I only have to replace my cartriges once or twice a year, and I've always tossed them.

we take them to office max or staples. I don't really care about getting money for them, just don't want to put them in the trash.
I think Best Buy has a bin you can dump them in. We have a bag that sits near the printer that we dump the old ones in and when the bag is full or we think about it, we take them with us.

We collect them and donate to our Student Speaker's Foundation. Grand prize winner gets $21,000 in scholarships, so every little bit helps. Students from all over California compete for this.

Dd's school collects them and sends them to a company. The company in turn pays them for the cartridges.
