Because who the heck would buy an insta pot and Korean sloughing towels when they don't know what either of them is JUST because the Peas said they were THE thing to buy?

Yeah I'm not sure what the towels do and my skin is already soft but it's less than $10 bucks. lol I figure I can give one of the set to my mom.
Now the pot thing I have no use for. I'm not cooking soup this summer or meat, so no one pot meals. I enjoy standing over the stove doing complex meals.

If you can't trust random strangers you've met on the internet to make honest product recommendations, well, then, who can you trust?

You and I must be cut from the same bolt of irregular cloth, because I ordered both of those items today (plus some markers). I honestly don't see my need for the pot (I'm single and don't cook a lot). But that didn't stop me. If the Peas say I need it, who am I to quibble?

Peer pressure! I find out more things here than from my real life friends. And then if I try to tell my friends about something I learnt/bought/etc here it's hard to say "all my internet stranger friends told me about it".

First thing on your menu, being summer - corn on the cob. Husk the corn. Put it on the trivet over a cup or two of water. Set it to manual for 5 minutes.

Different colors are different roughness, I got the green and they were fine but again I'm not recommending it for the face.

What are these towels you are talking about? I missed that post. I do use Japanese exfoliating washing cloths. Is that the same thing you are all buying? The ones I buy are about 12 inches wide and about 4 feet long - enough to adequately wash your own back. I always get the extra scrubby ones because they soften down after a while and I like to know that I am really exfoliating that dead skin off. Oh, and as far as normal - if you compare yourself to your peers here....I'd say you were quite normal! I wonder how many of us bought that Instant Pot today?

They're called Korean Italy towels and they're small square mitts that you put on your hand for exfoliating, similar to salux from Japan but I found they were easier to use.

Well, I do try to dress this place up by referring to it as, "a discussion board I frequent when I want a variety of opinions on a topic." When asked to elaborate, I may gloss over some of the topics...

I say "I heard about _____ on one of those internet message boards I frequent"... don't want anyone I know IRL spoiling the peas for me. I've been thinking about getting the pot since it's something I really could use. I've even gotten my dh interested in it. I hadn't seen the link to the towels, but I'm interested in them, as well. I read about the Korean baths a couple years ago, and just found this article Korean spa scrub

I don't have a need for either. I don't want either. I'm rarely influenced by the peas' reviews of items unless it's something I'm actively seeking.
