapes with fruit dip. It was delicious.

I had a disappointing experience at my 20 week ultrasound with a rushed and unpleasant tech. So I booked a private 3D ultrasound and had it today. The tech was so kind and excited for us and gave us more images than we paid for AND we found out we're having a girl!

My 93 sidekick broke down in the middle of traffic today in a very unsafe location. My autistic son was freaking out. I was honked at, fingered for holding up traffic. I asked five different males to help, over and above those that just drove around us. They all said no.
finally a guy with a daughter about the age of mine pulled his jeep to block traffic, and the two of them helped me push it out of traffic. Made sure I had a phone to call for help. Told my son things would be okay and tried to calm him down.
I really aporeciated the help. I was in a very unsafe location.

I'm loving this thread! I think cadoodlebug deserves a mention for doing something kind yesterday - starting this thread! Thank you!

How nice! And I have only been to cardiac rehab today with DD. But the UPS man brought me 3 pairs of new Alegria shoes I got on sale. Now that was NICE! Care to share where you found them on sale? Sure. They were $59 each at alegriashoeshop.com. Look in the sale section.

1) Many people have made me feel very welcome this week. I'm in my first week at a new position at work -- lateral move, same district but different building. Everyone who has come into the office has said how nice it is to have a smiling, happy person at the desk. The person I replaced wasn't always a happy camper.
2) A young man (maybe 10?) insisted on holding the door for dd and me at the library. He was adamant about holding that door! So cute and yay for his parents doing a great job!

I asked five different males to help, over and above those that just drove around us. They all said no.. I had something similar happen when my transmission decided to go kaput. It wasn't an unsafe area, but it was after 9 at night and I was turning onto a side street. The silly truck decided to stop moving with the rear sticking about two feet into traffic. People had to go around and in spite of my flashers flashing, people beeped, honked, shouted and in general ignored me. I was pretty upset. After about 10 minutes a good old boy in a big good old boy truck stopped. He said that he looked back as he drove by and saw my face and how upset I was and realized that I needed help. He helped me push the giant truck out of the way and sat with me until I got help. AND he wouldn't give me his name saying that he hoped that if it was his wife or mother or sister would stop and help and that it was just the right thing to do no thanks needed.

I work in a department with three other people and a supervisor. For the past seven years the other three have rotated positions throughout the room we work in but I've always stayed in the same work station. I'm a group leader and I guess our supervisor wanted me close by. Well, things have been changing and she told me last month she was going to have me rotate with the others, yay! On Tuesday I started in an area I'd never worked in. It's not a huge room, but big with about 35 people in it. Our department services other departments. Well, Tuesday and Wednesday I was told repeatedly how happy this group is to have me there for the month! I thought it was very sweet!

As I walked up to my kinder this morning, one of my little charges saw me coming, and her face lit up with a huge smile. Then, 2 of the mums offered to take turns to stay and help when they found that one of our assistants couldn't make it due to a sick child. It made such a difference having that extra pair of adult hands at snack and craft time, when I had 10 small people with sticky, painty hands.

Someone held an elevator for me this morning, wasn't necessary he was so far ahead I wouldn't have noticed it closing, so it was definitely a grand gesture.

Some of my girlfriends are supposed to take me to lunch today. They made the plans a couple of days ago (never even heard from some of them - this was in a group text), but nobody has said anything since then. The one friend who made the plans has a tendency to get busy and forget things quite often, so I hope we are still going. If not, I'll be going by myself. If it all happens, then yes, they'll more than likely buy me lunch which will be nice, but then again, if they forget, it is pretty much par for the course and kind of goes along with my crappy day (dealing with teenage daughters who think they know it all) so far. I have sent a text reminding that I'll be going, but still nobody has texted back.

My best friend surprised me by having flowers and a balloon delivered to my workplace. Today is my birthday and I was feeling grumpy. It instantly changed my mood.
