Good morning ladies!! TGIF!! I've been doing great this week - food is right on target and so is exercise. The scale has reflected it and I'm down below where I was before vacation. Tomorrow we're taking the kids to a New England Revolution game (soccer). The girls won the Memorial Day Championship and were offered discounted tickets for the Parade of Champions game...so before the game, the girls get to walk out onto the field. And then we get to watch the Revs play in a semi-final match. I'm looking forward to it but I'm NOT looking forward to the 95 degree temps or the fact that they don't serve a single healthy food there. I think I may eat just a hot dog...and hope that can last me until after where I'm planning on bringing some snacks. We'll be at the field for no less than 6-7 hours so I'm not sure I'll make it on a single hot dog. Today's plans - heading down to work out, showering, dropping the girls off at their last day of soccer camp, going to pick up 3 dozen fresh eggs, then ds and I are heading out to do grocery shopping. That's about it other than a few light household chores. I hope you all have a wonderful day!!

Just got back from my workout, another 5K on the bike in the books! We are looking at a heat wave today and I am on vacation. DD and I are taking the grands to a free water park and then to McDonald's for a treat. I'll rely on my large unsweet tea and a single grilled chicken wrap if I'm hungry. The heat just zaps me!

I'm up early and hope to get out running before the heat really settles in for the day.
Update: I really, really didn't want to go running but I did and survived! Now I'm back and have the house to myself for the day and looking forward to spending time in my sewing room! Ironic that on the hottest day of the year I'm going to be trying out an idea for a Christmas craft!!

What a treat for your girls brandy327. Sounds like fun and try to stay cool. I'm headed out the door now to do my walking, followed by a few errands and house cleaning. Mundane tasks, but I'm trying to enjoy them because this is my next to last Friday home before I head back to school. Enjoy your Friday everyone.

Wow, brandy327, how fun for your famly. But the heat, wow, it is bad. I think most of us are being effected by it today and this weekend. I told hubby this morning to just put me in a freezer. Looks like most of us are doing the same this morning--working out early before it gets too hot. I am headed out in a few minutes. I pray I can make it as I was up most of the night talking and texting my mom and siblings. Dad was at the ER with appendicitis. They took him into surgery at 1 a.m. I am going to crash later today I just know it. I have no idea what we will have for dinner. I need to ask hubby what he wants. He just got in from Brussels last night so not sure what he feels like eating. I guess whatever he wants, we will have. Enjoy the day everyone!

You ladies are an early bunch! lol. I always get up early but I don't necessarily get in here to post. Also, this morning I was busy listening to CNN's analysis of the convention yesterday. Trump talked too much and went past my bedtime so I had to go to bed. lol So according to my scale I've lost 1.4 lbs in two days. For me it's always easy to lose in the beginning, because just cutting out junk is guaranteed to cause weight to drop. It's keeping it up that's the problem. Yesterday I had not one bite of any grain. Yay me. I had eggs -- sigh -- for breakfast, salad with avocado for lunch, and a burger with avocado for dinner. Also some almonds somewhere in there during the day. And of course my coffee, with flavored coffee creamer. I'm never giving that up. On my list for today: -- google around for some alternate breakfast ideas. I'll start with paleo sites as someone suggested yesterday. -- finish the bookcase corner of my kitchen where my new cart will go, so I can move my pressure cooker from the counter to the cart -- put gas in the van -- while I'm out getting gas I WILL GO TO THE GYM! absolutely! -- take dd somewhere. It's just so darn HOT! poor dd, one more week till she's allowed to put weight on her leg so we can't go anwhere outside because the brace is just too hot. And it's too much effort to crutch anywhere in the heat. We can't think of anywhere indoors to go, so we may just drive around and hunt Pokemon. We've been to Ikea twice (they have wheelchairs), a small Staples near us (yes, there really is such a thing as a small Staples, lol), and that's it. We might try Trader Joe's today since that's pretty small. Thankfully we have a temporary handicapped parking thing so she never has far to crutch from the parking to the store. But we're limited by where we can park. This whole thing has made me so much more aware of how accessible -- or not, in many cases -- various places are. Well, I'm heading out now to walk the dog before the heat really arrives. I've always told my kids "don't wish away your life" (channeling my mother, who always said it to us) but this summer I can say "I can't wait till fall". Not sure why this summer has seemed so much hotter than usual, because this is Washington DC and it's always hot here in the summer. Maybe I'm just getting old.

Despite being so tired that I couldn't even get my contacts in (my eyes were watering so much that I couldn't even open them), I got my workout in at 6:15. I did W6D3 of the C25K - it was a 5 min warmup walk and then 22 mins running. I managed without any trouble surprisingly. I ate oatmeal before my workout but after I was done, I actually felt a bit shaky so after I showered I made to Eggo waffles and had some pb on them. I feel a bit better now. I probably won't be back from grocery shopping until later this afternoon so lunch will be late. It's more calories than what I'd typically have for breakfast but felt like I needed it this morning. Patter - I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. I hope he recovers quickly and that you can get some rest this afternoon!

