Oooh! I finally get to throw in my two cents!
Yesterday I stopped in the Salvation Army just to have a look-see, and I found a pair of brand new book ends for my sons' room!
I've been looking around online, but have trouble paying $20/pair. I paid $1.98 for the pair.

We had a chance to stop at a Goodwill Sat and I found a big score for me - brand new pair of nice black sparkly sandals, size 2, for $4. It's rare to find shoes in my size, even more rare for them to look like adult shoes. LOL!
My son got a padded shooting shirt that sells new for around $45 for $2.99.
You have size 2 feet? And people always say I have small feet, size 6! my aunt had size 3 feet and had to have shoes specially made when she wore heels. Yup. Translates to about a 4 in ladies, but those are super-rare.

I went to an estate auction tonight. There wasn't much that was too exciting to me in my price range. Some things that I was waiting to start a little lower the auctioneer just put aside (I assume for the regular Saturday night auction).
All I bought were some linens that were a fantastic deal. I think I made a great new friend as well so that's pretty awesome.

I love reading about everyone's finds!
Not a yard sale or thrift store..but a free curb alert table for us this week. Dh is setting up a temporary home office for a few months in our living room and needed tables to spread out blueprints.. but not too office looking because it is the living room! lol I found a curb alert metal/ glass top table painted a hideous beige flaking paint over ugly green paint. I had that sucker in my van, flaking paint scrubbed off and repainted black in record time! Looks lovely in front of our living room windows right now with a vase of fresh cut flowers in it until he clutters it up with drawings.

It's fun to see what everyone finds! I found a cute little 2-drawer table at a thrift store for 10 bucks....I might post a pik later. I miss seeing heartcat 's piks of all the lovely clothing/ shoes/ purses, etc. that she'd find. She hasn't posted on these threads lately .

I'm a sucker for glass - art glass, regular glass, stained glass, pretty much ANY pretty glass. As usual at Goodwill last week they had a couple of carts of merchandise out - people usually go through the carts and take stuff and the employees joke that it saves them work because they don't have to put it on the shelves. I'm pretty laid back so I waited for the aggressive shoppers to finish and then I saw what looked like the top of a stained glass piece under a bunch of stuff. Usually the stained glass I find at Goodwill is damaged so I wasn't too excited, and worse yet, it was so heavy that I couldn't even lift it out. I had to call over my sweetie to do the heavy lifting and this is what he hoisted out for me: It was in perfect vintage condition (no broken glass or hardware) and best of all, was only $24!!! I can't believe no one bothered with it in the cart - we must have been stopped by 5 or 6 people oohing and aahing over it on the way to the cash register. The beveled and textured glass is just exquisite and the thing weighs a TON! I LOVE the thrift store! that is a great find, I would like to find something on the order if that and use it as a screen to hide the cat litter box...lol

My mom still has it So awesome, it still has cookie monster and Oscar and other characters and parts and they're in much better condition than other ones I've bought before with the sesame st clubhouse. One part did chip off during shipping but I think it'll still be fun for the kiddos.

I was totally stoked to find a Ferris wheel a few months ago with a random Ernie sitting in it for like $5. I've also found an empty barn for $5, my kids keep their duplo animals in it and it still moos! The new throwback Fisher price toys are just not the same.

I think all of those plus Ernie and Bert came with the set. It's missing some furniture like the Grover tv, but has some random other fp accessories like a toilet or chairs. I think I own like 3 big birds and 4 Ernies now because of all of the random sets I've bought. I wanted the townhouse because it's so iconic but first bought the clubhouse because my neighbor had it and it's much more fun, there are secret compartments and cranks and slides.

AKA the most elegant litter box in the world! That would be fitting since the cat thinks he's the king and we're all just here to serve him.
