I was rollerblading today and saw some mom/kids out and about with their phones. I figured they were on the hunt!
I came home and told my dd that if she were young it would be something we would be doing. She brought up the amount of data usage that they must be going through. She also said that the Pokemon server isn't the best especially because there has been so many people on it.
Anyhow if you're using the app how has it increased your data usage?
***I'm thrilled she thought of that because she is the one who chews up the data on our family plan. We are on her to quit with the data!

So far it doesn't seem to be using much at all. My ds says it's using the GPS which isn't a data hog. Now, the whole thing about fighting at a gym...I don't know about that because we're not interested in that. At least dd and I aren't. Ds hasn't really gotten started yet because he works all day, so if he does any gym fighting then we'll see. For now though, the actual hunt doesn't use up much. It's not like if you were walking about watching Youtube or Netflix for hours, or browsing Facebook or something like that.
And yes, there have been glitches with the servers or whatever. But it's free and it's not even a week old so I'll give them a pass. The biggest problem we've had is that sometimes after you capture a Pokemon the game freezes. But half of the time you end up finding that Pokemon in your collection when you sign on again. The other half get away. Oh well, we'll just catch them again. Of course I'd be really mad if that happened after I caught a Pikachu but he's pretty rare so my odds are slim on that since I never have good luck. lol

There's a church near me that has set up a charging station, and offers cold water. lol I've been driving my dd around since she can't walk yet, so we take turns plugging our phone into the car. I think I need a double charging cord for the car. haha

I checked our data and he's used about the same amount so far this month as he'd used by this time last month (just 1 phone playing Pokemon) so it's not as much of a data hog as I feared.
