Because who the heck would buy an insta pot and Korean sloughing towels when they don't know what either of them is JUST because the Peas said they were THE thing to buy? Then I'm not normal either

So, I caved to PEAr pressure and went online to buy the Instant Pot last night.
Problem: One had already been bought with our account yesterday, so I was denied.
Turns out my daughter has her own cabal of online enablers. Taken so young....
(Don't worry. I got the damn thing through some other trickery...)

I live in the land of large Asian grocery stores. My favorite aisle is the one with bathroom and kitchen gadgets. I am going to stop by there today to check out the prices of these in the store vs. on Amazon. I like the idea of having one long enough to exfoliate my back.

I am easily influenced but I managed to resist yesterday. Some days, however,I acquiesce to the evil shopping imps who hang out here.

I agree that the peas know and share everything. I also ordered a pot and vow to use it!

I had the pot in my basket all day and couldn't decide, I don't even cook!
Finally took the plunge just before midnight and have spent all morning reading recipes and watching videos!!

I went through a long no cooking slump and the IP helped me get some of my mojo back. Good luck!

I hate, hate to cook and I have read every instapot thread on this board. Seriously, it took all I had to resist buying it. I had to reason with myself. Am I really going to use it? Probably not. Peas have suckered me into a lot of stuff over the years so don't feel bad. If you use it, then it's a good investment.

You may not be normal in the sense of the whole world but you are a normal pea I think about 1/2 the peas bought both of these - LOL I resisted the InstaPot (so far - due to small kitchen and not much storage space mostly) but I bought those Korean Towels - they came yesterday and I LOVE them!!!!

I am going to stop by there today to check out the prices of these in the store vs. on Amazon. I like the idea of having one long enough to exfoliate my back. I don't know if the Korean kind that everyone is talking about comes in a long version for doing your own back, but if you are interested in the Japanese washcloths, Daiso has them for $1.50 in numerous colors, materials, and strengths. I always buy the strongest one, usually marked for men, and I used to buy the silky soft ones for my mom. They are made out of something other than netting. Her skin was so delicate and bruised so easily that I was afraid she would hurt herself with the stronger type. She loved the silky one and had me buy a few more so she could keep one at each of our homes so she didn't have to pack it when she changed houses. The other thing I like about them is that you can rinse the soap out of it and hang it up on a bar in the shower and it dries beautifully - never dampish and mold creating. Do you remember those net mesh balls on a string that people used to use all the time? Well, I guess many still do because I still see them. I used to use them until a friend told me she watched a special that told about all the mold and bacteria in those things because the center area doesn't dry very well. I immediately checked mine and it was still damp in the center, 9 hours after my shower. It also had a faint yucky smell that I had never noticed until I stuck my nose right in it. I will only use the open netting style now because they work well and dry in a few minutes time. I would think that your Asian stores would carry these if you don't have a Daiso. I just know they are really inexpensive at Daiso. SaveSave

But, I learn so much about stuff I never even knew EXISTED! Like the Japanese exfoliating towels, or the instant pot.

The small ones are 3-packs like on Amazon, since they were only $1.99 I got both red and green - they look to have different textures. I bought one plain long one and one "fancy" one with handle loops. Eta: No Daiso stores anywhere near me and I just looked online and you have to buy a 12 pack or more in their online store. I'll stick to my large Asian grocery stores (H-Mart, Lotto, etc)

Nice! It looks like the pink one is like the type I use - just a long straight piece of netting. They are awesome!. Those little hand pockets might be nice for scrubbing up also. I just fold the long cloth 3 or 4 times into a square and kind of wad it to use for washing the bulk of my body. I open it out to the straight lengthy position to wash my back and the bottoms of my feet
Congratulations on finding a good variety of things. I know we have some Asian stores in Irvine. I used to work in Irvine and I would drive past these stores on my commute. I have never been in them though. I need to do that!

Because who the heck would buy an insta pot and Korean sloughing towels when they don't know what either of them is JUST because the Peas said they were THE thing to buy? You and I must be cut from the same bolt of irregular cloth, because I ordered both of those items today (plus some markers). I honestly don't see my need for the pot (I'm single and don't cook a lot). But that didn't stop me. If the Peas say I need it, who am I to quibble? My one friend that influenced me on the instant pot, in addition to the all-knowing Peas, is single. She owns a few pressure cookers and makes up a bunch of stuff on the weekend, a lot of soups and veggies and beans, then freezes things into portions. She doesn't cook at all during the week, just reheats her lunches & dinners.

Yeah I'm not sure what the towels do and my skin is already soft but it's less than $10 bucks. lol I figure I can give one of the set to my mom. Now the pot thing I have no use for. I'm not cooking soup this summer or meat, so no one pot meals. I enjoy standing over the stove doing complex meals. You're doing it for the cheesecake. It pairs nicely with complex meals.

I admit I ordered the Korean towels...but I do know what they are for! I got the Salux towels when someone first posted about them a few years ago, and I love those things and am still using them to this day (as are a few of my friends that I converted) so if the Korean ones are also good/better, then I'm signing up to try them out too.
