I like the strawberry poppyseed salad at panera this time of year and I think you can buy their bottled dressing at some grocery stores... and maybe at their restaurants? I don't know, I've never actually looked to buy them. Otherwise, Brianna's is a good brand. It has a picture of a peach on it for some reason I don't understand. LOL. Apologies if you really only want balsamics, but since you mentioned the berries and pecans in your salad, I would eat that with a poppyseed dressing... (balsamic is good, too, I just don't have any leads on that). I've never seen Panera dressing in the stores. What's your usual grocery store, if you don't mind? I might need to go to one of our bigger ones for more options. And I love both poppy seed and all the fruity ones. Uno's has a blueberry one, and even the dressing for Wendy's fruity salad like that is pretty decent. I wonder how a strawberry vinaigrette would be...I see raspberry often, and that's great. I get my Panera dressing at Randall's (a Safeway store)

This is the one I'm using for dd's shower this weekend -
1/4 cup olive oil (prefer Lucini premium) 1 tbsp + 1 1/2 tsp. red wine vinegar 1 tbsp honey 1 tbsp minced red onion 2 tsp. Dijon mustard 1/2 tsp. salt & freshly ground pepper (ha - I use regular)
Blend together all but red onion. Just before serving blend in red onion (or it gets too strong).

terri where did you eat? That sounds yummy!' The Tin Angel and I highly recommend it. I also had the Bacon Wrapped Figs which were great and my husband loved the Cedar Planked Salmon.

Do you have a handheld blender to mix things up? I find that it helps more than just shaking or mixing by hand. I have a Viking one that has all kinds of accouterments and I use it for more than just emulsifying liquids-but it works like a champ to get salad dressings mixed correctly which also has a big impact on the taste.

I like my dressing a little on the tangier side so I make my own using a good quality balsamic vinegar, EVOO and Good Seasonings Italian packet....or my other favorite go-to is Brianna's Poppy Seed dressing sold at my local Publix.

For a store bought balsamic, I like Girards (the triangle shaped bottles).
For a salad with fruit and nuts, Brianna's Blush Wine (has a big strawberry on the label) is perfect.
For homemade, I like 1 part olive oil, 2 parts fresh squeezed grapefruit juice and 1 part balsamic. Add a teaspoon or so of Dijon mustard, salt and pepper. Yum!

I have a great zesty Italian dressing I make....super easy and really good. I'm not much into creamy dressing, unless it's a homemade buttermilk ranch, just oil & vinegar based.

I may be the odd man out, but I think it changes the difference in the final taste because the flavors are mixed together in a way that they just aren't when you mix by hand or shake to mix. My mom also uses hers to mix dressings and she says the same thing.

oh gosh, I know exactly what you mean, OP. I made this salad the other day and it was yummy. And the dressing was yummy, but as I shared on the dinner thread, I needed something about the salad to be more savory to offset the sweet. The dressing was just not tangy enough to me. So the next day I had the same salad again, but I tried the bottled Sesame vinaigrette from Trader Joe's and that was the ticket. Rainbow Chicken Salad

I know what you mean. Those lovely berry vinaigrettes are the finishing touch to a fancy salad. I can't make those, but I do adore Alton Brown's Honey Mustard vinaigrette. It's the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. It has three ingredients and whips up in a couple of minutes. 5 T honey 3 T Dijon mustard 2 T white wine vinegar combine and mix until smooth This is pretty much the same as the dressing I use on my salad every lunch. Except I use apple cider vinegar and agave. Actually, my quantities are different too, I don't measure, but mine is more mustard and less agave.

I haven't been to Trader Joe's in a while. Let's see...TO, Target, Meijer, maybe Walmart...I apparently need to do a tour of grocery stores this week!
