Good morning ladies!! I hope you all had a successful week!! I'm doing ok - I've been up a lb most of the week and it's annoying but I'm hanging in there. Eating is still going well and I'm getting my exercise in so I know my weight will catch up eventually. The fair was fun last night - I hate the fair in that it cost SO much for so few rides. But it was worth it since the kids had SUCH a great time with their friends. I was super happy because I went with a plan and I stuck to it! I had half of a steak sub (no cheese, just steak, onions and peppers) and half of a funnel cake. I REALLY wanted a deep fried snickers but I resisted. I'm so danged proud of myself!! Fair food is really hard for me to resist. Today dh and I are going to go for a walk this morning but it's supposed to rain most of the day. We were supposed to do fireworks tonight at the fair but if it's raining, we're not going. I hope you all have a great weekend!!

We are going to a 5th birthday party tonight which will be over dinner. I have no idea what the host is serving so I'm going to be sure to have a good lunch. If worst comes to worse, we'll leave after the cake and I can eat at home. This is my third meal away from home in 20 days of Whole30 so I shouldn't be so worried (the other two times there were tons that I could eat) and these folks are not normally order a pizza type party throwers**. So we'll see.
A bit of TMI is that I suffer horrible periods/endometriosis and about four years ago My doc started me on pills that give me four periods a year. Life changing! The bad news is that sometimes I even forget how terrible I will feel for at least one day and then it all comes back. That day was yesterday, so no working out (though that usually helps me). I'm going to eat enough to take my ibuprofen and work out on the rowing machine, then I'm taking an Epsom salt bath. The people who built this house put in a soaker tub and I could just kiss them- that thing is awesome!
**not that there is anything wrong with pizza-- I love it!! :-)

Today I was going to show my dog, but I overslept and he's really dirty so I decided to take the day off instead! I will try to walk today and tomorrow I will be at a baseball game so I will be doing some stairs! brandy327 fair food may be bad for you, but fair walking is great!

Hello
I am actually working today. I have some upcoming deadlines so here I am...but yet I'm here and not working - lol.
I ran 4.15 miles this morning. It was a great run and I really enjoyed it. A year ago the words "great run" and "enjoy" in the same sentence would have freaked me out.

gmcwife1 - That is true! I got well over 10,000 steps yesterday!! I've done great today!! Dh and I went for a walk - none of the kids wanted to go - and we did lots of intervals and went about 2.5 miles. It was perfect weather - 65 and misty. Already met my steps for the day and it looks like we'll be at the fair again tonight despite the nasty rainy weather. We're going to watch the fireworks...but we're eating before we go so no need to worry about what I'm eating.

Hello! I haven't been on the thread for a few days but am here. We are at a baseball tournament again. We stayed in a hotel last night and tonight. I haven't eaten the best but haven't eaten much. Hopefully that will count for something. Lol. I didn't get my workout in yesterday or today. Hopefully I can do at least one tomorrow night when we get home. No game tomorrow but we have a family picnic for the other team so not sure when we will get home.

Well good thing I've eaten light today and put in a good workout. I just ate 3 cookies and a small bowl of ice cream with hot fudge. 1700 calories for the day. EEK!!! I didn't even have close to that yesterday with the fair food!!!

I'm exhausted! Food has been ok except I have to go back to eggs in the mornings- been eating way too much fruit. I need to add more protein. I've just been in a rut- eating the same things over and over- going to change it up. I only had 1/2 of an apple today after dinner.

brandy327 , just came home from NYC a little while ago. They had a street fair on 8th Ave in midtown that was longer than any I had ever seen! I have never had a fried Oreo and I am proud to say that while I am very curious, I still have not had one. One of my friends did get fried ice cream and I abstained from that as well. If there had been fried bananas, I think I would not have been able to hold back. LOL! We had them a few times in Hawaii and just loved them! My exercise today was walking. Didn't take any subways at all. I know we walked a few miles because 20 blocks is a mile and it was about 20 blocks just from the train station to the theater and we did more walking than that. I had a friend take a quick picture of me today because I am wearing a dress I made last night. It's a "thing" to post pictures on the designer's FB pages, both the pattern designer and the fabric designer or seller. It reminds me very much of scrapbooking in the publication game days. Most are just posting to share and help others, but there are also bloggers and people who test patterns and who get strike offs (initial fabric runs) to make clothing to advertise the fabric. And just like in the scrapbooking pub days, photography counts too... at least with being a pattern tester or getting to sew up strike offs. Anyway, I don't have a decent full length mirror in my house and I am not in photos very often, especially not full length, so it was kind of interesting to me. I am not like my dd and don't know how to pose. Friend just quickly snapped the photo for me. What's interesting is my altered body image. I see myself as larger than I am. I know that I always think of myself as taller than I am. In my mind, I am about 5'4 or 5'5. I'm 5 feet. And I am far smaller in size than I realized. And boy my legs are really muscular. LOL! I hear that from my dd (the dancer) but I really see it in this quick photo. LOL So weird what the mind does.. the disconnect from reality. I am going to pick up a full length mirror to keep in my closet or someplace. I've lived here 15 years without one. It's time. I may remove this later. And will remove it immediately if it turns out to be a huge photo. LOL

melissa You look FANTASTIC!!! Your hard work is really paying off!! And your dd is right - your legs are muscular! And super cute dress!!! They had fried Oreos, Twinkies and Snickers at the fair and I REALLY wanted to try the Snickers. But I refrained. I had half a funnel cake and left it at that. I didn't feel the best after eating it either. But it sure did taste good at the time!

