What 4 cookies would you like to see on a dessert buffet? I am know for my chocolate chip cookie so that takes up on spot. I am considering Belle's Magic's cream cheese cookies. What cookies do you prefer? Thanks, Jen

Something with a different shape other than round - like shortbread.

Cookies that you don't see everyday. Pretty cookies, cookies that took time to assemble, sparkly cookies. Cookies I have never taken in my lunch bag.

My personal favorite is oatmeal raisin with walnuts (I know some people can't have nuts). Tied for second place are chocolate chip and sugar cookies. The final choice would be something with maraschino cherries or lemon.

Biscotti, florentines, macaroons, Russian or Mexican tea cakes, rice krispie treats (not exactly a cookie, but usually popular). The rice krispie treats can look quite elegant when cut into narrow rectangles or triangles and then drizzled or dipped in chocolate.

a chocolate one, an oatmeal one, a peanut butter one, and a fruit-ish/light one (the lemon cream cheese ones, or shortbread) should cover all your bases.

Does it have to be a cookie? What about a brownie?

I'm just going to suggest types rather than specific cookies.
When I bake cookies at Christmas, I like a variety. So maybe a chocolate cookie, a shortbread type of cookie(like Mexican wedding cakes, for example), a sugar cookie, and then I might pick a more highly flavored cookie.
Sine you have already picked out two, a chocolate cookie and either sugar or a fruit-based cookie would be nice. In the summer, lemon bars are a good choice.

Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Oatmeal Raisin Lemon
The list above sounds perfect. For work functions, we usually have the first three. Since Belle's recipe is lemony, it would be a nice addition.

I want to see fancy cookies that I don't see everyday, or that are so labor intensive, I would never make them. So no chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin or peanut butter etc.

I too would vote for something you wouldn't find in an average lunchbox. So I would choose chocolate thumbprints (DH loved them so much he could have eaten the whole batch) instead of plain chocolate chip, raspberry thumbprints with sparkly sugar sprinkled on top, Starlight Sugarcrisps (a light cookie made with yeast dough and vanilla sugar, a family recipe we've made at Christmastime for decades) and pecan tassies. That way you'd have something chocolate, something vanilla, something fruity and something nutty which would cover all of your bases.

I say yes to every single cookie suggested. Probably the reason why I am 30 pounds overweight. I never met a homemade cookie I did not like.

Was at a large group meeting to day and there were four cookies to chose from: chocolate chip, peanut butter, sugar and some kinda swirl chocolate vanilla thingy with nuts and sugar sprinkles. Guess which one was leftover over at the end of the meeting? The swirly chocolate doodly thing that no one was willing to give a try. Go with what you know!
