Has anyone ever had trouble with the color from velvet hangers rubbing off or bleeding onto their clothes?

We use them for dance costumes. Ours are turquoise and we haven't had any problems.

Not yet, but for white blouses, I still use the tubular hangers (because I have a few still around).

Nope. My only problem is that I am constantly breaking them.

no color transfer but the wire hanger part falls out. I'm going to try supergluing them back in next time!

No, and I typically hang dry my clothes. I was worried in the beginning that there would be staining because I was hanging wet clothes on those types of hangers, but it never happened.
I do love those slim hangers-even though they are more apt to fall apart if you aren't gentle with them.

I use the white ones (although they are more like off-white), so no. And I've never had one break.

I have some older ones that have been terribly mistreated. (As in left in really poor climate conditions.)
Some of those seem to be having a small problem with the velvet rubbing off... but not enough for me to stop using them. Those particular hangars I try to rub on my pants leg first just to see if anything will come off.
For the past 7 years I've used the Joy Mangano hangars almost every time I do laundry. I don't fully dry most of my clothes because they shrink too much in the arm and leg length, so I am constantly putting wet clothing on them. I've never had the color bleed - even with the maroon or black hangars.
I.LOVE.THEM.SO.MUCH. I take them with me when I travel if I can.

I have the black ones from Costco. {love them!} My regular work outfit is a white blouse (I have 6 white and several other colors) and I haven't had any transfer of color in three years or so.
I have one of those fancy wooden closet organization systems with the shelves, drawers and rods. I changed over from white plastic tubular hangers, the black velvet ones make the closet looks so neat and organized.
ETa: for those of you who say they break easy...I have not had the Costco ones break, but the ones I bought to supplement the Costco ones from Target/Ross/Marshalls broke very easily.

I'm glad you started this thread. I hang up dress clothes that are still a little damp and was worried about color bleeding. Next time I see them on sale I guess I'll give them a try.

No, because the ones I have are a nude color.

Mine are a tan color (Joy Mangano) from the Container Store. No bleed through and they have not broken. I make sure not to twist the metal hanger part, because it is not intended to twist like store hangars. I love them!

We have about 90% velvet hangers (the other 10% are leftovers of the tubuler that I keep thinking I'm done with but then I keep running out of the velvet whenever I do a load of delicates or get hand-me-ups from my sister) and I've never had that problem. I've had my husband break a few but I just chalk it up to him being clumsy/rough with things.
