Have y'all seen one of these yet? I have seen my first one while in the Durham, NC, area. They look nice but stand out like a sore thumb because they are so much taller than the tree line. Still nicer than a regular tower though I guess.

Yes, we have had them for several years now - I think they look better than the regular cell towers - you still know what they are but at least they are better to look at

In our town we have one that looks like a water tower. Before it was put in I lived in cell hell.

Yes, we have them here....and I'm hoping that the one they are about to build 200 feet from my back door will at least look like a freakishly tall tree.

I haven't seen either of them. They look a little wonky, but better than an ugly metal tower.

I am all about the finances. If it's gonna cost customers more to see that then I am like "no" .. I guess if the cost is not passed down to the consumers then it's tacky but OK.

I've seen both types in the Bay Area in CA. I think the palm tree one is too funny!

We have one here about 5 miles down the road. Just like the one Patter posted. DH had to point it out to me-I didn't even notice it Our trees are a lot taller around it than in the photo that Patter posted, so it blended right in. Debbie in MD.

These have amused us for years. Here's one of the manufacturers: utilitycamo.com/products/ETA: Our sons used to spot them while travelling, like some families play license tag bingo.

These are great! I had never heard of camouflaged cell towers before. Now I'm going to be looking for our plain old cell towers when I'm driving around here. Pretty sure they're just the old-fashioned ones. I've never really noticed them but now they will seem pretty boring to me!

We have the pine tree ones around here. For some reason when I see them they crack me up.

There are "stealth" towers that look like those and are ridiculous, but there are also real stealth towers hidden in church steeples, bell towers and other standard architectural structures that look fine.

I love the palm trees! We have a pine tree one nearby. It's hard to pick out because it's in with other very tall pine trees.

This is what I do. Tree poles are extremely costly and the better they look (fuller, colored appropriately, etc.) the more expensive they are. There are many, many tree poles that you don't notice because they blend better than that one. Stealth applications like the "monopine" and palm trees are required by many jurisdictions. I've built towers or platforms for antennae via flag poles, light standards, trees, bell towers, etc. The coolest one is in a town called Carefree in Arizona. There's a resort called The Boulders and one very large boulder is fake, it's actually a cell site.

I think the goofy pine tree ones look better than miles and miles of telephone poles and wires. Heck, I think even the undisguised towers do.