I'm up, but not quite at 'em yet. I jumped on the scale this morning and I'm where I was on Tuesday (??--whatever the last day was that I weighed). I'm good with that. It keeps me in the next decade of weight and if I can hold on to it for tomorrow's weigh-in it will be a loss overall. Next week is when I'll have my period, so I should see a decent loss provided I don't got bonkers! It's usually the week before that I get insane cravings...I haven't really had anything horrible this week, but I'm not out of the woods yet. We shall see. I need to take this one step at a time and not look too far out. Every time I've done that I've managed to screw things up. Plans for today--declutter my dresser and closet. I'm going to take the boys out for lunch and I'll get something simple...or maybe not eat at all until we get home. Don't know where we'll go, so I'll play it by ear. Today is the last day of dd's ballet intensives so I'll be heading to the studio a little earlier to watch what they choreographed throughout the week. I'm excited! Dd is loving the dance, so I can't wait to see her and her classmates perform it! Have a lovely day everyone!

monklady123, I love that--"Don't wish your life away." brandy327, thank you. Haven't heard from Mom yet so I assume she is still trying to get rest. She didn't get home until 4 a.m. Sure wish they would move closer to us or my siblings. They don't have any family in TX so no one to help them. Ugh!

First, missfrenchjessica I am so sorry the jerk got off. Please hug your daughter for me. Tell her this teen mom appreciates her courage to stand up for what is right and the safety of other girls. He may not have been convicted, but I garauntee you a lot more people know what he is capable of and know to be aware of him. It read the past few threads. Thank you for missing me. It is nice to be missed. Everyone is doing so well. Way to go ladies! I have worked out every single day since I have been gone. I started out the week in Amish country with some girlfriends. We ate our way through, but we shared most things three ways. That is a plus. I ran the first night and have hit the gym treadmill or elliptical the other days. Now I am in another state with my son for baseball. His team was second in our state for their age group. We are now at the regional competition. The boys are getting killed, but having a ball. Thank goodness none of them are hardcore about it. I am doing my best to make positive choices given what choices I have. Keep rocking it friends!

I remember going to the beach one year and eating a bunch of stuff that I wouldn't have put on my diet plan. But I came home only about .8 lb more than when I left! It was because I walked on the beach and the boardwalk twice every day.

Patter keep us posted on your dad. Parents can be stubborn sometimes. My dad is very much that way. For your sake I wish they would move closer. Your plate is so full as it is, having them close would make it easier.

monklady123 I am hoping all the walking has helped in that regards. This town is so amazing. Between games yesterday a few us moms walked to the town square to go through their little shops. It was good little extra walk. Plus, my time in Amish country was all walking. Maybe the 100+ degree weather and high humidity will help melt it off too. Lol!

Mom only got 3 hours of sleep and is headed back to the hospital now. And glad to have you back. I love Amish country. My aunt lives right in the middle of it. Love when I go to visit her.

missfrenchjessica How did your dd handle the news of the acquittal yesterday? I thought about you gals last night and hoped it went better than you expected. TankTop Sounds like you're doing a great job getting in the exercise! I wouldn't worry too much about the food. I've just made sure to drink LOTS of water this week and stay as light as I can with my eating. I've been SO boring eating the same things all week but it really works. My biggest craving right now is taco salad (2 cups of lettuce, 3 oz lean ground turkey with taco seasoning, 1 serving of shredded cheese and topped with 2 tbsp medium taco sauce). It's boring but SO yummy.

brandy327 Thanks for asking--dd did not take it well. She was really angry about it and cried and then got philosophical. She's more mad that he didn't end up on the sex offenders registry. BUT! She is happy that even though the verdict didn't go our way, he's out a lot of time and money to have had to defend himself. His family all know that he was arrested for groping a 13 year old girl (did I mention he has children around this age? ), and he will never get back the same trust with them that he had. He never said he didn't touch her...just that she must have mistaken the bag he was carrying that must have touched her for his hands. Uh...asshole! Apparently the hand on her breast was all in her mind...ugh! I got her a little container of ice cream for herself and she wallowed a bit and is just trying to put it behind her. I'm very proud of her for following through on this and have told her so. At first she kind of rolled her eyes. When I went to hug her, she shrugged me away, but later while we were walking back to the car after getting her ice cream, she came and hugged me. I held her for a long time in that parking garage. Told her how proud of her I am and that she did the exact right things. That I would always be in her corner and believe her. My heart breaks that my baby did not get the justice she deserved, but she's a very strong, focused girl. She'll go on to do great things.

missfrenchjessica - your daughter is such a strong 13 yr old. I am very proud of her! Where I work we have a sexual assault program and I'm amazed at how strong some women are after their assaults. I'm thinking of you guys as she continues to process this. I bought a new pair of jeans (size 10), put them on and they were big. I wore them to work anyway thinking it was all in my mind. My co worker (they are my biggest cheerleaders) mentioned the jeans looked big and I agreed. She said "you should go try on a pair of 8's" I was like no way but I did at lunch AND THEY FIT! Like fit perfectly. No sucking in, no muffin top...they fit! I of course thought it was a fluke, went and grabbed another size 8 and tried them on and they fit. I bought them both! I'm still speechless as I never thought a size 8 was in my future.

needmysanity you are awesome! Patter as well you are really doing so well. I am in a 10 for most things now. I was in a 14 comfortably and being in a 10 is great! I bought a dress in a Medium and it fits nicely. That is progress. I am down 18 lbs which is good for me for sure. It's not because of exercise except work where i have to move around a lot. The diet is shot today. Tofu was seen again so then I ate some rice. Some things you just can't help I guess.