melissa Great pic!
brandy327 OMG- I haven't had real sweet junky stuff in forever! It's crazy because I've had a some sweet stuff in limited portions. But it's been more than 7 months since I've eaten an entire regular sized candy bar. I was SERIOUSLY jonesing for a fried Snickers. LOL But I knew I'd regret it and after having that half of a funnel cake, I no longer wanted the Snickers. LOL

Yeah after a not so great eating night last night, I'm determined to not let a bad night develop into a bad week, especially since it would be easy with dh on vacation. My weight is back up so tomorrow's official weigh in will surely put me right back where I started a couple of weeks ago. It'll be a gain of close to 2 lbs, which is what I lost last week.
Today we have the parade here in town and we're all walking in it with the girls' soccer club. I kind of wish I hadn't committed to it. It's cool (60) and rainy again and I have so many other things I'd like to be doing.
I haven't been sleeping very well lately...last night we were up late (1am) and when I FINALLY started dozing, the sun was coming up. Woke up for the day at 8. Tomorrow will be a really busy day as we're headed into Boston to go to the Museum of Science and do a Duck Tour. It'll be a lot of walking and being busy the whole day...so I really hope that I sleep well tonight. My dd#1 has also been having trouble sleeping...I would say 4-5 nights a week she has trouble falling asleep. We have Melatonin here but I try to save that for the nights that are really bad. I think I may start having her take one every night in hopes of getting her into some sort of decent routine. Once she gets to sleep she has no trouble staying asleep, but getting to sleep seems to be giving her a lot of trouble.
I hope you ladies have a great Sunday!!

Melissa! You look amazing!
Yesterday was a day long baseball tournament for DS. My eating was pretty darn good thanks to the snacks I snuck in. Lol!
I am getting ready to head out for a run and then to the grocery. My niece turns 4 today. We are going to her party later today. Should be a nice Sunday.
Only 3 weeks of summer break remain. Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I'm right there with you TankTop. I was depressed most of Friday because I got the "back to school" email from my principal outlining the pre-planning schedule. Gross! Good work brandy327 on your self control at the fair. It's really difficult in the moment, but every small decision is a victory. I ate out lunch the last two days and while I did well with portion control and choices, I still feel so heavy and full after eating out. I'm home all day today, so I'll eat well and light. I've done my walk and I'm about to go out and do some mowing. It's overcast this morning which should make that job a little more comfortable. Happy Sunday all.

Good morning all! I had a successful evening at the birthday party. They served beef, rice, salad and a variety of taco toppings for tacos/taco salads. so lots of choices and also fresh fruit.
There was also an adorable home made cake- she got the idea from Pinterest- a three layer cake, iced. The top had m&m's in the color of the party and around the sides were kit kat bars lined up vertically all around the cake. Then she had cut outs of the theme on top of the cake. She said it was one of the easiest cakes she has made but it was so impressive! I wish I'd taken a pic. But the cake was green, blue and red layered and my stomach does not do well with artificial dyes so I wouldn't have had the cake but the kit kat bars smothered in buttercream? Right up my alley! But I didn't have any and it was a fun night and beautiful weather. Day 20 in the books :-)
I am still feeling good but I am starting to worry a bit about reintroduction. There is a schedule in the book, which I will follow, but I'm a little anxious about going totally off the rails!

melissa - you look great! I love that dress too. Body image is a huge issue I struggle with. It stems from my childhood and even now at 47 yrs old it still haunts me. alexa11 - I love my fruit and probably eat too much of it. Eggs are my go to breakfast too. I have learned not enough protein in the morning makes me hungry all day long. Today is a non run day. I will probably walk a couple miles later on the treadmill but this morning is yard work, laundry and grocery store. Since I worked yesterday I need to squeeze all my weekend chores into one day - yuck!

I liked what you said about seeing yourself as taller. I am 153 cm which my doctor calls 5'1/4" which is roughly the same? I see myself as taller, but I know in reality that I am very small. Even when I am the right weight or less I still see my legs as bigger than they should be. This has to be body disconnect. I looked at myself in my underwear and my behind and waist were tiny. I mean I looked hot, but the legs were still fat looking. I bought a pair of size 2 petite Jones New York pants and they fit perfectly. This isn't about me though. It's about how great YOU look! And you do!

Wow--Melissa--you look so great! It's encouraging to hear that I'm not the only one with body image issues. I normally look around at the women I'm with and think I'm the only one who struggles with how they look.
I really didn't want to go running today which was dumb because it's much cooler than its been but I made myself and actually felt like I had a good run. Came home feeling good about myself and that I accomplished something by getting out there when I really didn't want to go.
