Today I needed to check on a charge on one of our credit cards but it was charged to DH's card and I didn't know the number of his card. Since they no longer put your account number on your bill, you have no way to know your number unless you have the card in your possession. I've heard it's a good idea to scan all the things in your wallet anyway in case it is ever lost or stolen so you have quick access to cancel.

I still have account numbers on my bills. I'm surprised to hear that Mine have the last four digits most of mine too. I think I might have a store card that has all the numbers, but I can't remember

the account numbers are on most of your bills, look at the payment coupon and that string of numbers at the bottom will most likely have your account number embedded in there somewhere. If you know the last 4 digits, you can count back to get the correct number of digits.

I've memorised my credit card numbers - wonder if it's all that online shopping I've been doing courtesy of Pea recommendations?

anniefb: My son does this! It freaks me out to hear him order delivery food and give them his cc #, expiration date and 3 digit # on the back of the card. I'm lucky if I remember my own birth date at this point!

What a great idea... Why have I never thought of that?! Having my wallet stolen is one of my biggest fears because of what a nightmare it would be to track down everything to replace. Need to put this on my to do list!

I have mine memorized too. I have basically had the same number since 1990. The last 5 digits have changed twice (card compromised).

I have online access to all my credit cards, so I don't really don't need the numbers I don't think I do as well but if I lose my wallet I want all the information at my fingertips. KWIM?

I've memorised my credit card numbers - wonder if it's all that online shopping I've been doing courtesy of Pea recommendations? Between Costco, Macy's, Penneys, Sears, etc. there is no way I could memorize all my credit cards number. But I still remember the phone number from 60 years ago!

If you know the last 4 digits, you can count back to get the correct number of digits. It has the main account person's number but not the other person who has a card.

I have online access to my cards. And can get to them on my phone apps. And my main card that is used 99% of the time is memorized.
