I didn't want to see that since we will be there in a couple of weeks. Guess we will be staying indoors a lot!

Well, I've been in central MO for the past 6 days and I think you've got nothing on me. I've been vacationing in Satan's ass crack.

I am pretty sure that this summer has been hotter than usual...and I know that Florida definitely isn't alone in this. Holy cow, it's just miserable-and I don't generally complain about the heat but these days you can't shut me up.

We're finally enjoying some decent summer temps here in the UK - but I'm glad they're not up as high as that!!

If I knew how to find a map like that for here I'd show you Northern Virginia/Washington DC. I usually love summer so I'm not sure why this year has seemed so bad to me. It's not even record heat, not for July in DC. And it's not having to walk a dog in the heat because we've had the dog for 8 years. So I don't know... But, I really really am looking forward to fall!

This is the temp map for my area. I know y'all are jealous and wish you were here. I don't see a temp map in your post. I'm sure it's just my laptop! It's going to be 94 here! It's a dry heat. Where you feel like you're entire body is an oven vs the feeling of being in a hot steamy shower. Pick your poison.

Where you feel like you're entire body is an oven vs the feeling of being in a hot steamy shower. Pick your poison. Oh gosh, isn't that the truth? It is just hot. Everywhere. And like you said, under a hot steamy wet wool blanket, or in a dry hot oven...both are equally crappy choices. And our like-clock-work-afternoon-rainstorms aren't cooling things off at all. (It is just a heat index map of central Florida-with all the heat indexes at or above the 100 degree mark. It isn't anything different than a lot of other places in the country.)

Last week, it was 103-107 all week.
This coming week we are having a 'cool spell' and the highs only get to about 100.

Every day I'm glad I don't live in Tucson anymore. With the monsoon they have 100+ temps and humidity. The humidity didn't bother me until we lost power last night in a storm. 83 in my house with rain and no way to cool the air was miserable.

It's different for me! I looked on my phone. Current temperature is 85 and feels like 85. I do dry heat better. If it gets over 2% humidity, I'm feeling it!

After 2 hotter and drier (agriculture drought declared) than normal summers we are back to a typical summer. We've had rain and things are green and lush again. But best of all it's been 19-23C 68-75F and I'm LOVING it!! Windows open day and night. Not hot not cold, to this northern Albertan. But I think anything above 25C/75F is too hot.

I'm right there in that spot that reads 98. I spent most of the day (from 9am to 4pm) in my unshaded backyard doing some heavy duty landscaping work. I am beyond COOKED.

73 degrees in my little part of Washington right now, a heat index of 103 degrees at our former home in Texas - I'll let you guess where I am happier to be .

I'm not jealous. But I am actually cold and sitting here with my hoodie up! I'm on the Monterey Bay and we've had wet fog every evening and into the late morning. It's clear (finally) and 65F. If the breeze would die down, I think it would be pleasant.

What did surprise me is that St. Pete is higher. Usually they are cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.

We are vacationing in the mountains of western Maryland right now, and it is just about perfection. Summer weather where we live is generally shitty, so I am really enjoying myself this week.

So if you want, I will bring the cookie dough.

We could have sun tea with that too. A full meal just waiting to happen! we'd probably die of sunstroke first though!

Geez I can't even imagine. When it gets to 80 I'm uncomfortable and don't want to be outside. I can't even imagine 100 and then if there's humidity...no way...I'll take my -10 in January if i don't have to withstand 100 degree temps. I have lived in Michigan for my of my life so I'm pretty used to bitter cold and lots of snow. My favorite time of year is right around October and November when we have temps in the 50 degree range.

I just dropped my dd off at girl scout surf camp near Cape Canaveral. The lodge they are in has NO air-conditioning!! They don't tell you this when registering. My DH was p###ed. He said they should be able to afford air when they charge $450 a girl for 5 days. I hope the fact the rooms are upstairs and they are right on the water keeps her from being miserable.

Yeah, we just got back from a week in Orlando...look for my new book coming out soon on "How to survive Orlando theme parks when the heat index is above 95 degrees" or something like that, LOL. The heat was definitely miserable. It was a great week, but we learned quickly to seek shade, ask for free ice water anytime we needed it, go to water rides, resort pools, and/or water parks in the afternoon, then go back into the park(s) for evening dinner, fireworks, etc. And most nights we saw 2 "fireworks" shows - one was actual fireworks and the other was heat lightning in the distance, LOL! Actual thunderstorms either missed us or were late enough to not affect us too much most evenings. Although the batch of lightning one afternoon made everyone leave the pools and waterparks until it blew over. Overall a great trip despite the heat. To me, a hot day on vacation is still better than a hot day at home working!

We usually have 100 degree heat for a week or two of July, but it's been quite lovely lately. I'm enjoying our summer this year, when usually I barely tolerate it.
