Always stuffed up even without drainage can be allergies. This is how I started as a kid. Kids generally don't have the sinus issues because their sinuses are not fully developed. A pediatric ENT is not a bad idea though.

I'd guess I've had about a dozen (yes, I lost track) I know the smell that they are talking about but that is in days of old. My first several surgeries were nearly 20 years ago. They did pack the sinus and didn't take it out until you wake up etc. Not any more. You don't have that crap anymore and no more smell. You'll be just fine. Take your pains meds. It is sensitive tissue up there and you will have some pain. Just stick to your meds and you'll be good. It heals fast. You've got this

To help reduce bruising & swelling eat fresh pineapple &/or drink fresh pineapple juice 2 weeks pre & post-op, plus use Arnica cream. Thanks! I'll look into this.

glad the surgery was relatively easy for you, and you came thru it okay!!
(by the way, are you the pea who said a while ago that things had started to smell funny-- like burned toast, or smokey- cigarette smoke, or something like that?? is the smelling things related to what was going on with your sinuses?? If so, I'm GLAD it's gone! If not, I can't remember who it was...)

I am SO glad it's gone.

well I had sinus problems growing up..used to have to have them packed..used to get bad head aches..lots of cold symptoms. I had surgery maybe 10 yrs ago. He enlarged my sinus. in all of these 10 years I have NEVER had another sinus headache or never another stuffy nose. I am grateful to have mine. I hope yours works for you.
